Authentic Italian restaurant with great service ! No need to travel to the city to have Italian food that is excellently prepared with fresh ingredients. The homemade pasta is such a pleasure, cooked perfectly al dente. My favorite dish of chicken Marsala is made to perfection at Vivo! The bolognese, a signature dish, is my husband's favorite. Kristina, the manger, keeps a watchful eye on the flow of the kitchen and the service, while making all the guests feel special. Dessert here is worth eating. The raspberry and chocolate cake was very good and we can never resist the nutella cannoli's here.
We usually have a really good experience when visiting Vivo. On this visit, it was a little more crowded than usual. When I walked in, a line had formed at the hostess desk, but there was no hostess, and no one would acknowledge us. Several couples ended up leaving. After about 15 minutes, a server finally sat us. This took entirely too long, and I found this to be unacceptable. Had it not been for the reservation, I would have left too.
Our server apologized for the delay and said she would take care of us. She was pleasant, but not very attentive. There happened to be a gentleman with a medical emergency next to us, in which I called 9-1-1. The server who sat us wanted to give us a complimentary dessert, which I thought was nice, but she then tried to talk me out of the dessert I chose. I thought this was not only strange, but it's bad practice. On a good note, the food was delicious.
We were staying at the hotel for a conference. One of the best hotel restaurants we've ever been to. Great food and service.
Vivo is still the place to go for some good Italian fare in a casual setting. Service is always superior (thanks, again, Oscar), and the food is creative and delicious. Pretty noisy, so not a place for quiet conversation. Best Manhattans in town!
This spot had been recommended by two of my business colleagues. I met a me tee their for dinner. The food was very good and service was on point. I thought that the value was very good for the quality of the food. I would go again.
This is the second time we have dined at Vivo in Hanover, MD. The food is very good and the staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. We will not hesitate to go back.
The bread and dip is excellent. We have had a couple of pasta dishes that were very good. The specials are also an extremely good deal.
we had a great dinner here! we were in the mood for italian. the restaurant was busy but we had made a reservation. our service by shannon was really great! she recommended great dishes. we shared a burrata appetizer and my fiance had the clams in white wine sauce with pasta and i had bucatoni with lobster. we enjoyed a bottle of chianti and enjoyed our wonderful night!
This was our second visit to Vivo's and the food was just as good the second time around. The bread is fabulous and my entrée, Short Ribs with potatoes, was delicious and very filling. My wife's gnocchi was good as well but the Vodka sauce was a bit spicy for her taste.
After going bridesmaid dress shopping my girls and I came here for dinner. We had Shannon as our waitress and she was AMAZING!!! She was knowledgeable and super attentive and made our night out alot of fun. This is my second time here and I can not wait to go back.
Went for an anniversary dinners. Had great service and good food.
While my wife and I have loved going to this restaurant the past 2-3 times, this experience was slightly different. For one, it was one of the busiest nights that we've been int here. Secondly, the newly reworked menu has really gotten away with many of the vegetarian options, which are now limited to a handful of cliche selections. I liked many of their past vegetarian dishes (can't name them off the top of my head but an eggplant one comes to mind). So I was disappointed with the current choices. I ended up opting for the crispy mozzarella item on the appetizer section (which is a fancier version of mozzarella sticks you would get at less fancier places). Hope to be back sometime in the summer when they hopefully have a different seasonal menu with perhaps more vegetarian options.
Finally decided to try this place after being a bit skeptical...overall a pleasant surprise...wine on tap was a nice touch...one red, one white (they rotate them, red was excellent)...pizzas were a decent size (standard and cauliflower), fairly priced and good...the waiter was attentive...will be back to give it another shot :)
Need to have people with reservations to wait in the lobby instead of gathering around the doorways. Maybe move the podium to the hotel entrance so people waiting have more room until seated for dinner.
We were pleasantly surprised by how good the pizza was. We would definitely go back.
Went there for Valentine’s Day. Was disappointed to see that they had a limited menu and not the full menu. Wine was good, had the super Tuscan, the bottle was a good price. Bread is delicious I love the crispness and the spread. Ordered the Arancini but was sad to see that it was dry and the gravy was overly sweet. I had the white wedding lasagna which was great but it was definitely missing the tomato sauce that regular lasagna has. White sauce doesn’t do it justice. My husband had the beef bolognese and he like it but the pasta to beef ratio was low so he only ate half the plate. Dessert was good we had the raspberry cake and the baba cake. Overall it wasn’t bad for a dinner but honestly I could have gone somewhere for more authentic Italian food. Viva is definitely more contemporary.
Good food, but everyone is crammed in like sardines. We went for Valentine's Day and the tables on either side were close enough to hug them without getting out of my seat.
