Viviane at the Avalon Beverly Hills Hotel
We are open 7 days a week, serving Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, as well as Brunch on weekends. Join us all summer long for our Sunday brunch pool party from noon to 5pm.
The service was excellent. Our waitress was charming and helpful. Cocktails were mixed just the way we asked. Food was terrific. Everyone was friendly.
Fun place eating outside by a lovely pool. Really good food we shared beet and avocado salad and both had home made pasta. Many places closed on Sunday night so we were happy to have good meal in nice setting. We will be back.
The restaurant was recommended as a "great brunch" location, however, it could not have been farther from that billing. The service was very sultry (even by LA standards), we had to ask for things several times before it was brought, the poached eggs were essentially hard boiled eggs, and the drinks were seriously off. I guess the courtyard patio setting and pool was "fun" and the design "au courant", but I do not think it belongs on a "top restaurant" spot. Much better options exist in this neighborhood of LA and elsewhere for that matter.
It was definitely a pleasant surprise like a hidden gem! Very romantic and cute.
Worst experience I’ve ever had with a hostess - love this place and have always had a great tine here, but I hope to never have a repeat of this last experience. Wait staff was great as always.
Cute place. Great neighborhood restaurant option.
Great food especially dine LA menu with good foods and drinks match up so well.
Sitting by the pool in the sunshine, eating good food with my sister -- it was a perfect southern California day, evocative of mid-century Los Angeles.
Food was ok. Prices were way too high. And the service was crap.
Great food ambiance and service
hidden gem for a nice casual lunch with delicious fresh food
Love the outdoor seating by the pool. My chicken schnitzel was so over cooked it was dried out old leather. The salad was uninspired. The sober and berries was excellent.
Rainy day with lovely service and delicious food!
We were really looking forward to going here. Perhaps our expectations were a bit too high. $65 per person for the buffet-style brunch which we thought was on par with a basic brunch complete with stale waffles, cold meats that should have been warm, etc etc. I think they were understaffed as well on a busy Sunday. It seemed they only had two on the wait staff, which made getting refills, clearing plates, check a chore for them. Disappointing.....
Viviane has such great ambience!! We were lucky to get a table outside on the pool deck! Service was great!
Nice atmosphere. Good food; service. Looking forward to next visit.
Loved the ambiance and outdoor poolside experience. Very romantic.
I love this place for special occasions (seated in a cabana around the pool) or even just a breakfast meeting. Food and service are excellent. A little pricy but not out of line. It’s got a great vibe.
Excellent service from the valet to the server. Delicious fresh food. Relaxed atmosphere.
The Easter buffet was fantastic. Crab, oysters, tons of cheeses, waffles, french toast, prime rib, an omelet bar, and a bloody mary bar. With all of that, I had my choice of tables. I don't know why word hasn't gotten out about this restaurant yet but I plan to go back soon. Not only is the service nice and attentive but the other customers were friendly too.
Viviane was a cute atmosphere, but the food was VERY over-priced. We ate there for the Easter brunch and it was fixed price per person. The omlette bar and cold food was fine, but the quiche was cold, the pastries weren't fresh and the $65/person didn't even include a mimosa. I would only go back if I were staying in the hotel.
We don't mind spending top dollar for a great experience. This was just okay. Food was fine. Service was "meh." $100 later and we were left a little disappointed.
Excellent service, and always a nice relaxed vibe and chic decor.
This was at least my 4th lunch at Viviane at the Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills and it has never disappointed. The decor and atmosphere are light, bright, fun and sophisticated at the same time. The menu is not huge but every delicious dish that I’ve tried makes a larger menu unnecessary. The salad Niscoise is perfect and they make the best grilled chicken sandwich. The glass wall looks out on the pool and you can request a patio table. A great place for a meeting or just meeting a friend.
Thank you so much for your review! We're thrilled that you enjoyed your experience and have made this one of your regular lunch spots! We hope you can join us for brunch soon - we have an incredible Chicken and Waffles that will change your life! Warmly, Hilary
Valentine’s Day at Vivían was another terrific experience (we ate here last year, too!). Nestled to the left side of the lobby of the Avalon hotel, a converted ‘50’s apartment building, the restaurant keeps the vintage look and feel but the menu is su courant.
the prix fixed menu was good value on this night, four courses for $75, with enough choices to please most tastes.
The truffled tortellini were delectable and my wife raved about the ratatouille appetizer.
Our halibut in cauliflower sauce was a hit, and vanilla crepe with passion fruit dessert crowned the meal.
As always… Fantastic!
Food was good and nice setting. Absolutely no flexibility in menu. Asked for two changes and both times “no” we do not do that. Disappointing. When you spend a couple hundred dollars for dinner surely there can be a little flexibility pairings or a substitute Would not make adaptations to menu at all. Server completely rushed us. Meal came out when o pay half through our app even though I said we were no rush when she repeatedly came by to take our order. Food deliver knew I was not happy and server immediately turn on the niceties - but totally fake nice
It was fine. It was pretty empty, but service was still a bit slow, starting at the valet and continuing into food service. The food was pretty good, the short rib was a standout. The drinks were also pretty good, but very expensive. Not much atmosphere. Probably a good option if you're staying at the hotel, otherwise maybe a little pricey for the total experience.
Ate lunch at Viviane during dineLA. The food was amazing and the portions were generous. The restaurant is small, when it filled up it was really noisy. There is lovely outdoor seating by the pool but unfortunately it was raining. Maybe next time, I look forward to trying the regular menu.
As always... great.
As always, the staff at Viviane was courteous and gracious, and went out of their way to make my birthday celebration with my family very special. This is by far my favorite restaurant in the LA area, and, as an added bonus, they are the first in the region to carry Bob Dylan‘s signature rye whiskey “Heaven’s Door.“
The food was really nice, the place is not happening, but if you look for relaxing environment and good food you will not be disappointed.
Lovely ambiance. Phenomenal food. The service was prompt and careful. We had the pleasure of visiting with Chef Baxter— great host. Talented chef.
Food was delicious. Dishes are small though so order extra. Enjoyed sitting out by the pool.
The food was delicious, the service was attentive and pleasant, and the atmosphere was classy and chill!
Wonderful food, fair prices, beautiful outdoor ambience, excellent service.
The food was decent and everyone enjoyed their meals. The fruit was good. It is a very relaxing place to have a meal and talk.
Great, food, great service, great environment! It's a wonderful restaurant to go to with family, friends and business.
Great ambiance and convenient valet parking. Good food and service.
