The meatballs were under cooked. The atmosphere was awesome and we had a great time on our cellar tour and after. Skylar did a great job.

I realize that this was a very busy weekend for the restaurant; however, we made reservations far in advance to celebrate my son's graduation. If they were not able to accommodate the number of people in the restaurant, they shouldn't have accepted that number of reservations. Vintage House completely ruined our experience. Although we were seated in a timely manner, we waited 1.5 hours for our food. Most of the food was mediocre at best. For example, the shrimp pasta contained exactly 3 medium size shrimp and the pasta lacked any flavor except a high dose of salt. My food was not even mediocre....it was not edible. The dish described was not the dish that was served. (They DID offer to bring me an appetizer in place of my meal. Really??? An appetizer as a meal replacement???) They did not refill a single drink in the 2 hours that we were there; except when we hunted down any staff member for a refill. (We eventually requested a carafe of water so that we could refill our own.) No refills on tea. No check to see if anyone would like to order a glass of wine (it is a winery after all!) Our waiter was not anywhere to be found. I expect far better service from a restaurant of this caliber.

We went there to celebrate our son’s graduation from TAMU. The appetizers (calamari and cheese plate) were very good and the wine flights (white and private selection) were also good. The Blanc duBois and the Paulo Cabernet Sauvignon were very good. The main courses and service both left something to be desired.
My husband and I both ordered the petit filet mignon to be cooked to medium. Were medium to medium rare folks, but are not comfortable with super rare(reminded me of ahi tuna) which is how it first arrived. Our waitress returned our plates and we were served filets more in line to what we were expecting. To a point. My husband’s filet still had sections that were extremely rare. To me this Indicated an uneven cook, and he did not finish it as it was not to his liking. For a $32 entree, I would expect that it would be cooked to liking.
One of our guests ordered the shrimp scampi which left a pool of olive oil in his bowl and required that he remove the tails from his shrimp. Another guest ordered pasta with merlot marinara, but was offered neither fresh grated parmesan or pepper. We had neither salt or pepper on our table. Our last guest ordered the ribeye ($36) which was cooked adequately, but arrived with cold sides.
Our server seemed somewhat disinterested. My husband posed a question to her about meal choices and it was clear that she had not been paying attention as she had to ask him to repeat the question. One guest in our party was drinking only water and we had to request to have his glass filled.
The brights spots were the wine and the appetizers, but given that we had gone for a special occasion and had read such good reviews, to come away feeling disappointed was unwelcome. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t atrocious, but if we wanted mediocre we could have gone to Chili’s for a lot less money.

A party of four, we enjoyed orders of petite filets and salmon. Two of us started with the Caesar salad; the dinner salads were generous and could easily have been shared. The flambéed cherries in port fudge sauce over vanilla ice cream was excellent. Our server did a beautiful job of preparing this dessert for two of us. Truly delicious and fun! Our table by the window allowed for a view of the vineyards and was good for conversation.

Love the service and the atmosphere. The pricing of the food is reasonable but wish it tasted a little better (tastes a little bland). The wine is to die for... very good!!! All in all it is a place that you have to check out.

Does not disappoint. It was a celebration and we started off with a bottle of almond sparkling and it started the meal off right (everyone loved it). Food and service was great. Had the calamari and it was cooked to perfection.

Looking forward to our next visit.

Savannah took expert care of us! She immediately shared all of the off menu specials with us and knew the details of each. Our entire group of 8 ordered the Lasagna from those specials. The lasagna was incredible, especially the sauce and the touch of fresh basil on top. It was a great evening with friends and we appreciate Savannah and the rest of the staff taking such good care of us!

We came here for my wife’s birthday with two of our friends. Our Server was terrible. Absolutely terrible. She kept saying there wasn’t any bread, but never brought any, despite oil and herb sitting being on the table. We finally asked another server, who was confused why we didn’t have any, and she brought some right away. We only saw our server maybe 3 times our entire dinner. The calamari was good. My Wife’s salad came out wrong and mine didn’t come out at all. My Wife also ordered the filet, medium. It came out medium rare. She was able to eat about half of it until she saw all the blood. Overall, didn’t feel like the occasion was celebrated how it should’ve been. Having been a server for 6 years in both casual and fine dining, I know how to take care of a guest and make them want to return. Maybe my expectations were too high.

