Great food, pleasant service and great location! Will definitely be back in the future.
The food was very good and the service was great, however it was just way too loud. It was almost impossible to have a conversation with anyone at the table, unless they were right next to you. It felt like being at a concert, you wanted to leave just to have some quiet.
It was so loud and hot upstairs. The food was ok but nothing to recommend. I was disappointed because upstairs seating is so cute.
Coffee was served cold....only had thing. Overall an enjoyable meal! Will come again.
We had a 7 month old with our party and the staff was very solicitous of the baby. We really appreciated that.
Very tasty food and great place to go eat. Would recommend to everyone.
Where do I star. Made reservations for 645pm we did not get a table till 655. Meanwhile we keep seeing people walk in n get a table no wait. When I made the reservation we made it clear we were going to use our open-table money, no table near bathrooms or entrance. What do we get a small table next to the upstairs bar n right next to the staircase (what is the point of making a reservation) I order the boar burger medium rare my partner order the pasta. Boar burger was well done n tastes horrible n my patterns pasta had onions (nowhere in the menu it said it has onions he can not digest onions well) I Ofer a different burger took them 15min to bring n other. It should not have taken that long. When we ask for bill the waiter was not able to apply the open table money because the hostess cancel our reservation for no reason causing the voucher to get cancel. Not the waiters fault (he was the only good part of the night really nice guy) he had to get the manager n I explain how the hostess had cancel our reservation for no reason. He try no luck at that point it had been 20 minutes we were irritated n frustrated that something so easy had been ruin because a hostess has no clue what she is doing. Manager took care of our bill for the inconvenience but the experience had been ruin already. Would not be coming back. Every time we had try this restaurant there has always been a problem the the hostess. The table we got should be part of the bar not the regular dinning area. They are really slow n horrible location you got people coming from bar stairs n table around waking all around you the entire time.
This was a brunch for our 21 year old daughter. We were celebrating her birthday. It was really awesome
Best service! Amazing food. Thank you for taking care of us and making our daughter’s 21st birthday special.
Good food, good service, it's very loud and difficult to have a conversation across the table.
Terrific spot in Old Town at the Waterfront and charming decor. Menu offers seasonal options, like a delicious grilled peach salad. Seating at the high tops upstairs is a bit tight, but in a pinch is still worth reserving if that’s the only seats left. Nice for everyday dining or special occasion.
Service was great. Excellent waiter, honored our reservation even though we were late. Saved us a great table for a special occasion as we requested in our reservation.
Part sport bar, part restaurant. Great location. Nice place for dinner with the kids, they have choices for everybody. We had the ribeye, the poke salad, steak and chicken noodle. The overalls is pretty good. The best was the appetizer : calamari.
The service was fast and friendly.
Had a great meal here. Good place for drinks and food with friends. Food isn't going to blow you away like a more specialized restaurant but everything we ate was solid and good. Happy hour goes until 7pm. Beware of loud interior.
We were fortunate to be seated in the rear room of the upstairs of the restaurant as it was much quieter than the tables directly adjacent to the downstairs and upstairs bars. The difference in noise was very large, and we felt like had we not have been seated where we were, conversation would have been difficult. Our server, Olivia, was amazing. She was partnered with another server, whose name escapes me, and was also very good, but Olivia's recommendations were spot on, and she was prompt with order taking for the various phases of our meal. The food was delicious, and the portions were generous, leaving us both feeling satiated while also both taking home part of our meals (my leftovers were great the next day! I had the wild boar chops). The mixed drinks we had were well made and delicious, and did not seem watered down at all. In all, we had a great date night out thanks to going to Virtue.
The food was great and the service was some of the best I’ve had in the area. Highly recommend! Definitely get a reservation if possible, it fills up quickly.
Had a lovely anniversary dinner. Our waiter Ben was top notch!
Great service, Jose our waiter was super friendly and definitely added to the experience we had.
