VIVO Mediterranean Grill & Catering
The restaurant’s upscale vibe resonates with old world authenticity. Once the mansion home to glamorous Rudolph Valentino, the setting is both elegant and stylish, offering sun filled, traditional Ballrooms, a decidedly urban vibe in the Dining Room, hand crafted cocktails at the Bar and Lounge, and al fresco dining on the Patio adjacent to manicured gardens and gazebo.

Lobster was very good. Although I couldn't get a "steamed lobster" only broiled. The skirt steak was ok and a bit on the small side for the price of $40. Desert was very good.
Have been to the restaurant many times and had good experiences. Last night wasn’t as good. My husband ordered the lobster & it was a little raw in some places. My daughter got her usual shrimp scampi but this time with a ton of crushed pepper. It was so spicy she couldn’t eat it. We let the waiter know & he said it’s shrimp scampi it’s always spicy. Um no it’s not suppose to be. Outdoor sitting is nice
The food was good/ok. Nice wait staff, but there was a wedding at the same time , and only a curtain to separate the noise. Would try again on a day when they were not so crowded.
The lobster risotto was delicious. The Bronzino was good but the rice and spinach were awful. The halibut and accompanying side orders were good.
Tartufo was standard and the tiramisu was really awful. They do have Santa Margarita by the glass so that was a plus.
As I said I would try again on a night when they aren’t serving so many people.
We sat on the dining room side. Lovely atmosphere. Lively but not loud.
Appetizers - burrata, Mediterranean salad and meatballs. All delicious. Meatballs a must.
We had three different meals-skirt steak w/chimichurri, balsamic chicken and a seafood dish we all loved.
Dessert-two of us had the gelato with espresso (skipped the sambuca). Excellent. The third friend had something else she really enjoyed.
Wait staff attentive, but let us sit and relax. We stayed for a while after we finished to catch up, no pressure.
Proseco was fine. Margarita-weak.
My negative review is based on the fact that you need to RESERVE your lobster for the Lobster dinner offered Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday’s.
I think that’s ridiculous but at least tell people when taking their reservations or post or on your website and the sign outside the restaurant.
The food we settled on was fine but didn’t make up for them not having lobsters.
Every body was very friendly. We enjoyed dining outdoors. The food and service was outstanding.
Good and service poor
Excellent service and food
So glad to see Vivo is back!! Always good food and the owners and staff are wonderful. Highly recommend checking it out.
Very Disappointing !! We went on a Wednesday night and had a 6pm reservation, this was a night that they advertise as Lobster Special Night. Well at 6pm they ran out of Lobster. there were only about 15 people having dinner at that time, so it was either very poor planning by them or a shill. After they broke the news to us, our evening was ruined and it also was on my Birthday !!
Good Afternoon Ronnie, Thank you so much for note. We most certainly bring enough lobsters per night for the lobster special based on reservations and pre-orders. Because it has been so popular, guests do pre-order and pre-pay for lobsters and that is what happened on the night you were there. We want this to be a fun offering that is enjoyed, not a disappointment. I am hoping the items you did have were wonderful. Our team works very hard to make sure that every visit with us is great.
I had brunch this past Sunday at Vivo and I will have to say it was very enjoyable. The food was great and so was the service. Will definitely be going back again.
Wonderful birthday dinner for my wife.
I was really surprised because on previous occasions I had been very disappointed.
Perhaps a new chef or new owners. Regardless,
Yesterday was delicious, delightful, and waitress was very pleasant!
Moreover, music was very outdated and not pleasant for dining!
Celebrated Fathers Day
One issue…..server never offered us specials.
Staff was nice about food was rather overpriced. For instance the $19 ‘jumbo’ shrimp cocktail was 4 medium sized shrimp. Sadly won’t be returning.
Celebrating my son’s graduation dinner at Vivo’s made it extra special. Good food, nice ambiance and wonderful
The food was very disappointing, we didn’t even eat it.
I’ve been here so many times and couldn’t believe how the quality of the food has changed. We definitely won’t be dining here again.
Great outdoor dining experience. Beautiful park-like setting, delicious food (a little spicy-which I like). The tables are not crowded together. Does not feel like you are in Queens.
Went here Thursday for 2 lb lobster special. Very good. This was a early Father"s Day dinner. There were 3 of us, and we all had the special. Also shared baked clams, 2 each, enough for a starter. Over very good experience
Excellent overall eating experience. While service was slow, it was enjoyable.
There were a lot of events going on but Loretta who is the hostess and manager was amazing
She always makes it happen and knows how to treat her customers
Because of her I would go back
The lobster was delicious and so is all the food . The restaurant is very comfortable and it has a lot if history . The house was the home of Rudolph Valentino , famous silent film star
One of the nicer restaurants in the neighborhoods
It has a beautiful setting. We sat outside and it is very lovely. We had two birthdays to celebrate as I noted in the reservations but no acknowledgement from the staff. This is the only restaurant I've been to that doesn't at least write "Happy Birthday" on the dessert. The food is good but not anything special. Come for the ambiance.
2 pound lobster special Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday was delicious and a great value.
The food was delicious, the service spot-on! I’d definitely recommend and return.
Great service and very accommodating of food allergies.
Food was great
Service was good
Nice outdoor atmosphere
Only complaint was my husband’s beer was not cold
Outdoor dining was comfortable and spacious. Service was poor.
Great food and tremendous staff
We tried their lobster special and found it to be an excellent choice. It was succulent and a very large portion! We also want to thank our server and the bartender for making us 2 White Sangrias - absolutely perfect!
My husband loved his Bolognese pasta, my salmon was good. Needed to ask for silverware a couple of times. Felt like our waiter, although lovely was a bit inexperienced.
First time at Vivo. The food was exquisitely prepared. Very impressed. We will return. Excellent choice for mother's day.❤
Definitely one of my best experiences to date. Took my family for Mother's day, and everyone, including the picky ones raved about the food. The meals were prepared fresh, and came out in a timely manner. Would definitely be dining here soon.
When we first arrived it took quite awhile to receive a menu, and we saw another table that had just arrived receive menus first. We finally asked for them and from that point on the service was very good. The food was delicious and the restaurant is lovely. There was a party nearby that was pretty loud, so I’m not sure what the noise level would be without a party going on. I would definitely return.
I have been there twice and the food has been OUTSTANDING Both times !!!! 100% will be back and recommend
Everything was good but a few of us were gluten free and they didn't have enough selection for GF, not even GF pasta which most restaurants offer. The previous owners had a better selection.
All of the food was excellent, wait staff was friendly and helpful.
This is a wonderful restaurant. The bread and humus they serve are delicious. We shared a meatball appetizer and it was really good. My crispy branzino was surprisingly crispy and wonderful. My husband's chicken parm was also crispy and he enjoyed it very much. The dessert, flourless chocolate cake was the only disappointing part of the meal. Not bad but not great. The waiter described it as layer cake. Also, the only tea available was herbal or decaf when I wanted a nice cup of black tea. We came here to celebrate a milestone. It was our anniversary and the hostess wished us a happy anniversary when we entered but I was quite surprised and disappointed when there was no mention of it at our table when the dessert came. This is the only restaurant we have been to that didn't acknowledge our special day. Other than that, it was a wonderful dinner.
Everything was delicious. The server was very perlite and patient and helpful
I've been at Vivo several times. Never disappoints. Staff always extremely pleasant.
Service was great, this place is beautiful! The hostess was wonderful and very friendly and very helpful bc we had a baby with us and she made it super comfortable for us..food was delicious!