It was a group of 10 of us celebrating my sister’s birthday. We had a wonderful time. The tour was awesome. The wine tasting afterwards was even better. A couple of the wines we wanted to taste was out of stock which was a bummer. Nonetheless, we had a good time with staff as well as the other patrons. We ate dinner at the Vintage House Restaurant and the food was really good. The ribeye, salmon and pork chop was delish. The cherries jubilee was the perfect ending to a perfect day! We are now trying to plan a ladies trip back. We bought several boxes of wine as well as wine stoppers. Kelly and Brooks was very helpful and quite pleasant. Thanks for making our trip a very memorable one.

It was just an ok restaurant. We love trying new fine dining experiences and this is definitely not at the top of our list. I will say this has been our cheapest dinner so it is good for the value, but the food is just mediocre. However, the complimentary bread and oil dip was super tasty and was probably our most favorite thing we ate besides the strawberry flambé for desert. Or server did a great job with the tableside flambé and it was very delicious. We probably won't be back, but it is a nice place to try at least once. It gets the highest rating for the ambience, the outdoor lighting at night and the rustic interior. I bet the outside looks prettier when the grapes are in season. It definitely has a quiet and romantic ambience. The server was very friendly.

We had mimosas, wine and the typical 4 course meal (a margherita pizza for an appetizer, a starter cesear salad and a strawberry salad, the Texas Dinner and the lamb dinner, followed by the strawberry flambe and coffee all for under $150.) While the meats were cooked to perfection, pretty much everything with the exception of the flambé was lacking flavor. Additionally, each serving came out so fast. Before we were even done with the appetizer, the salads were already brought out, then before we were even done with the salads the entrees were already brought out, so we had plates filling the table. Normally we spend between 2-3 hours from appetizer to dessert and coffee for a fine dining experience. This time all food was out within an hour, so this was definitely our fastest food experience.

Overall, its worth a try and you can't beat the price.

Great place for having either, a romantic dinner or going out with a group of friends and enjoy magnificent wines. Staff is quite friendly and always helping, the ambiance provides a naturally warming feeling, the noise level (inside) is perfect for having a normal conversation, and the price/value is also outstanding; I had a three-course dinner for two, plus two bottles of wine (we took one home) for less than 130 dollars. I definitively recommend the House Restaurant at Messina Hof .

Great place for a nicer date night. Setting was great and did not feel like we were on top of another couple. The food was excellent and lots of different options for the diner that needs a variety in their life. I would say the only thing that would need slight improvement would be the speed at which things are brought to the table. While our waitress was great and friendly, I felt as though it took a while to get water which was requested, as well as, when we ordered a bottle of wine that was another couple minutes before it was brought to the table. All together though it was a great experience and I would definitely come back again for another special occasion.

I was pretty let down on my birthday here. I’ve been here one other time and it was magical, so it was the clear choice to celebratw my birthday with my friends, despite it being typically out of a college student budget. The last time I was here it was for a ring day celebration and we were treated so kindly. Our server took the time to celebrate with us and get to know us, and was very hands on with recommendations and suggestions. On my birthday however the service we received was great, but nothing special. Despite it being my birthday there was no celebratory flair, which is totally okay, but I just had high expectations from the last time I was there. The worst part was at the end the server came out with my card and part of the bill saying that they ran it multiple times incorrectly and the last time it got declined. Essentially they charged my card $68 dollars twice and when they went to charge it the correct amount the third time it got declined. Then they said since it was their fault and they ran it a bunch they needed another card. I gave them another card, but later realized that in my server job and in other retail that running a card that many times is often against policy or against card standards, i.e. they shouldn’t have done that in the first place without asking me. So not only did they take out more than they should have, but I was very uncomfortable and embarrassed even though it wasn’t my fault. I also expected more of an apology or maybe a discount because they drained my account without asking permission, but I got nothing. It really brought down my mood for the rest of the night and made me feel just bad about the whole evening. So long story short: I was really looking forward to this splurge celebration of my birthday and was overall let down by the comparison to my previous visit and especially by the unprofessional way in which running my card was handled after they made multiple mistakes in running it.
