We look forward to serving you.
The food is and tastes like “real” food. Like straight from the farm and forrest. All truly home made. The opposite of chain concept restaurants and sot corporate America food substitutes.
The staff was super caring and sincere. The cool and friendly Italian owners blended in seamlessly and elevate the experience to an even next level that I thought was not possible. This restaurant was a life long love at first sight. Mmmmm
love the food, wine, gelato and ambiance.....the service was great too!
Came here for Mother’s Day Brunch and the cafe is super cute! We had reservations and a gorgeous table. The food came fast, the staff were attentive. We ordered their açaí bowl, 2 egg omelette combo, a European waffle and lasagna (from lunch menu) we rounded it off with coffee, gelato mimosa and smoothie. All were yummy. For dessert, we had their gelato flight! Perfect ending! I’ll will definitely be back for lunch and dinner. The location is inside The Camp, so we strolled and window shopped to walk away the calories. Grazie Vitaly!
Good casual place for fresh pasta, gelato and a glass of wine
Wonderful friendly service, great latte, and delicious food.
My son and I had dinner here before a performance at the Segerstrom Concert Hall. The food was generous in proportions. My son started with a Caesar salad that he thought was a starter salad but it was so generous that he took some of it home. The minestrone soup was flavorful and fresh tasting. My son enjoyed his fettucini with pesto. This was our first visit but will not be our last. The only hiccup was that the staff seemed overwhelmed serving gelato to walk up customers so we needed to catch their eye to indicate we needed to order our main course. Otherwise, a positive experience with reasonable prices.
We were in the area visiting a friends new place and made reservations here for brunch. It was last minute so this was one of the only places available around normal brunch hours / we didn't want to wait in line. Overall I had a decent experience here, but I want to leave a review for those who might find themselves in a pinch like myself and hopefully get your expectations set for what this place is truly like.
I did like this spot don't get me wrong. Their waffles are amazing and did I mention they have a gelato stand in shop? But one thing you should note is this is not a normal restaurant, it has a dining area but it also has a walk up and order area as well. If you don't make reservations you can sit wherever you like. The table we were at was next to the gelato so every time someone came in for gelato they were right next to our table. This place would be great for a quick bite to eat with a friend since it's next to cute boutiques and other cool stores.
Does "Healthy Italian" sound like an oxymoron? Not at Vitaly, a casual, one-of-a kind restaurant in hip little shopping area. Fresh everything, including gluten-free pasta made right there. Unique preparations using deliciously cooked vegetables with your choice of "protein, that is, grilled chicken, fish, or steak. It is a small restaurant with in door and out door seating. Service is extremely friendly, the do-anything-for-you owner is very helpful choosing dishes for you based on what you tell him you like. To top it off, they have a gelato shop right in the restaurant with flavors I have seen only at this restaurant. Laid back, friendly, and excellent, healthy fare. What else is there in a restaurant?
As always, the food is delicious. Love the homemade pasta and fresh veggies. The owner seems very passionate about the food. However, service was terrible. There were more people working than customers and they were mainly standing around. The waitress seemed confused by their menu, when there was a spill they seemed totally spaced out and we had to ask several times to bring towels. They hardly checked on our group and we had to ask for things that should have been brought. It is a tiny place, so when one asks for a spoon not sure why it would take so long to get it to the table. Hope they get their act together as meals are yummy and it is a cute little place.
Very nice little place with a quiet setting and good food. Vitaly has a Gelato shop as part of their business and most people are coming through for the Gelato but the meals, wine and desert was great. The wait staff were very nice and overall a very good experience.
Vitaly Caffe is one of our local restaurants that we love to frequent and support. The food is fresh, always consistently delicious, nice friendly casual setting and service, and the best gelato in town! Love the coffee bar, also! We took my mother in law there for her birthday lunch and had a wonderful celebration and the best service!
Quality, simple food in a cafe environment. Especially love the gelato!
Wines are a bit expensive...Over $10 a glass at Happy Hour!
Tried some new items on the menu and was sooo happy with everything! The fried flatbread (forgot name) was the fluffiest puffy pouches to go with the chef's board of an assortment of cheeses and meats. And the mushroom ravioli was very rich and delicious. The calzone was just okay, but we definitely left very full and very very happy.
