George Martin's Vivo Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
I finally ordered the pizza and liked it very much. They brush the crust with olive oil. The beer was good but cost 7.00 which i think is pricey. We always get the caesar salad which we like. Its a nice place to go after work when you don't feel like cooking
My husband and I have been coming here since the restaurant opened and has become one of our favorite "go to" spots whenever we want a delicious Italian dinner. My husband gets his usual Caesar salad (the best we've found anywhere) and grilled salmon. I usually change my dinner entrée since there are so many options on the menu that I enjoy. During our latest visit, I ordered a cup of their amazing tomato bisque but was surprised to see that the cup was only half full - I don't recall it being that skimpy on previous visits and regret not mentioning it to our waiter. My entrée was the mahi mahi topped with crab imperial with a side of grilled broccolini.
The fish was good but slightly overcooked to the point of being a little tough. Unfortunately there are no desserts we like on the menu but wish they would add a few other options such as fudge cake, brownie sundae, or other options not involving Nutella. Our regular waiter is no longer there having left for grad school, however the service we received was very good. Expect the prices to be on the slightly higher side remembering this is a hotel restaurant.
We had a great meal...everything was delicious. Excellent server. Only thing that I would comment on is that the food was extremely hot. Not spicy hot but temperature wise. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but I did have to wait several minutes to begin eating. Otherwise, we were satisfied and will be back again soon.
Vivo has made some minor changes to their menu, and we approve! Their baked meatballs and house salad are still the best around. They've added a lobster ravioli, which the Queen says is just as good as that served at , the best Northern Italian restaurant in Maryland. That's some high praise! There are several new pasta dishes on the menu, which we will be tasting on our next visit. This is a lively place, so not ideal for quiet conversation over dinner. But we overlook that because the food and the service are great. We highly recommend Vivo.
Our friend was just returning from Rome and we are leaving for Rome and we asked him where he wanted to go to dinner and he said Vivo. The truth is Vivo has good authentic Italian food, great service, good wine - it is like being in Italy. We hadn't been there since they introduced a new menu that looks really great. But don't worry many favorites that they are known for are still there. We tried a new "antipasti" Mozzarella en Carozza, "a crispy mozzarella sandwich" with balsamic tomatoes. It was delicious and will become one of our favorites. I enjoyed the classic Chicken Marsala which is always perfection. We tried the new Rigatoni Pesto Pomodoro with blackened shrimp and really enjoyed it. We love their homemade pastas and happy they are making the homemade rigatoni again. We can't wait to try more new things. We decided to linger over dessert and the new Napoleon dessert and bread pudding are delicious. Nicole, the acting manager provided great leadership and service. Our server Hi was friendly, attentive, and five star!
I enjoyed the food. The pasta was was cooked perfectly. I had the seafood bisque which was in a light red cream sauce good amount of seafood although very salty. Love the bean hummus with the olive oil for the bread. I had the Lobster and Shrimp pasta and it again was loaded with shrimp and Lobster. My husband had the Caprese Salad which was phenomenal and the stuffed salmon with crabmeat. My only disappointment was the nothing was said about our special occasion even when we specifically put a request on Open table. With that said we both enjoyed our dinner immensly!
Vivo's has been our favorite Italian restaurant since it opened approx. 4 years ago. The food is fresh and the sauces are some of the best I've ever had. The pastas and bread are made in-house. Definitely try the Caesar salad (cold, crisp, great dressing with hard boiled egg on top - delish!). The atmosphere has a beautiful Tuscan feel with dim lighting and a very relaxing ambience that enhances your dining experience. The wait staff is top-notch but unfortunately our favorite long time server, Jamar, will be leaving for grad school and will be sorely missed.
Great service from Brandon. Very much appreciate chef coming out to discuss gluten free is taken seriously & all equipment etc is separate from gluten items. They even brougjt out freshly baked gluten free banquette - yum!!! Food was fresh & delicious. My son said it was the best pizza he had ever tasted.
This has become our go to restaurant when entertaining relatives and friends. The food is consistently delicious with the best sauces I've ever had. The service is friendly without being intrusive. The pastas are all made in-house as are the desserts. The ambience is very Tuscan adding to the Italian themed menu. Vivo is conveniently located off Rt. 295 in The Hotel at Arundel Preserve, a beautiful hotel with free garage parking.
Vivo stands out as a great place for a light dinner. The service is always outstanding, the menu is small but interesting, the wine list is adequate, and the cocktails are outstanding. Hats off to Jamal for making one of the best Manhattans around. Their house salad is memorable, as are the baked meatball apps. We'll continue to visit, and we'll recommend Vivo to friends and family.
I've been to Vivo twice with my family. We love the tasty bread with the oil and homemade ricotta cheese for dipping. Wine on tap (merlot, most recently) is excellent. My kids have enjoyed the woodfired pizza while the adults have enjoyed the fresh salads and pastas.
No need to go to the city for great Italian food. Love the chicken marsala here. Actually you can't go wrong with any entree; all are cooked to perfection. The homemade pasta is so fresh. The wine on tap is good and an excellent bargain. The service is wonderful. We attribute it to the manager Christina who sets the bar high by providing welcoming hospitality to every guest she greets. She is engaged with the servers and the guests to be sure that each table receives excellent attention. We love this restaurant and its sister GrillFire in the same location.
First date night with my husband since our son was born. Perfect atmosphere for us! Laid back, but still high quality tasty food! Our server was prompt and professional. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and family, hopefully we can go again soon!
We have eaten here twice in the last week, around departing and returning from BWI. Superb service- example was that they went over to the adjacent restaurant to get my son a root beer since they did not have it on the fountain drinks. Great pizza. Good kale Caesar with sardines. Nice wine selection. We were with three kids, ages 3, 5, and 7. We'd go back in a second.
