Wine bar with high volume sound. Food was interesting and mostly it worked. Wine choices Euro centric, some depth of interest, seemed to work with the crowd.
We arrived for our reservation and needed to wait at the bar for a table to empty. Later, instead of being seated at a dinner table, they sat us in the window seat that was rather drafty and difficult to eat due to the low tables. When a table did come open, later arriving guests were seated without it being offered to us.
Perfect spot for delish wine and cheese
Always a great time! Thank you
The manager was very accommodating when I called to see if we could reserve a spot for 14 people on a Saturday night. The wine selection was great and affordable in my opinion, and the cheese we ordered was fantastic. My only complaint was the service- we asked for suggestions on the cocktail list based on which liquor we preferred and our waiter didn't seem interested in helping. He was not very friendly to our group, therefore our overall experience was a 4 star, instead of 5. Hoping for a better experience next time.
Love this spot! Perfect for before dinner cheese plate and cocktails! Service was outstanding!!
When ordering your drinks, if you don't specify "house" liquor then they will give you top-shelf without notice, until you receive the bill.
Very good ambiance. Located on King street which is getting busier these days but we went on a week night and had the place to ourselves. The cheese fondue platter was generous. The menu was clearly explained to us along with a few suggestions after finding out our tastes. Prices are very reasonable for a date night and the quality of the food was very good. So was the wine and cocktail. We both agreed we will definitely return
Cool place, but prices were high. Service was ok. We were there on New years Eve so it might be different on a regular night.
Beautiful ambiance and great food and wine!
Great fun. Loved the band
It was ok,nothing special
Great service and had a blast! We came as a Bach party and were sat in the front window, which we loved. So cute inside and the servers were awesome and attentive!
Was a great place but parking is an issue in that part of town
Food was superb— recommend the lobster croquettes! Great ambiance and our server was outstanding.
Looking for wine and small plates with a side of friends in a cozy atmosphere—-Vintage is your place!
Nice folks and very attentive staff. Beware of bottle price of wines not on the list, was told reasonable pricing and got the bill of $160 for a very nice champagne...shame on me for not having a reference $ amount for “reasonable “. I will ask price next time. I would go back.
Meat and cheese with wine and fondue was my wife’s perfect menu for our anniversary and the atmosphere was awesome. Highly recommend this place
Sunday nights are a bust to get a true vibe of the place. We were the only people there at 7pm. Nevertheless, we stuck it out and are glad we did. The wine selections were great and based on what I told the waitress I liked, she found an even better option than what I had picked. She also encouraged us to try the various cheese selections and that was also a great idea. We ended with the chocolate fondue on a whim. Wow—it was just your basic fondue but the dippers were plentiful. Overall a fun experience and the private dining ended up being fun.
Fun place to meet friends and try out wines. Service is excellent! Try the mystery wine challenge.
GREAT PLACE! GREAT FOOD! GREAT WINE! GREAT SERVICE! ....I feel like I didn’t say great enough...
Not the best place I have ever been but not the worst. The issue I have is that Vintage Lounge stands on the fact that they are a wine bar and all that know wine knows red wine is not served room temperature. Especially in the hot South. Charleston has too many other great restaurants to put VL on my must go back list.
Very unassuming restaurant/bar with a varied wine listing as well as small plates and cheeses to chose from. It was a little loud when we first arrived due to a bridal party that occupied the front of the restaurant. The service was not overbearing however they were there when the wine needed to be refilled and were kind to ask if our wine temperature remained suitable for us while we ate. The seating is different multiple small table and then front window seating, however my husband thought the chair was one of the most comfortable ones he has sat in. The waiter took time to explain the menu as well as offer us a tasting of the wine prior to purchasing. It was a lovely evening and we enjoyed the evening and would be happy to return.
My husband and I enjoy going downtown Charleston and trying new restaurants. This was our first visit to Vintage and it was great. The service and food were really good. They have an outside patio in the back, however it was a bit too hot, but we'll be back to sit out there when the weather cools. Overall we enjoyed our visit to Vintage and we will be back.
This was a very nice new spot right in the middle of a lot of my favorite bars. The environment was warm and fun. Service was very attentive. The menu was great for a night out with a group of girl friends. Outside was really hot - I'll have to wait until it gets cooler to try that space.
There is a great wine list and it features some really intersting finds. Unfortunately, the red wine is served way too hot so the experience is lost.
The food is ok, but a little overpriced. Seating is close together so it can get noisy.
Service was good and server was knowledgeable about the wine list.
Great spot for dinner and wine. It was quiet on the back patio when we arrived and while we at the amazing fondue. After dinner we went inside, sat at the bar and enjoyed the live music and more wine. The whole staff was incredibly friendly!!
Back porch at night is fantastic. We wAtched the rain roll in and enjoyed delicious champagne and fondue. One of much favorite date nights in Charleston.
Very nice place, great food, wine by the glass list is a little too short for a wine bar. Didn’t have the bottle I asked
We got seated early in the front and were greeted warmly by Danielle and she made great recommendations for wine and food. We got the charcuterie plate and fondue. Both dishes were excellent. Danielle took great care of us, as did her coworkers to make sure our waters stayed full. We will definitely be back!
Great customer service and great food.
Great ambiance, delicious food, my fiancé and I loved everything about VL.
The general feel was fun and energetic. Got pretty loud obviously toward later in the evening making conversations more difficult to have. Drinks and food good. Overpriced cheese board
We are from New Orleans and know food — this place is EXCEPTIONAL!! The wine list is extensive and includes some of our favorite Chardonnays. The food was very fresh and delicious. The architecture has some of the original features of the building (cool arched ceiling) and decor was fabulous - tasteful touches of gold everywhere. Of all the places we ate on our visit, this was definitely our favorite!
Great wine selections in a variety of price ranges and delicious food pairings. The chocolate fondue does not disappoint!
First, we experienced great service during our visit. The wine selection was interesting and enjoyable. The charcuterie was excellent. It was difficult to narrow down our selections, so we went with recommendations from the staff - very nice waitstaff, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
Terrific spot for a post theater/concert drink and dessert.
New on the scene. We had a tray of meat/cheese which was most tasty. A little out of the way from the downtown area. This would be a nice place to pop in for a quick bite if you are shopping or going to the theater.
Our table wasn't ready for our reservation but the owner was very nice and accommodating. We had a wonderful time and the music was great!
Great environment and excellent food. Service was a bit slow but was very polite and courteous.
Rude staff. Too loud. Waitress inept. Fondue cold.
