Vivians was as good as ever. They serve a wonderful brunch. Food was delicious and service very good. They even accommodated us by making something we like that is not on the menu at the moment. They were out of several things but our reservation was late and there was still plenty to choose from. Because they were out of some items they sent us home with a free box of wonderful bakery items.
Best meal we had in Asheville
Fantastic food with wonderfully attentive and personable service.
Food and service was excellent. Tile fish entree was delicious!
This is the best fine dining restaurant in Asheville by far.
Food was exceptional. Service was terrific too
Good cocktails, minimalist ambiance. Descriptions of food did not match actual dish. Deviled eggs, roasted Duck and fried chicken were excellent. Savory tart was not a tart but a muffin, dry and not cheesy as described. Scallop Quenelle did not taste like scallops. Same with chocolate tart which was not a pastry but a dry brownie with ice cream although it was chocolaty. Overall food and service were good.
We really enjoyed our meal last night. Food was perfect and staff was very attentive! We will be back
This is without a doubt a magical cosy hideaway place.. the food creations are absolutely top notch, and delicious! The cocktails are dreamy.. They have an Impressive wine list.. if you’re in Asheville.. you must pop into this dreamy spot!
Vivían has unique dishes that are always delicious, plus happy and knowledgeable staff.
The grouper was stupendous, the chanterelles were tasty and the burata was just so so.
Five star everything. Outstanding!
Was a great brunch date!
Food and service was excellent as always! Music choice does not really fit the ambiance and I missed the cute table that is usually decorated in the middle of the dining room, which added charm. But still one of my Asheville favorites!
Consistently one of Asheville's best restaurants. I crave the souffle and quenelle in-between visits. Thank you, Chef Josiah and Shannon, for always making a lovely meal.
Food and service was great. Will definitely go back when in Ashville.
We had a great meal. There was absolutely nothing left on our plates, for all 3 courses. I was stuffed when I left but didn't feel bad about anything I ate, it was ALL good. We all ordered something completely different. I have never eaten anywhere where all of the food was so consistently good.
Really enjoyed our dinner. Love the look of the restaurant and service was excellent.
Enjoyed the staff and food
Our first time at this restaurant. It is a gem. Made reservations while we were there to come back. Food was really nice.
My mother and I split each dish we ordered, ribeye steak, savory tart, heirloom salad, Nordic deviled eggs and sorbet. Everything was delicious, just not a lot of it for the money, except for the the steak and sorbet; plenty of both of those.
Wonderful dinner and service. We had a belated anniversary dinner with friends which I mentioned when booking. Bought each of us a complimentary glass of bubbly! Very thoughtful and nice touch. Hope to get in for brunch soon
Favorite restaurant in Asheville
My husband and I loved our dinner here. Our server was very friendly and did a great job. I don’t drink alcohol and they have two mocktail drinks on the menu. I really appreciate that.
A favorite place that had an off night. Their famous fried chicken and biscuit were both left unattended too long in the oven last night. Having had it four other times this time was off. Nevertheless a terrific menu for both food and drinks so we’ll be back for another go.
This place was fantastic, start to finish. Scallop quenelle was unreal. My partner said it was one of the best things he’s ever eaten. Curried trout also a winner. Service was awesome. We left stuffed and happy. Wish we could give more stars.
Loved Vivian again! Never disappoints. We love the inventive use of regional foods and great local items. The cocktails are also super creative and delicious. We will see you again.
Wonderful dining experience. Great food recommendations and food! 10/10 recommend, especially the steak.
Delicious food and good service. The starter menu is a particular standout.
Great service and atmosphere and food was excellent
We had been to Vivians two years ago. The menu was very red meat oriented and did not appeal to our overall group. It wasn't bad at all, just simply not our tastes. We decided to give it another try and we were not disappointed. Much more varied menu, fish options, ceviche appetizer, etc. Food was very good and our service was attentive and friendly. Definitely would go back
Amazing food, drinks and service. Can’t wait to return.
Excellent dining experience from the food to the awesome service
Love this place. Have been twice for brunch, looking forward to eating there in the evening.
Didn’t think I would finish the chicken biscuit but it was so delicious I’m embarrassed to say I did!
Great service, great food, great drink!
We went to Vivian for a Sunday brunch, looking forward to our first time dining there since the the space became Vivian under new owners a while ago. My dining partner and I both ordered Eggs Benedict Florentine on a split, hearty, biscuit quite unlike the usual, white ones that "mom used to make" and potatoes, which come as an ample, chunky, deep fried portion with a bit of cheese. It all looked sooo good we immediately dove in with great expectation only to find the Eggs Benedicts on both our plates to be cold, not even luke warm! The potatoes were crispy outside and perfectly done inside, though - quite good. I wish I could assign five stars to the whole meal because the eggs were perfectly cooked and the spinach/sauce was tasty, but whoever oversees the kitchen needs to temp-check the food before it is delivered to patrons.
Wonderful spot. Our server, Sal, was excellent. Food was delicious and we loved the ambience. Highly recommend Vivian.
This was my second visit to Vivian as I came when they first opened 3-1/2 years ago. The owners were still on site and made you feel at home. It was then incredible in all regards from food, service, drinks and creativity. It is also a value for one of if not the best restaurant in Asheville. It did not disappoint once more. The standout Scallop Quenelle is creative rich and luxurious with a scallop pate choux in a velvety creamy lobster sauce and chunks of lobster. The beef tartare was one of the best ever albeit a bit salty maybe due to the capers. The burrata was melt in your mouth. The Steak Vivian was decadent and perfectly executed and the duck fat potatoes a perfect accompaniment. The pork schnitzel stole the show as it was simply sublime crispy tender and flavorful. A creative cocktail menu still abounds. The only disappointment was the chocolate tart dessert. The rye crust a bit too thick and hard as was the chocolate cremeux interior like hard ganache. It was hard to eat. A thinner crackly crust with softer creamer chocolate would have worked better. The cherry swirl ice cream side was delicious. Still 5 stars and one of my favorite restaurants in the country.
Food was excellent and the service delightful.
Very good food…great flavors…very unique. You’ll find creations here that you will not find anywhere else. Loved it!
