We were participating in the Texas Bluebonnet Holiday Crystal Wine Trail and decided to end our day with a fantastic dinner at Messina Hof Vintage House Restaurant. We were seated at a nice-sized round corner table overlooking the vineyards. We started with a fresh Caesar Salad followed by the 10 oz French Bone-in Pork Chop and the Gorganzola Chicken for our entreés. We paired our dinner with Messina Hof Winery's Reflections of Love. To end, we shared a slice of New York Cheese Cake. All absolutely delicious. Service was excellent.

We're looking forward to our next visit.

Went for a Thanksgiving Dinner. Went outside the box and had a Ribeye steak for our meal. It was fabulous. The atmosphere was quiet and reserved the view of the vineyards was beautiful. I would love to return to try their regular menu. Our server was very attentive.

We are disappoited with our experience. The food was expensive yet mediocre. It did not seem that much attention was paid to our meal. For example, my veal was cool and overcooked. Our server cared little about our table, failing to tell us about the winery's history and pedigree. She joked that they were so bored that the cooks were playing games in the back. One could tell that the entire staff was going through the motions. Though we once enjoyed brunch at Messina Hof some years ago, this time around did not replicate that pleasant experience.

Awesome evening with friends. Easy to have conversations with our friends (not too loud or too quite). Excellent service and the food was on point (we all had their special of day). Don’t skip the cheesecake of the day if available.

The manager Erin was very helpful, in getting us sat and properly taken care of. Also, very pleased with Omar's service and addressing my very picky dinner companions. Chef Will even made an appearance at our table to say hello!

We did Comfort Special again this week. The Lasagna was perfectly seasoned and great cheeses. Paired very well with the Gewurtztriminer (sp). Madison made the meal even more enjoyable with her excellent, attentive service and friendly conversation.

From the moment we walked in, very attentive staff. Brook had our table and explained each of the specials to us ... including soup of day, fish of day and Thursday Comfort Food special. We shared a cup of beef barley (it sounded too good, not to sample ... GLAD we did, excellent combination of flavors). We each had the comfort food, Baby Back Ribs and twice baked potato- excellent, tender and flavorful ribs. Ribs went perfectly with Petite Verdot. Dessert was also special offering of the week - almond cherry pie, perfect with the Glory (a fortified Muscat). Throughout the evening, Brook was super attentive and helpful! We’ll be back soon, especially for their Thursday Comfort Food offering (changes weekly)

I've only been once before this most recent time and the food was AMAZING that day but this time not so much. I'm not sure if the chicken was overdone or What but it was a bit chewy. Omar our server was great though and the place was super quiet.

The food was excellent and it is a beautiful restaurant. The service was very slow. It took the waitress forever to greet us and there was no one else in the restaurant. Also, the choice of music was great but it kept cutting off and then on. Very annoying. With no one in the restaurant I would think we would have had first class attention and they would have fixed the music problem. We get a better experience at other fine dining restaurants in town. We will not be going back to this restaurant.

We had dinner at Messina Hof in March, it was not a pleasant evening. We returned in October hoping for the restaurant to redeem itself. It did, service was wonderful, the waiter was very personable and attentive, the food was very good, and the wine, excellent.

Brook took expert care of us for my wife's birthday (with assists from Jacob and Tammy). Her presentation of the Legend Salad (including the story behind it) was excellent. Chef Chris and Alex did a perfect job with the pecan-crusted sea bass, which paired perfectly with our wine. For dessert, the "big fire" presentation of the Cherries Jubilee flambé tableside was a great finish to the evening.

After leaving this review we were contacted by the restaurant, offered an apology and their sincere desire to try again. We accepted their apology and a gift card for use the next time we try the restaurant. Very unexpected and appreciated. Will leave another review after our return visit.

First review
We decided on supper here last minute while moving our daughter into her apartment. The atmosphere was great, the food was wonderful, the service was non-existent. Let me start by saying the restaurant was not that full, so what follows was not a function of an over worked staff. Don't know if our waitress was new or what the problem was. She was friendly, we ordered 2 cheese plates that never arrived, ordered 4 different wines, that were never refilled, And the other 4 people at the table did not even get drink orders taken. Saw her when we first arrived, and not again until our food arrived. We were a party of 8 so we got to pay the 20% tip anyway, very unlikely we will revisit, which is disappointing because the food was very good.

This place has an interesting feel to it. It was nice but missing something I can't put my finger on. Either way, my mom LOVED the club sandwich and can't wait to go back for another.
Prices were reasonable and that bread and oil dip - MMMMM!
