You will come back after you try our cebiche, and pisco sour!
The dishes we picked were bland. Would try again and ask for recommendations on the dish. Service was slow to take our drink and appetizer order. Food came out fast.
Great Service great food as always!
I brought one of the pickiest eaters with me and she Was is all ! Absolutely loved everything
The food was absolutely wonderful
The food was absolutely delicious the service was wonderful. I can’t wait to go back
Casual environment, kind of place you come for the food.
Great food and very friendly service. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous
We ordered two seafood dishes which were very tasty and an excellent value.
Food was excellent. Will definitely return
Went to Vista Peru while they had outdoor dining and the staff took their time to really clean from one group to the next. Our food was incredible, I ate so much I had trouble walking to my car afterwards because the food was so tasty. Looking forward to going back when I can try their indoor dining!
Waitress was good but food took well over an hour and there were only 5 tables occupied. Two entrees came out at one time and 15 minutes later the other two guests were served. One entree was ceviche which had to have been made in advance. Maybe Covid related but food was great. I would try again-it May have just been the day
Authentic Peruvian, good portion size with good ingredients. Service slightly slow but not bad at all. Would recommend the Paella Marisco, the grilled beef heart, and classic ceviche.
Good food but the services was too slow.
Our reservation was at 8, and we didn’t get seated till 9!!!
Waited 58 mins to be seated, another 26 for drinks and an extra 22mins for appetizers. NOT GOOD. Manager NEVER came to greet/apologize. We spent $200 for 3 people and the food was HORRIBLE! Overcooked seafood and bland food. Not worth it. Go someplace else. Only good thing was our server, IRIS, she was nice, professional and courteous. Only one who cares. Do NOT go to Vista Peru, waste of money and time.
The food was delicious! The server was very nice and they were actually pretty quick to get all our food out
Authentic Peruvian food
My wife and I had outdoor dinner at this restaurant during the pandemic in Philadelphia. It was fantastic that we were able to sit in the street which was closed off for outdoor dining. It’s not fair to judge the restaurant’s ambience based on the situation however it was noisy. We really like the food and there is a huge menu with a lot of options. The ceviche was the best we have ever had.
Delicious food, great drinks, must try their pisco sour (with flavors, too)!
Amazingly fresh and delicious seafood. Service can be improved. Outdoor dining is always challenging to control the noise.
The ceviche was very, very good. The anticuchos was amazing. The parrillada de mariscos was solid, not as good as the other two. Outdoor seating was very nice, and the passionfruit and mango juices were awesome.
We love this place every time we come! It’s the best place around for authentic Peruvian food!
It was amazing! Food was savory and delicious. Definitely coming back!
Food was delicious!
I get everyone is adjusting to the current circumstances BUT we have eaten out a decent amount since things have reopened and service here was so disappointing.
Never got our ceviche until after our main meal came. Got the WRONG main meal- ordered paella but got the wrong one- of course got a more expensive one that we weee charged fully for. We had also ordered a second drink earlier— it took her about 10 min to come back and tell us they didn’t have the drinks we ordered (because their online menu that they have a code to scan and use for contactless menu is not updated so what’s the point) and then we didn’t get those drinks until we were about to leave so we took them to go. Sucked to spend $25 for 2 drinks that we couldn’t really even really enjoy. we were in a hurry (thought an hour and a half would be enough time but definitely not) so we paid as soon as we got our food. The waitress returned our credit card receipt and never came back for us to express our concerns. We didn’t want to take the time to flags someone down and complain about getting the wrong food, not getting ceviche until after our main meal, the inattentive service- so just sucked it up and dealt with it. Again- would normally never have accepted service like this w/o saying something but we were in a hurry. Guess it was my bad for scheduling something else w/o accounting for more time. So if you go, just make sure you go with lots of patience and the expectations for things to be slow.
I like this place very much. The food is exceptional. Saturday, unfortunately, was not great. Food still good but slow to come out. There was only one person serving, bussing and seating. She had no help. In fact, we couldn’t get drinks because there was no bartender on shift. That was poor planning on the managements part.
Everything was fabulous and food was delicious
Birthday dinner. For the high quality price, the food was average.
Best Peruvian food
The place was nice but the service was erratic although she was great and it wasnt her fault but it was way understaffed and also my food came out somewhat underwhelming. I asked for a medium cooked steak and what I got was well done. Most definitely not coming back here.