This is the second year in a row for Valentine's dinner at Vitaly. Their food, service, and overall experience was impeccable. If you are looking for Italian food from the motherland, this is the place to be.
What a pleasant treat! We initially reserved inside, but none was available, it turned out beautifully. Service was great and food was Amazing! Will be back🌺
Vitaly never disappoints. Consistent great food. Outstanding service.
Great atmosphere, delicious food, amazing service
Always great food and service. Our local go-to at least 2x/week.
The food, the atmosphere, and Mualla keeps us coming back again and again to Vitaly. By far my favorite restaurant for a date!
This is our favorite Italian restaurant. We have been customers since inception. Having an Italian heritage I can attest to how delicious the food is and it's made fresh!
NICE PLACE -STAFF WAS SWEET, OUR SERVER WAS NOT ACCOMMODATING AND MADE US FEEL LIKE WE WERE IMPOSING ON HER
The service was decent but not that attentive. The butternut squash ravioli was as good the version lean cuisine makes but for 17.50 (not kidding). It just didn't seem "homemade fresh.". My friend had the chicken and it was sadly prepared and very salty and dry. The roasted potatoes were edible but Denny's probably does a better job. The best part of the meal and that I feel they are best at creating is the pumpkin gelato. It was flavorful and creamier than most gelato I've tasted, even in Venice, Italy. If you want a mediocre pasta dish, eat at Vitaly, but your dollar will go farther at Modo Mio (Crystal Cove) as taste goes. I always like to try the Camp for hip restaurants and nouvelle cuisine, but this isn't the Italian food you would hope for. It just gets worse and worse every year. If you nor on a budget there are many other options and if you are, Lucci's in HB tastes better.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the trendy, casual ambience. Perfect for dinner before a show at Segerstrom. We had a party of 8 and shared several entrees. Loved it all. Would absolutely recommend.
delicious & fresh food. portions are kind of on the small side. service was god’s but could have been friendlier. super cute decor with an Italian market feel.
My friends and I wanted to go to the Camp but we couldn’t decide where to eat, until my friend stumbled upon this Caffé. We’ve been at the Camp many times but we’ve never actually eaten at the Caffes. This Caffé was very excellent and the man who served us was very sweet & helpful!! Would totally recommend 100%! & would go back again soon!!!
It was wonderful! We always bring our friends here
We love everything about Vitaly! Great people, food, coffee, service, ambience.
Great food! This place has a European vibe to it being half coffee/dessert and half restaurant, but the pasta was delicious. I had the seasonal butternut squash ravioli and my husband had the lasagna. We also did the gelato tasting of 5 flavors and they have a lot of unique flavors. I would highly recommend!
Nice place. Quality ingredients. Friendly s service.
It was amazing.
We always love coming to Vitaly! Such warm and wonderful people. The service, food and music are exceptional! And the gelato is heaven.
Our waitress was very friendly and helpful... I would have given 5 stars for her service, but a couple of the other employees seemed rather inexperienced and indifferent. The food & drink delivery were rather slow, and it wasn’t really busy.
The food was good, not exceptional. they offer gluten free and vegan options. Their gelato is probably the best I’ve had outside of Italy! The location is fun, several outside and a few inside tables.. a casual atmosphere.
We were disappointed they don’t serve bread with their pasta dishes.
Amazing food, amazing service. I’ve gone so many times, and I’ll be back again as soon as I can.
Terrific meal. The food, service, and ambiance were terrific.
The owner was present the night my group of eight dined at Vitaly. It was a very memorable experience. We all loved the food and the staff was amazing!
The staff is always so attentive and they remember their customers. One of our favorite spots.
It was good except when we arrived they said they didn’t have our reservation. Very weird as I booked it with open table.
This was my third time eating the fabulous food at Vitaly! This time I took a friend who had never been there and she was WOWED!!! That antioxidant soup is simply spectacular. I have yet to eat the handmade gelato, which they are known for, because I was completely full and satisfied after the soup and a bowl of fresh fettuccini with tomato and basil sauce. If I lived in Costa Mesa I would eat there everyday!
The service was EXTREMELY slow. There were six customers and four wait saff.
