Exquisite food, sweet humans, and a really genuine vibe. This is the place to go if you are looking to treat yourself. The experience is so, so worth it. Also fried chicken take out is unreal and I highly recommend!!!

We love Vivian! Our favorite brunch spot and I always feel lucky when I’m able to snag a reservation - very popular for brunch with good reason(s)!

We started with mimosas and the sticky bun - OH My Gosh! My partner said he would have just a bite - fortunately he ate almost half cause I would have eaten the entire thing an been so full I wouldn’t have been able to eat my delicious crab omelet soufflé - seriously! It is so so very good! Loads of crab, tender and amazing. My partner had the biscuits and gravy with eggs - he loved it.

Great place, amazing people and I’m so so happy they are surviving ‘‘tis crazy pandemic.

We ate brunch last Sunday at Vivian’s. We sat outside under their awning and it was very nice. There were many items on the menu that looked appealing and we saw various menu items passing us by. We both had the chicken and biscuit with sausage gravy. It was yummy as were their special potatoes. One of us had a delicious Bloody Mary, while the other had a nice rose. The wines that they have are very reasonable; many that we were familiar with. The staff are very nice as well. They are following COVID guidelines; they have a bottle of hand sanitizer on the table as well. Parking was easy too.

Best restaurant around. Food is always outstanding. Staff are incredibly kind and attentive. Probably my favorite restaurant.

Party of 4 had such a great experience at Vivian. The beef tartar was so good, that you won’t want to share it. Good portion for two people but you will want more because it’s so good. We had the steak, veal and scallops and each dish was simply amazing. If I had to rank them based on my personal preference, I would say steak, veal and then scallops but all of them were seriously incredible. The server was very helpful and attentive and laughed our stupid jokes. Overall it was a great night out and I would highly recommend it.

I have eaten here many times and it’s one of the best run small restaurants in Asheville!

We had such a great experience at Vivian. It was almost enough to make us forget Covid. We dined outdoors on the heated patio. It was nice and warm on a very cold night. The staff were so sweet, friendly, and on top of all our needs. We brought our dog (our Airbnb required that we not leave her behind) and they doted on her. Our dinners were fantastic. The salad had the most flavorful greens I’ve had in the off season, which leads me to believe they have an amazing veggie supplier. The steak dinner was fantastic. Rutabaga soup was so creamy and perfect. Would go back without question.

Vivian provides an innovative cuisine in a fun atmosphere in the River Arts. We chose seating in the bar area, which we always enjoy. The servers are always extremely knowledgeable of the food and drink. The menu and drink specials never dissappoint. While you could enjoy a lovely meal with only the small plates, the entrees are exceptional. I have Celiac Disease. Upon arrival, a menu was marked and ready for me to have a variety of safe and delicious choices. We love Vivian and will visit often.

Fantastic dining experience. Scallops were perfectly done and served in the most unique way. Husbands steak was the best I’ve ever tasted. Will absolutely be back next time we are in town!

Perfectly timed meal! Great food but it comes out too quick or too slow, it’s taken down a few notches. Not here, our server ensured the dishes spaced just right.

Very creative appetizers, french onion soup dip with the grilled country bread was outstanding and the veal chop with all the veggies and creamy sauce was delicious. Staff was so kind and very pleasant talking with them.

This was the first time we went to Vivian and we will definitely go back the next time we are in Asheville. The food was excellent and the service was great. I was impressed with how well they followed the Covid safety guidelines.

Food was edible, nothing outstanding: Canalones needed acid and salt, fish was cooked well but the crispy skin tasted of rancid fry oil, steak was over salted and bathing in vinegar but temp was good.

The staff was outstanding. Welcoming an gracious without any pretense. You pay for the service, not the food.

Based on our experience we are willing to try Vivian again in the future.

This place never disappoints, word of warning the portions are big, usually that means not good, but a big portion of great food. Plan a nap post meal.

Vivian provided a lovely dinner and the service was great. The chicken croquettes were delicious and the filet was cooked a perfect medium rare. The sauce was strongly flavored and paired well. I forgot to write down her name, but I was on the patio and she was really great especially after the rest of my party couldn’t come. Thank you for the service and recommendations on the wine!

Smoked oysters, a scallop quenelle,
Veal chop and filet mignon. Service was amazing as well. Great wine list and interesting cocktail menu too. 😋 Can't wait to return for another fabulous meal ❣❣

I was very impressed with the COVID measures and friendliness of the service. The food was good but not great.

Delightful evening! All aspects of the night were excellent. Our server was very pleasant, the food - my scallop dish and my spouse's stripped bass -were each delicious. I do hope the pandemic doesn't cause any more problems for one of our favorite restaurants!

Love this place! The people, the food, the vibe...absolute perfection! We always enjoy sharing a few appetizers (the soufflé and the quenelle are favorites) and then move on to their excellent mains. I highly recommend Vivian!

Such a unique experience .. would say the dishes are innovative but not pretentious with an authentic farm to table approach .. The restaurant feels intimate and welcoming .. Each dish from our salad to dessert were unusual and delicious ..the orange tart memorable and my trout was perfectly prepared , the server also recommended a delicious wine that went with both our chosen entrees ..staff made you feel comfortable .. overall a wonderful meal

Perfect fried chicken! Holy cow the best I have ever had

I have been to Vivian once before, so my expectations were pretty high based on my previous experience. This dining experience left so very much to be desired. The oysters were cold when they should’ve been hot, the desserts were mediocre at best, one of my companions ordered the scallops and they were just not good.

Hubby and I love to go I dates when ever we are visiting and this was the perfect place

Loved the smoked oysters which were different than any I’ve had before. Trout was delicious and steak good but will get sauce on side next time. Great wine pairing from hostess who did a great job explaining the glass choices - new wine I will enjoy again in the future!

This was my first visit and I will definitely be back. What a wonderful restaurant in all aspects. Even though I chose the wine, I was not thrilled with it but that's on me. Our cocktails and the food was top notch.

Wow, it's always a fantastic treat to visit Vivian. You can taste the love that the owners have for this place and it makes for a truly exceptional experience. Anytime I think of a restaurant that speaks to the Asheville culinary scene, my first thought is Vivian. The restaurant itself is unpretentious but quaint with a super cute and cozy interior. We appreciated the safety protocols and the wonderful service too! Make sure to come hungry and leave room for appetizers and desserts (or two!)
