Hit happy hour. Was delicious food. HH wine was meaahhh
Great evening :)
We had booked this restaurant for “Restaurant Week” as it was listed in the Alexandria Restaurant Week guide. When we got there we were presented with the standard menu and no mention of any Restaurant Week menu was made.
Nonetheless, it was a very pleasant experience with excellent service.
My only real complaint is how close the tables for two are. My husband I wanted to have a romantic evening out. It seemed as though we were basically sharing our meal with the couple's on either side of us. The food was phenomenal, I loved the atmosphere, just a little too tight as far as I'm concerned.
Service staff needs to be more attentive, slow service!
We celebrated the bday of our friend which we added on our open table reservation. Our server was not very attentive we had to keep calling him. I ordered the rib stew which was the special it had a wonderful tastes but I only received 4 pieces of rib tiny pieces a lot if potatoes and onions. For $25 I believe I should have received more ribs. I ordered side of mash potatoes completely bland. Our server never acknowledge the birthday and didn’t comp the dessert. Very disappointed with the service and customer ser vice
Thank you to Brenda for perfect service and for all the help with the special requests! The barbacoa tacos were so flavorful, as was the chicken Caesar salad.
Excellent food, fun drinks, great service. Only complaint is it’s loud
Everything we ate was delicious including the corn and crab chowder, the scotch eggs, fish tacos, beans and rice, and the duck meatloaf.
This was our last stop on the whirlwind NoVa tour on a Saturday. The food was good. American fare with some unique twists. Had a great habanero margarita and finished the night out with my favorite combination of chocolate and peanut butter in pie form.
We had a later reservation (8:30) so it was a bit loud when we got there. It was difficult to have a conversation. There was also a band playing upstairs which probably didn’t help the noise level.
It was a good place for a cocktail and dinner.
Always a great time, the drinks and food never fail to impress.
Have dined at Virtue a dozen (if not more) times. Antonio, our server, was amazing! Food and service was great.
Very disappointed with my experience, lunch with a friend. There was a wedding reception upstairs and given the open staircase we could hear the loud music from the DJ and could hardly hear my friend talking. Voice was sore as if I had been at a Concert after lunch. I highly suggest either not having a wedding/event with live music or shutting down the restaurant.
Excellent food and service. Highly recommended.
Food was excellent! Fresh and interesting! Great location on the Potomac. Great place for meeting friends!
We had a birthday dinner on Jan 2nd. Started at the bar with apps and cocktails and finished upstairs for dinner. Everything was wonderful! Thank you to Micaela (our hostess), Taylor (our waitress) and the manager (so sorry we didn’t get your name) for a fantastic experience!
Great service and attention to serious drinks.
My first visit! The food from starters to dessert was fabulous!!! Great service & the manager visited our table when we had a question. Generous pour for our cocktails. Can’t wait to return on a Wednesday for half-priced bottles of wine.
We had visited Virtue, for lunch, two weeks ago before Christmas and had a really good experience. Unfortunately, our second visit didn't go so well. We were seated upstairs on New Years Day. Our table was watered by our server and then we did not see her for the rest of the time we sat waiting to have our order taken. Roughly 20+ minutes. After waiting for over 20 minutes, we got up and left. We were there early, so the restaurant was not yet packed. I've worked in the industry, at Husk restaurant so I know how the industry works. What I found most disappointing is that even managers seemed to be on the floor walking around - but yet no one was aware that our table was sitting for more than 20 minutes. Again, it was not BUSY yet - no one at the bar - and still empty (available) tables. It was not a stellar visit. And no one even noticed that we got up and walked out.
Went there for New Year’s Eve the ambiance was perfect and we could see the fireworks! The food was very good. Good value for money
Always great to dine in Old Tiwn Alexandria. Great ambiance. Crab and Corn Chowder was light and filling. Mahi Fish tacos were excellent. Expected more Gluten Free options.
Great food, beautiful ambience, reasonable prices and stellar service. Looks like they have a great whiskey selection too!
A fabulous place to go for any occasion with family or friends.
Awesome meal, awesome staff, very cool environment. Loved the different options on the menu and the drinks were perfect. Highly recommend.
Loved this restaurant, food, ambiance and service was fantastic
Loved it! Happy hour is incredible there! Great prices for drinks and food.
We took our family for dinner and everyone enjoyed their meals and our time there. Unfortunately we were seated by the kitchen, so the noise level and hustle behind our seats was a bit more than we had expected, but that happens in most establishments when you are seated next to the kitchen. We will definitely be back, as have visited since they first opened. But we will request not to be seated so close to the kitchen!
The staff was spot on and made it a very special Christmas dinner for my family. Thank you.
A go to for our Christmas dinner! Friendly and efficient service and awesome food.
Wonderful food and service. The best restaurant in Old Town
Delicious crab cake sandwiches and accompanied salad. Perfect fried green tomatoes and tasty crab dip.
Came here with our family, including two yound children, before the Christmas Eve Santa and Grinch water show. Will definitely be back. Chip and dip platter was a hit and my fish tacos were very good along with the rice and beans. My wife didn't care for her quinoa salad, but the salmon topper was big enough to be its own meal. Our waitress and the view from the second floor windows were both great!
Definitely recommended for families.
Terrific service, courteous and attentive staff, and good food.
Delicious food. Super cozy atmosphere. Fairly priced. An absolutely fabulous experience overall!
We had a reservation for brunch, but we were rushed through our meal and given the check without asking for it. We were jammed in and it was so noisy that we struggled to have a conversation. I wouldn’t go back.
This was our first time at Virtue and we loved everything about it!! Our waiter (I regrettably can't remember his name) was incredible. He was so friendly and helpful, and really made our evening so special. We started with drinks. I got the smoky paloma (but asked for salt on the rim, it came with sugar) and my husband got the spicy margarita. Both were very good. We had the calamari and the tuna takitos as appetizers and they were both delicious! Easily the best calamari we've ever had. For dinner, I had the salmon with harissa and creamy quinoa, and my husband had the wild boar chops with broccolini. We loved both! Neither was super heavy, but still filling and delicious. For dessert, I got the pecan pie with hazelnut gelato, which was divine! My husband got the peanut butter pie, which he completely finished.
Overall an amazing experience and we will definitely go again!
The boar chops were flavorful, but a little tough-chewey.
We were bummed to find they only serve brunch on Sunday. Menu was diverse, food and service was good, but nothing to rave about.
The server was poor quality
Delicious meal with outstanding service and a great time is always what I experience at Virtue. My colleague and I had tuna taquitos, shrimp and beef tacos, rice and beans, fish tacos. Everything was delightful. You can count on their freshly prepared menu offerings, cozy and rustic ambiance with a waterfront view, and attentive service.
Virtue is consistent in their service, F&B, and delivery every time.
Really good meal and excellent atmosphere. Service very good but main course came too soon when starter not quite finished. Therefore food felt a bit rushed. Beer fantastic choice. As before will be back but need a little space between courses.
