About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Romantic
  • Neighborhood gem
"The sixth location in the MPR Restaurant Group--the former La Scala Ristorante-- is now open and features a whole new lineup of ""pizza, pasta & pesce.""
Pizza Our brick pizza oven----the centerpiece of our new location-- is surrounded by our new chef’s table that seats up to 15 guests. Our specialty Vito e Vino pizza will feature hand stretched crusts topped with an all new selection of mouth-watering ingredients.
Pasta Our homemade pasta will focus of the Puglia region of Italy and Bari, the birthplace of my dad’s (Vito) parents. There is nothing quite like the rustic flavor of handmade pasta and fresh sauce to bring you to Italy!
Pesce Located on the coast, Bari was also the inspiration for the “pesce” (fish) portion of our menu. We will have the seafood you already enjoy--such as clams, oysters, lobster, shrimp and scallops. We will also entice you with a wide variety of fish such as walleye, tuna & red mullet--which may soon be your new favorites!

Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience. They are under construction and are closing. The bread was nice and warm. Meatball was good but could have been warmer. Salad was wilted. Pizza was burnt, but they took it off the bill. But the pasta with vodka sauce was the best we ever had! Waiter was honest about place and food. We were expecting more!

Dinner was delicious. Disappointed that a simple chef salad was not included. Waitress was friendly and efficient. We sat at the bar after dinner, the bartender was very attentive and friendly.

We arrived as a party of 4 on a Tuesday night. While several areas of the restaurant were completely empty, we were seated next to a table of 11 set out to enjoy very noisy ladies night out. They were set on having a good time (certainly not a bad thing), but the waiter's choice of sitting us next to them, when the rest of the place was almost vacant was unacceptable. We could hardly carry on a conversation. The table itself was unstable and the slightest pressure turned it into a teeter-totter. The menu heavily favoured a seafood taste, so if your not into scampi or scallops, look elsewhere. Not a shellfish fan myself, I ordered from the very limited pasta selection. The pasta was overcooked, lukewarm and the sauce was totally without character. I swear it came from a can. Another in our party ordered the pasta with vodka sauce with the same result. The waiter, while he tried hard, was all alone and clearly overwhelmed by the number of guests he was required to attend to. Perhaps that is why the food came out cold. If you are looking for a quiet ambiance, traditional Italian food and great service...go elsewhere. Definitely not worth the drive to East Amherst!

Beautiful restaurant. Recommend the server give the price of specials of the day. Very surprised the amount charged. The asparagus were tough and not edible.

this was not our first visit and will certainly not be our last! The restaurant service was impeccable as was the quality of food. We think highly of this family's group of restaurants and feel like each time we go we can't wait to return! An added bonus was the music in the lounge area. If there is one improvement that can be made it is the service in the bar area - with music playing and customers willing to stay there should be more attention made to serve them. the staff was focused on leaving for the evening and honestly could have paid attention to the customers. we were one out of only a few groups there and twice had to ask for more to drink - as the designated driver I can assure you it was not just alcohol so there should be willingness to let customers know their order matters more than packing up and waiting to go home.
