Food was delicious and reasonably priced.
Amazing service, great prices
Our server (and overall service) was excellent. Both the quality and variety of food was great and considering it’s so close to our home, it was a pleasant and welcome change from our regular array of restaurants. Really enjoyable and tasteful in every way.
Service is phenomenal here from the valet person to the waiter! The hostess knows us and warmly welcomes us and waiter always remembers my "usual' brunch order. He went out of his way to bring warm chocolate croissants to the table after bringing the muffin/croissant basket. Previous visits we've only had muffins. The plain and chocolate croissants are nice, delicious addition! Food has been consistently good. When ready to leave the valet person had our cars lined up. A delightful dining experience from beginning to end.
Went to Vivo for my wifes birthday
.The staff went out of their way to make it a very special evening..My wife n guests really enjoyed the Food and drinks....For sure we will be back n recomend Vivo to our friends and family .Thank you
We went for Easter Sunday Brunch and thoroughly enjoyed the setting, the service, and the food. It was a prix fixe menu. The selections and food were devine! Would definitely come back again!
Wonderful Easter brunch. Our waiter, George, really brought the entire experience together. Over the years, I’ve had family parties and meals at the various restaurants in this historical home. VIVO certainly deserves the spot!
This restaurant has changed hands and names so many times in the last 20 years...but this is probably the best of the reincarnations. I highly recommend.
We went out for Sunday brunch to celebrate a birthday. The food was delicious and attractively presented. The menu had many interesting choices and the service was excellent.
I will definitely go back.
There certainly cannot be a better way to celebrate an anniversary than to return to the place where it all happened and enjoy an excellent meal with best-in-class service.
My wife and I love the atmosphere of Vivo and I was pleasantly surprised when I ordered my drink (Chivas) to be asked if I wanted the 12 year or 18 year. No restaurant I have ever been to has offered me that option, and I really appreciated it.
Appetizers were excellent. Grilled octopus, plates beautifully with an explosion of flavors including pomegranate. Now, that's unique. Shrimp Saganaki, another original that sings of flavors with tomato sauce and feta. Lobster bisque with large pieces of lobster and a whole claw, wow.
Dinner - my wife had the grilled red snapper and I devoured the braised short ribs with three styles of mashed potatoes. What an incredible meal.
Of course, we were stuffed and had to dig deep to enjoy the desserts. Pistachio creme brûlée was very good, but the bread pudding takes the cake. Best ever and we could not put our spoons down.
Lastly, the hostess let us revisit the ballroom upstairs where we had our wedding reception 16 years ago to the day. No better way to finish off a romantic anniversary dinner than with a touch of romance.
Excellent food, great service and ultra-affordable prices will certainly bring us back again and again.
Saw this place from the highway. Shot in the dark. It was good. I think we had a newer server. He forgot to tell us the specials. The other guy who filled the water for us kept forgetting to come to do that. The short rib was exceptional. I'd deff go back just for that. A little pricey, but you are paying for the ambience and the potions were actually bigger than I thought they'd be
Went for Valentines Day dinner, our reservation was for 8:30 and we were seated at 8:45 which was not bad considering it was very crowded . The bar was under staffed one person only ! I felt sorry for the girl and it’s ashame because that’s where all places
make money , but the live music and the delicious food made up for the wait ! The staff was very friendly and the hostess was fantastic! Fabulous place I would highly recommend!
Food was good. Service was slow. Had to wait for our meal for a while.
Table next to us asked for salt several times before they got it. Most likely give it another try.
Food was good ... steak was ordered medium and over cooked ... service was mediocre at best , after the food came out our waiter never came back to check to see if everything was ok. Might try brunch, not sure if we would return for dinner l.
Valentines dinner. Live music was appreciated as was the starter but the main course was inattentively prepared.
As I indicated food and service were very good. While pricey, I felt we received good value for it.
While decor, ambiance, food and service reflected an upscale dining place, the loud music cheapened the atmosphere. It was impossible to hold a conversation at my table, causing me to complain to our waiter.
For evening dining/brunch, instrumental music at low volume is what i require for a return visit.
However, later in the evening or on special nights you're more than welcome to your loud music combo.
Very nice food and service. No complaints. Music was at a nice volume.
Brunch to celebrate a birthday. We had the 1st reservation, so quiet when we arrived, livelier when we left, but not too noisy. It was easy to have a conversation. Waitstaff were very attentive and hostess was very friendly and welcoming.
I've enjoyed most brunch entrees at this restaurant except for the avocado, polenta and eggs. Pretty tasteless. Polenta was runny and needed seasoning. Mushrooms and avocado were in a soupy mess. Eggs were good. Muffins were stale. I'll return but wouldn't order that dish. It would be nice to have some simpler menu options too.
