About
The food was good but very much overpriced. When I made the online booking, I noted when I booked that the special occasion was for a birthday but nothing was mentioned throughout the dinner or offered. The service was great but when I made mention of the special occasion when booking, I would expect it to be reach the front line server when we arrive.
Great food great service
Have visited Vivo in Sherwood Park - this was my 3rd visit - and it was excellent! The appetizers were wonderful and so was the shrimp cocktail. I had the filet - medium rare - which was perfectly done. It was a family dinner for 4 and service was great but also unobtrusive. Our server - Taylor was attuned to our pace and was very efficient!
Will be back for another fabulous meal at this wonderful find in Sherwood Park!
Our fourth visit to Vivo in the Park on Sunday...what a fantastic restaurant...delicious Italian food served with a table-sharing ethos, great service, nice decor, and very reasonable prices. It’s become our favourite restaurant! You should definitely try it out.
Excellent!
We were excited to try Vivo in Sherwood Park for Valentines weekend. We had the Valentines special. The restaurant use to be a Ricks grill and still has the layout similar...no issue.
Let’s just put it this way, nothing was wow or stand out. Pasta was tough and steak was a cut of tenderloin. The dinner didn’t deserve my 200$ bill, not even close.
I’m assuming many others feel this way as there were only six other tables occupied. Sad.
The food is really good and foodies will definitely appreciate Vivo in the Park. However, our very experienced server was less than professional and not very helpful when it came to be just a little bit creative with our requests- for example a "virgin cocktail". It started the experience off on a surprisingly disappointing note. Then the traditional Italian bread, oil and balsamic vinegar showed up. The bread looked, smelled and tasted great, but to actually get the bread to touch the balsamic at the bottom of the dipping bowl, which was filled to brim with olive oil, the cubes of bread had to be completely immersed in the oil! Here's a mouthful of olive oil for you- enjoy! The waiter did bring us a better mixture upon request, but at this point, we were 0/2 on the experience. Everything else was fine and the food, as mentioned, was really good. But for the prices being charged for the "dining experience", I'd expect a better ambiance, a better non-alcoholic drink selection, a location that feels like quality (as opposed to a strip mall, beside a Taco Bell), and a waiter that is capable of making the evening that much more special.
Took a while to get our table even though we had a reservation. It was Valentine’s Day though! We had to ask someone for a drink menu to get service. Once seated we had excellent service and the food was fantastic. We will definitely come back.
Slower than I’ve ever experienced with no recognition of the issues. Finally got our mains and the pasta was rock hard. Awful. Won’t ever go back. Minor apology and we paid for our drinks and the salad only but beyond disappointing.
Unfortunately, the service on this night fell very short. We never received our main course and it took almost 2 hours to receive the pasta. The management had warned us of a delay due to Valentines day but delay was beyond reasonable. I could see other patrons also looking around hoping their food would show up. The managers did try to make things right but we paid our bill and left. Our reservation was for 7:45 and we received our pasta (after having appetizer) after 9:30 and by 10:15 we had still not received our food. Disappointing as we had a great experience at the west end Vivo. I don't think I can give them another chance but the tortellini was very good and perhaps it was an unfortunate night that just got away on the staff.
Had the Valentines Menu and each course was delicious! Service was top notch! Definitely be back, highly recommend!
Awesome as always!
Early Valentines dinner
First off, I’ve been a fan of Vivo for years, and I still am. The food is still well done, and reasonably priced.
That said, the SP location is slipping, the food is still great, but the place is dead quiet (2 tables at 7:00pm on a Saturday!), the atmosphere is dead and that translates to the staff. Obviously with reduced business the great staff have moved on, no money.
I’d accept that if they could manage a service. Like I said, 2 tables so nothing crushing the kitchen, but still our appies, pasta & steak all came out basically at the same time. There was no break, and the food ended up on top of each other.
I’m afraid I see the end for Vivo in the Park, too bad, I’m still a fan, but it’s obvious the end is coming. May just want to pull the plug and move on.
We had been to vivo before; however, this time wasnt great. Our waiter was not knowledgeable, forgot to refill drinks after being asked, seemed nervous and uncomfortable, and stopped coming by once we were eating. We needed to leave and he took a very very long time boxing our food and getting the bill. He left the debit machine and never came back. It was also my mums birthday and usually we would be offered a dessert but we were not (not a big deal). When spending a large amount of money i would expect a better experience. We wont be rushing back to Vivo
We had great food at VIVO, we enjoyed it very much!
Thank you!