Ordered appetizer, served wrong one and argued that was what I ordered. Wanted the octopus and got calamari. Very understaffed, slow service, food was so so. My octopus main course was so rubbery. Will never return
My wife and I enjoyed a meal prior to attending a play at the Arden theater. We began with Tiradito Clasico, which had a bit of heat and was quite good. I ordered the Pulpa Saltado, where the octopus was tender and nicely grilled. The composition of the dish was heavy on the starch side, with both potatoes and rice. My wife ordered the Tacu Tacu con Picante de Mariscos, which was lots of rice and beans with "creamy seafood" rich with clams, mussels, squid and shrimp. The Arroz con Leche for dessert was more like a rice soup than a pudding, but was nicely spiced with lots of cinnamon and a bit of clove. Service was a bit weird. I ordered a glass of wine which took about 15 minutes to find its way to our table. When the dessert menus were delivered, our server took the time to describe the coffee options, but when we ordered coffee, we were told that it was unavailable. She was very nice, but just seemed really inexperienced. Super value for the food quality - we'd certainly return.
Food was amazing. However the service was terrible. The server was very sweet and friendly but you could tell she was either overwhelmed or inexperienced. The manager came to our table to ask how we were doing. We made her aware of our experience, they sent complimentary desserts and explained that it was their busiest night ever, she apologized and asked to give them a second chance.
This was our second time dining at Vista Perú. The first time was fantastic. Unfortunately, we dined there on Valentine's Day, and the restaurant was a disorganized mess. We sat down to eat around 8:00 PM, which was when we had our reservation. We ordered drinks and an appetizer, which we were told would be out in a few minutes. An hour later, our appetizer still had not arrived. While we were waiting, several other tables started to complain that they had been waiting an hour for their food. Two tables around us asked for the check and left without getting their meals. Another diner returned their meal because it was not cooked as ordered, and asked for the check.
Our food finally did arrive, but it was our entrees, and we never received the appetizer that we ordered. Our server seemed surprised that we never got our appetizer. He took my drink when it was empty, but never asked if I wanted another. At that point, we were disappointed and grumpy. I ate my entree, while my husband did not. The server did take my husband's entree off the menu with no problem.
It was a disappointing experience when we all we wanted was to have a nice dinner together on Valentine's Day. Vista Peru took on more than they could handle. The kitchen just could not keep up with the amount of diners. As we left the restaurant, there were probably 20 more people waiting for a table. My dish was tasty so I am leaving 2 stars. Overall, we left the restaurant upset.
Didn’t eat, they over booked reservations and we were waiting for 2 hours.
Valentine’s Day with my wife too long a wait even with reservations for food and drinks
The service was much too slow, and the main course meals were not good. It was Valentines Day, so the restaurant was very busy. It took over 30 minutes to get two glasses of wine, and over 90 minutes to get our ceviche starters. It was well over 2 hours before we got out main course, which we both agreed was not good. Many other patrons were complaining that night. I’d read the reviews citing the poor service, but never imagined it would be so slow. The Pisco Sours we ordered at the upstairs bar while waiting for our table were excellent. And the ceviche Classico was very good.
Very nice pisco sours, and we enjoyed our appetizers. Unfortunately, we had to leave after 2 hours, having never received our entrees. I hope they get their act together at some point, but in the meantime I cannot recommend.
The food was so good, it just took so long to come and my date and I ended up being late to where we were trying to go because of it
We were disappointed on many counts. The host could not find our open table, reconfirmed reservation for the longest time, seated us in the bar area near a drafty door despite requests to move into cozier inner room with plenty turnover, long wait for the waitress who did not follow up for a second drink and brought a quinoa based dish when we had asked for a rice dish. The bone in goat was excessively fatty and tasted quite atrocious. We asked to speak with the manager who arrived after a long delay was apologetic but helpless. Promised us a compensatory meal that we will see if she follows up on
It is sad to say, but they were not prepared for the amount of guests during this past Valentine’s Day ( this past Friday)- from start to finish- horrific service. Poorly trained staff struggled throughout the whole service. When you have to wait 35 minutes to get your check...... I have no more to say.
Delicious, well-executed food in a stylish setting.
The food and drinks never fail to be amazing here, where the ceviche is plentiful and the pisco sours are what I dream of. We randomly ran into the restaurant one night with friends, and now we each separately go back for special occasions; it's that good. I've never been there when it's crowded, so it's never had that annoying party venue thrum. One of my favorite restaurants in Philly - and we go to lots of different places.
