I've been now for Happy Hour, brunch, and dinner, and every time i've been the food has been amazing and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend. It's small and has a kind of vibe like Palm Springs.. very cool place!

Broad menu. Wonderful food in a cozy, nostalgic venue reminiscent of Beverly Hills’ Golden Age. Staff was very attentive. It was easy to carry on a private conversation and the courses were times appropriately for an intimate couple’s dining experience.
I have always loved the Avalon, it was so lovely to bring my mom. She loved it too despite the rain... it’s so charming, the service is always fantastic and the food is perfect.
I have been to Viviane several times. Each time is better and better and more perfect. I highly recommend that one goes for a most enjoyable dining experience with friends, family, co workers, out of town ers:) sure bet!!!!
Cool little poolside spot, but honestly, nothing terribly special. I’d return, but only if I’m staying at the hotel or in the neighborhood.

Valentine’s Day dinner was superb in every respect. Good value, too, even with a prix fixe menu.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. I found it by chance... because not many restaurants are open on Christmas. It was in a lovely boutique hotel, which was so pretty. The food was great and the service was as well.

New items on the menu that are wonderful:
Prosciutto with burrata and arugula was light and delicious, especially with the sprinkle of pomegranate seeds.
Avocado toast with egg slices is zesty and a perfect starter.
The recommended scallops entree was that much sought after delicate interior and Carmel crust. The pureed cauliflower, so much more than potatoes would have been.
This is my go to for a quiet business meal or after work meet-up with friends.
We had appetizers.... Tuna Tartar--- it was ok, nothing great
Burrata with peaches-- nice presentation, but I expected the grilled peaches to be off the grill, not out of the refrigerator
Caesar Salad---- it was ok
Main course Hamburger--- very good and tasty
Salmon---- not too bac
Chicken---- one couple wanted to share, but we've never seen such a small chicken. It was very tasty, but it took up less space than computer mouse.
Our host was amazing ,the food excellent and overall a great time. Only compaint istyat martini glasses are way too small
The dinner was delicious and our waitress was terrific.
The one issue we had, which was a consensus, was with the chocolate brownie/cake item. It was overly chocolatey. I could imagine this being dialed down a little and being delicious. It was too rich and with only 2 very small bites it was too much. ( No I am not lactose intolerant. lol)
Overall, Viviane was a great little gem that I enjoy hanging out with my friends every now and again. We will definitely go back again!
Really enjoyed the staff and service here. I'm a little jaded because I stay at the hotel often so I've had everything on the menu. Scallops are very good.
Very much enjoyed sitting by the pool. The food was wonderful as well as the service and ambiance.
What a delightful place. I have driven by it hundreds of times and had missed it. The salmon tacos were unbelievable, and the service was terrific. Bravo.

The service was great. The cobb salad I ordered was a generous portion and was tasty. I enjoyed the stylish decor, but it did get quite loud inside toward the end of our lunch due to the amount of people dining. It was difficult to hear by guest and we were a party of 2!

Awesome intimate dining by the pool in a quaint boutique hotel in quiet corner of Beverly Hills. Service was extremely attentive and knowledgable about food and wine selection. I recommend the grilled octopus salad as an entree. Some interesting craft cocktails as well.

60's vibe with great food and cocktails. I enjoy dining outside during the summer around the kidney-shaped pool. This is the perfect place to have a quiet getaway meal with friends, or as I often do, a business meeting. My favorite meals are the grilled octopus with lentils, hamburger, and happy hour appetizers.
This place has gone downhill he last two years. I used to come a couple times a week for business. They changed the menu and now it's a $75 for a couple of salads and sodas. Food is poor. Price is way too high.

Food was great but service wasn't anything special. Waiter left us waiting and offered us no water, plates or utensils. What became even more frustrating was that there was a total of 4 tables (including ours) and we felt like an inconvenience. I've been here multiple times and have never encountered this service before, rethinking my next visit.
We sat at a poolside table for excellent food and attentive service with my dog! Food was very good - the chef lets the ingredients shine, making a simple, but tasty dish. This is a great spot to meet for drinks and appetizers and then segway into dinner. Indoor dining is available as well ad they have a full bar. I had a hearty ceasar salad and grilled octopus appetizer. The kitchen was able to change the chorizo lentils to a salad on the octopus. I appreciated the kitchen's willingness to change certain parts of a meal per my request. Scallops on risotto were great as was the grilled salmon.
Came here with a friend for a bite to eat. We tried the Octopus, the beet salad and the tuna tartar. It was all good, and light.
Stayed here a few times and found the services really great. I like the cocktails and the menu, while not extensive, is very good.
The food at Saturday brunch was fine but the pounding music at poolside was inexcusable and ruined the experience. What is the point of a DJ at 1pm?
Viviane at the Avalon Hotel went above and beyond our executions. We were in town for a wedding and were not sure how many people were going to have at our table. The staff set up a table for 12, then when we thought there were going to be 9 took off 3 place settings. When two more of our group showed up: no problem. We dined in a cabaña next to the pool. Marc was our water and he was very patient with a mostly out of town group. He was knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly without being overbearing. The food was great also.
The waiter was horrible and clearly didn't want to be there. The food was average at best.

We paid an additional fee to ensure a cabana table by the pool, which was lovely. The food was very mediocre.
The cabanas are a huge feature of this location. Yet, the procedures to reserve them are so ambiguous that they can nearly be construed as arbitrary (dangerous move in a scene as diverse as LA). So my suggestion is simple: Figure out a basic policy around cabana reservations, communicate that in-house, post it for the public to see, and then stick to it! Seriously, save yourselves from being slapped with a discrimination lawsuit.
The waitstaff and retro atmosphere were amazing. Sadly the food was not reflective of the prices. We had scallops and risotto which were lovely but the steaks we ordered were very tough and flavorless and the broccolini was nearly raw and inedible. Hopefully it was just an off night in the kitchen as everything else was lovely.