Excellent food, good service but under attended. Location was a problem with 2 previous restaurants, hope they can continue to grow. Will be back though.
Nothing like west end vivo
Restaurant had great reviews but unfortunately the food fell short. The brussel sprouts were cold and much too sweet. We were told there would be genoa on the Salumi e Formaggio, which sold it for me, and it came out without the genoa. They said the order of genoa would be coming in next week. The mustard was not appetizing. We also ordered the pollo and the chicken was quite dry. Not much of our food was eaten.
What I can say is that the ambience was lovely and our server was great. She was very helpful and I quite enjoyed the wine that she recommended.
Unfortunately, we will not be back.
Fantastic service and amazing food
My husband and I went to Vivo this weekend. Happy hour wine and amazing food. He had the Tenderloin, cooked to perfection with great sides. I had the sea bass, wonderful dish, highly recommended. The service was great, the restaurant was pleasant and I love the highback booths. Gives a sense of privacy and the other diners are not a part of every conversation. The new plates for one make it much easier for a single or couple to enjoy this great restaurant. We will be back!
Our server, Natalia, was so helpful. She carefully explained the menu and options. We had the Chef's taster menu and were very satisfied! Delicious food and wine!
Happy Birthday to me.
Great New Years Eve dinner!
I’ve been to VIVO several times for dinner, and have always enjoyed everything about this great restaurant. Today, had lunch there with my adult daughter. We shared the arancini, caprese, and Caesar salad. Portions were very generous and perfect for sharing. We went away with plenty of leftover salad, and very satisfying meal. Awesome flavors and quality. Support local!!!
Second visit here. A little understaffed on the service side but the manager stepped in and was great. Food was amazing. Best lamb I’ve had.
Great food as always, friendly server! Highly recommended! Our guests really enjoyed it!
Fantastic meal. Very friendly and prompt service. Well worth the trip!
We absolutely love dining at Vivo, so that is why we were a bit surprised that our food was not hot. When the food arrived at the table it was lukewarm at best. The taste was still wonderful as was the service. We were just underwhelmed with the temperatures.
Outstanding food and service. Great ambiance. The lobster risotto was just amazing. Can't recommend high enough!!
Our experience was okay. Our main entree came out cold which was a disappointment. The food was not worth what we paid.
We were super excited to try this restaurant but we honestly felt let down. Was the pasta good? Yes. Was it outstanding? No. The Gudi was pretty good but the fettuccine was bland.
Our waitress, while nice, came by way too often. Mainly because she kept forgetting what we had ordered.
There’s too many great restaurants around so we won’t be back. Glad we tried it out though.
Went to Vivo in the park for dinner. Assumed it would be the same as the city locations. Atmosphere was cold and empty. Lights could not brighter in a gymnasium . Service was average in a normal restaurant but terrible for a restaurant with 5 tables with people. Food was very average. I have not had a bad experience with food or service until I visited the Park. No wonder the restaurant was empty on a Friday night.
Excellent as per usual. Hooked on the pan seared Caesar salad dish
Caprese salad was warm And had sun dried tomato’s in it. Pasta was chewy and the flavour was unmemorable. They haven’t changed the restaurant since it was ric’s grill over 10 years ago so it is dark with tall booths. Not what you would expect for a higher end restaurant. Will not be going back.
We celebrated a birthday and were fortunate enough to be seated at the Chef’s Table. I was a great experience that I highly recommend to anyone. The food was amazing and our server was incredible. It was a wonderful celebration and we will definitely be returning. If you haven’t tried Vivo yet treat yourself to some great food and service!!
Celebrating our anniversary ! Have been many times to the west location but really like the Sherwood Park location !
Food was amazing as usual and service was great !
Literally cannot think of one thing that wasn’t perfect !
Give this Sherwood Park location a try !
Had a wonderful meal at Vivo in the Park. From the appetizer, pasta, protein and veggies everything was delicious . our server,Jordan was very helpful suggesting the food choices and amounts that would feed our group of 5. As we were celebrating a birthday the tiramisu that they gave my son for desert was greatly appreciated. If you haven’t been to this gem in the park, you really should go.
Unsure at this point. For the few diners that were in the restaurant, the service was poor and the time it took to get items from the happy hour menu was nearly an hour. As we had an event to make it to and told our server when we sat down that time was short (knowing that in Italy, you take your time to dine) , the experience was disappointing for "bar grub" essentially.
Service was excellent. Food was amazing as always, except the pasta came out cold - thankfully still delish. They comped the desert for 2 which was incredible.