Food was good, but on a limited menu which we did not going in. So a touch disappointing when you go for something and it isn't being served.
Great food. Great service.
First time here. Really enjoyed our food, service, ambience. Parking is easy in the hotel lot with sheltered path as it was pouring that evening. We had the spinach/meat lasagna and blackened salmon/grilled jumbo shrimp with cauliflower, all very delicious.
First time visit from out of state, staff was nice and attentive most times, my order was very tasty, Cesar salad with anchovies and carbonara was great and moscado went well with meal. And also the flourless choc cake was nice. I will definitely visit again and recommend this restaurant to others.
We had a great dining experience during lunch. The atmosphere evoked great conversation. The location is perfect for a lunchtime event and I will definitely come back for a late lunch and cocktails.
Great food and exceptional service
Had great food and service was its usual exceptional
It was a nice restaurant although the host saw us walk in, it took the him a few minutes to notice us and seat us. The waiter however was outstanding he knew what we needed before ask for it. He was very observant. I recommend the Lobster Ravioli and the Arancini- they were delicious .
The service was good, nothing exceptional. The food is delicious, but the portions are a little small. My husband looked at his bowl and said, "I'm going to be hungry later". I ordered a pasta/shrimp dish. I don't recall the name, but "pesto" was in the title. Naturally, I was expecting something with pesto sauce. Instead, it was a tomato based sauce. Maybe there was a dab of pesto mixed in with the tomato sauce. The dish was good, but I would suggest they change the name.
The calamari we had was fantastic. Perfectly cooked and the dipping sauce was just spicy enough to set it apart from other calamari dishes. Great flavor. The chicken marsala was good. The chicken parmesan was, sadly, awful. The cheese was burnt, the chicken was dry and it wasn't even very nice to look at. I barely made a dent in it as a result. I ate the pasta it came with instead.
Our server Shannon was, same as the other time we ate there, fantastic. So good at her job, so personable and friendly, made us feel right at home. We asked for her section specifically because of the first visit and were just as happy with her as before.
It's pretty loud in there so intimate conversation is tough, but then again no one's going to overhear your conversation either.
Fairly expensive for what it was, but it's a hotel restaurant - kind of goes with the territory.
I came here with friends last night and we had the best time and a very delicious meal. We shared different appetizers: the meatballs, arancini, seafood chowder and cauliflower steak. All were very tasty. Also had the tre carne pizza, and fettucini with chicken. Everything was very good. There were 4 women in my party and our server was Shannon. She was awesome! She kept the drinks coming and seemed to always be around when we needed her, but never too annoying or constantly interrupting us. She was very entertaining and full of personality and she helped make our girls night out very enjoyable. I've been here many times before and enjoyed the all you can eat pasta night, the margherita pizza, the meatball hero and when they have it, the butternut squash soup is out of this world delish. If you are in the BWI/Arundel Mills area and are in the mood for good Italian food, drive on over to Vivo at The Hotel at Arundel Preserve. You'll be glad you did. OOH . . . don't forget to try the Nutella Cannoli.
Was disappointed that they did not accept the coupon that lured us in because we had happy hour priced drinks. My carbonara lacked flavor seemed to not have any garlic or cheese. Bartender/waiter was somewhat short with us which was also a dissapointment. I would not have minded the coupon not being accepted as much if our service was super friendly like it was the last time we were there.
Food and service was great! Wine was wonderful Restaurant quite loud for table talk .... but overall very nice.
We have been to Vivo several times and each time it is amazing. The ambiance, the delicious food, great wine, and we love how you can see into the kitchen. It is one of our favorite restaurants.
First time for everyone in our party of 6. We were celebrating a special occasion, and we eat out at a different restaurant same time once a year. Everyone was impressed with the food and service, and we all have plans to go back. The meatballs were amazing.
The atmosphere was good as well as the location. The food wasn't bad but the service was horrible.
This will be the 3rd time I have dined at Vivo, the food has always been great and at a fair price. In I'm in town on business I like to take my business diners there and everyone always enjoys the food and wine.
Waitress was wonderful, food was excellent and staff was very kind and helpful! 😃👍
A great place to dine!
Food was good but the bar was outstanding. Best bartender in the area.
The carbonara was excellent. The seafood al forno was disappointing.
The server Nicole was not very attentive, she was quite abrupt and appeared disinterested
Outstanding fare and service! I only wish that they opened before 4pm on Saturday.
This was a great spot for a nice lunch or dinner. The food was fresh and tasty and the service was excellent. I would definitely return.
We love this place! Our waiter Oscar was very attentive to our family’s order.