Service as always was terrific.
The food was tasteless. Halibut was like eating paper. Foid undercooked. No flavor on any of the dishes i ordered and food was served tepid.
Sat near the fireplace off the bar - warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our waiter George was very knowledgeable about the menu and we really enjoyed our food and wine pairings. Definitely coming back soon!
Very nice restaurant. Treat yourself to something special.
I was there for the first time. The food and service was excellent.
We went for Christmas Eve dinner. The value was incredible. The portions were huge (we brought food home), the food was excellent as was the service & the ambiance was wonderful. We were not rushed & enjoyed a relaxed, excellent Christmas Eve meal.
Service was terrible
Waiter was great. However the lobster bisque was not even edible. Too salty. The "wild" salmon was farmed. I even inquired a second time as to the salmon. Very disappointed. Sesfood salad and clams casino were great. Fried calamari was barely warm. Pasta dishes were pretty good but nothing special.
The chef has come up with a creative menu that is cut above any restaurant in northeast Queens. Daily specials are outstanding. The food has been constiently spectacular. It is our go to place for fine dining. The staff is friendly and professional. I highly recommend VIVO.
We've been here a few times. The good was good, but we've had better in the past. We were there with friends on a Thursday night and the live music trio and our seats by the fireplace made the night. Service was very good as well. We'll be back!
The staff is very friendly. The food is excellent, this was our third time there and everything we ordered was delicious. Everyone was very happy with their food. Truffle fries are amazing! And the desserts! Yum! Definitely recommend this place.
It was our wedding anniversary and we wanted to try someplace new. The food was delicious, particularly the arugula and pear salad, short ribs in Chianti reduction and the veal francese (the portion was enormous). We split the cannoli for dessert. There were four small, very fresh cannoli and fruit which were perfectly creamy and not overly sweet. I highly recommend this place!
Were it not for a very slow kitchen, Vivo! would get 5 stars across the board. Food took an unusually long time to come out. Service (drinks, water refills, etc) was attentive, table was spacious, food was delicious. Will definitely return, and recommend as a change from the regular Bayside white tablecloth options.
Delicious brunch. Interesting selections. Muffins are back but also in the basket was a rather large apple tart for 1 but we were 4 people. A little odd although much better than foccacia bread at last visit.
Food was amazing, George our waiter was amazing, drinks were amazing, highly recommend
My favorite neighborhood restaurant. The friendly staff, cozy atmosphere and chef that accommodates my food allergies makes this my go to place when I don't feel like cooking. The menu is diverse and drinks are fantastic.
Arrived before the rest of our party and sat by the bar to wait. Glad I did because I had the pumpkin pie martini which was delicious. As soon as the rest of our party arrived we were seated. Service was great and food was excellent. My steak was cooked just the way I wanted it and the truffle fries were amazing! Everyone kept picking at them. Highly recommend Vivo.
We went on Saturday night. There was a wedding upstairs and two birthday parties at large tables. noise was a challenge to hear across our table for two. maybe a better spot for summertime when you could eat outside with less noise. food was good and waitstaff generally attentive.
Met friends for brunch. Interesting menu. We all thought out dishes were delish! Scallops were fabulous. Only suggestion bring back mini muffins rather than focaccia bread with brunch.
My BD. loved the brunch. Everything was fresh and delicious. Will be back
Vivo, which used to be Vivaldi which used to be Caffe on the Green, which used to be Valentinod on the Green is actually a fanous place. It was the residence of Rudolph Valentino, and the summer home of Mayor Fiorello Laguardia. Beautiful place and i went there for many private parties as well over the years.
I had a reservation and was quickly seated. There were not many patrons there at the time, but by the rnd of the bight, the restaurant was at capacity. I guess everyone eats later there on a Friday night. Justin, our server...he.was so young and so well versed in serving. He did an excellent job. I asked him about choices of.wine and he picked a California cab over a French Cab that was more expensive. Guess what, after I took the Cali cab, I asked for a taste of the French cab and the California cab win hands down. That in itself was a great start. Started with the special salad, waterxress dalad with champagne vinaigrette, with all sorts of delicious items added. It was excellent. Also tried the Striped bass, that had mussels, clams and shrimp..another winner. The Brinzino fillet had the perfecr xharring and again, well flavorful. I followed with the nutella pecan pie with vanilla ice cream. The manager kept coming by to see how the meal was. He was personable and with a great. It was an enjoyable evening there. Would highly recommend!
Just fabulous! Great atmosphere! Fabulous food! Wonderful service! Valet parking! Delightful staff! Could not have been better!!!!!