The ambiance of this place is what keeps me coming back despite the continually disappointing food. The decor is great and the location is hard to beat. The food, and what they charge for it, is starting to sway my opinion however. My lukewarm steak frites was just a smidge above average. This place could be so much better but the food is just “meh”.
We loved the food and ambiance of the second level. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu as well. We will definitely be returning.
The foods were a little too salty. The waiter was very nice.
The decor is incredible! This is an actual grain mill, converted for the purpose of dining. Very cool, modern ambiance. Great drinks and delicious food. Definitely would go again!
The ambiance was nice and the restaurant is located near the water. The cocktail menu and happy hour specials were great, however the food was average. If you're looking for a better dining experience I wouldn't recommend this place.
Fantastic food and service, as is the case every time we’ve been here!
Great location in Old Town Alexandria to have a meal outside!
We love the location of the restaurant near the Old Town waterfront. There was a private wedding party upstairs with live music which, while fun, made it very hard to converse in the downstairs dining room. The menu variety is very nice. The Old Fashioned cocktail was delicious as was the steak salad. The French dip sandwich was tasty but lacking in meat but the kitchen did send out more meat when requested. The rest of the meal, a hamburger, chicken enchilada, was all right. Our waitress was extremely pleasant and accomodating.
Food was excellent. Crab dip appetizer, prime rib entrée. Just too noisy inside to have any sort of private or business conversation. Everyone had fun, but the acoustics are just really poor.
Our server was excellent! Love the new menu.
This was my 3rd time at this restaurant. The food was good but dining outside was not a great experience for us. We should have dined inside. I did not realize how much my dining experience would be affected by dogs. There were 2 smaller dogs under the table to our left, they were well behaved. The group was briefly joined by another person with a dog that was larger and more rambunctious. That dog got the other 2 excited so it got noisy for a brief period. Then there was a sudden wind gust and a few dog hairs landed on our table. This was no one's fault but it was unappetizing and I was happy that my food had not yet arrived. The person with the larger dog left, but a few minutes later someone walking 2 large dogs came within the dining area. Despite the fact we did not greet them, these dogs came over to us and put their snouts on our table; the dog's handler made little effort to restrain them. That was too much so we moved to the next table. The man with the big dogs left but returned with them about 15 minutes later again walking them through the dining area rather than on the other side of the fence. This time his dogs went up to the table on our right side those diners began to play with the dogs. At that point I told the handler that I was afraid of dogs and he left. The truth is our food had arrived and I did not want those big dogs all over my table while I was trying to eat. This is the first time that "pet friendly" detracted from my dining experience.
Everything was perfect. Collectively all of our food was great. The portions were very generous, everything was really flavorful. The server was great. We will be back.
Wonderful from start to finish!
Went of a Friday night. Long waits, crowded, noisy such that you have to raise your voice to be heard; had barbacoa tacos which were adequate but not anything to write home about,
The food was excellent. It was quite noisy having had to be seated at 5:45 instead of 7 as I wanted. Noisy children at the next table didn’t help. Difficult to have a conversation.
40th Birthday celebration
Had high expectations and heard good things about this place and was relegated to a tiny corner bar table with a party of 5 for pricey drinks (with a limited selection) and average food. To make things worse, the hostess gave away our table and had us wait an extra 30 minutes to “find us a table” after having a reservation and the server was very forgetful and inattentive.
I wanted to like this place but... it was very loud & noisy... my plate took forever due to a “mix up in the kitchen”. The soup.. barley sausage was really excellent ... the tacos were good... not a relaxing place.
Food was okay. Maybe the special would have been better, but our food was just average.
Wonderful food and the staff and service was fantastic. Great place to bring your dog and sit on the patio
Pleasant, comfortable outdoor seating with a view of the River; well-prepared food in large portions; especially good and attentive service from our waitress DeLayne.
Tasty food. Nice area, food was ok for me, the girls who came with me loved the food.
