I have been twice and have been very impressed both times. The food is not overly complicated, but there are nuances that separate and elevate the dishes over similarly cooked things at other restaurants. Service was very attentive and prices reasonable.
Honestly - the should be trained NEVER to clear a plate until everyone at the table is finished, unless a patron asks. This is standard practice at good restaurants. It is so rude to start clearing the table when someone is still eating. It ruins the conversation flow and put the people still eating under pressure. Train the staff to do things the proper way.
Service, food, and wine were exceptional as usual. Dining room was so loud we could barely hear each other. Yes there was a loud table of young women but they were far from us and even when they were quiet, the room was too noisy. I wish they would open the upstairs during the week since it’d mitigate the noise level. I see they put acoustic tile on the ceiling but it doesn’t help. This is the third time I’ve been with friends and we’ve had to scream at each other to hear one another. I won’t be back during the week. It’s just not a good experience even though the food is to die for. The chairs are very uncomfortable as well. Maybe sit at the bar where it’s less noisy but that’s not the same... oh well. Same issue with Dolce Vita down the street so I guess Marco doesn’t care, know, or know what to do, I dunno. Peccato...
Always reliable. Always good. Fish cooked perfectly. The charcuterie was fantastic, obviously deli quality, not something you get from a grocery store. They make their own bresaola. We love Poscol's.
Great food with a lot of flavor; intimate setting for a romantic date night
Thought that food was a little overpriced. Wasn't happy with the young waitperson. He seemed to have a problem when I asked him to clean the table between the salad and the entree.
Love this place. Neighborhood essential. Highly recommend! Foods great and the ambiance is very cozy. Always a great eclectic crowd.
We have always enjoyed meals at Poscol, the food is akways amazing and service great. Such a treat- we took my mom in kaw for her bday, she loved everything !
This is my favorite trattoria in Houston and for anyone we invite it immediately becomes theirs. Poscol is also a salumeria with a delicious variety of dry meats and cheeses, just writing about it makes me crave for it. Poscol is my little piece of Italy in Houston.
Favorite in the neighborhood
We always love our meals here and last night was no exception!
Wonderful neighborhood restaurant. Wonderful service and food!!
Always good,always friendly
Outstanding food reasonable prices get service
Poscol never disappoints! I have eaten here numerous times over the past 10 years, and the food and service are consistently excellent. One of my very favorite restaurants in Houston.
An absolutely incredible experience!
The menu options were perfect; plenty to choose from but not overwhelming.
The noise level was a bit intense but it did not take away from the great time my wife and I had. We will definitely return.
There are soooo many tasty treats on the menu. And it's very affordable for the quality. Love the comfy atmosphere. Service is super! It's our favorite restaurant in Houston.
My wife and I visited Vinoteca Poscol for our anniversary.
small and quiet, it was just what we were looking for for this occasion.
every food item we ordered was beautiful and delicious.
service was attentive, friendly, and excellent.
prices were very, very reasonable ... i would say quite the bargain for the quality.
we definitely enjoyed our visit and will happily return.
Every plate we ordered was delicious. The pheasant pasta was absolutely spectacular. We will be back.
What a perfectly cozy place for a great get together with friends. Amazing food, great service, and a very elevated menu with a truly down-to-earth vibe.
Amazing! Consistently delicious! We've been numerous times with each time exceeding our expectations!
Really enjoyed the meat and cheese plate, great wine. Food was just ok. Prosciutto shrimp were over cooked, artichokes were bland. Will order different next time.
Great romantic and easy dining experience w gluten free options that are hard to come by w Italian.
This was a special find and one I will visit often when in Houston! I had the pheasant with pasta and it was unbelievable!
AS always delicious but a bit disappointing because they didn't have the tagliatelle which is why I come to Poscol for
My first time in their new location. The bread to start off with is still the same, and the best in the business. Lucky for me, the rest of their menu too continues to be well above par. On wine their markup should be a little less (IMOH), but the choices are OK. Although I am always hoping they go for smaller and organic/natural producers rather than the factory wines, when they choose their dolcettos, barberas, and barolos.
Such a hidden gem. The food was fantastic
The staff was incredible
It’s a must go to
Amazing service, great wine list. Lots of small plates to be able to share! We had some nice meat selections and then did some of the small plates, calamari, pheasant with pasta (AMAZING), and polenta with mortadella. It was all super yummy. And the service was some of the best I have had in Houston. Very attentive, polite and offered suggestions that were delicious and not the most expensive things on the menu. Oh, and it was NYE! It was great!
Great food! Wonderful service! Awesome place overall!!
Food was outstanding. Service was excellent. Convenient location in the heart of Montrose. Ambiance was very comfortable and nice.
Family meal with my parents and in-laws
They placed us at the door which I thought was a little inconvenient but other than that, the service was amazing and very attentive. I wasn’t that impressed with the food especially their flatbread but their cocktails were really good.
Definitely, we will be back. We just happened upon Vinoteca. Driving in the area, we opened up Open table to find something nearby and gave it a try. So happy we did. Reminded us of our trip to Tuscany. All the food was fresh and well presented. The only thing we weren’t sure of was how much to order. Know that the bruschetta is larger than you get at most restaurants. They use a full slice of Italian bread and load it up. Marvelous. We had the bruschetta w avocado and the one w peppers. I also had the roasted carrots salad. Yummy. The beets vegetable plate was super w the hazelnuts. We all shared our dishes. That’s the kind of place this is. If you don’t like to share this might not be your kind of place. We don’t eat off each other’s plates but when it’s good food we share bites. I loved how the waitstaff seemed to share duties at all the tables. We had a primary waiter but it never matter who you talked to, it was a team effort to make sure we had everything we needed. Their work looked effortless.
So many good reviews, but not our experience. Food was just OK. Very few protein options and a somewhat limited menu. Service and ambiance were OK, but we won’t be returning. There’s better food and value nearby.
Have been going to this place for years; love the food and the service. From small bites to huge meals, it was always a good choice.
Very tight seating area, limited meat selections other than charcuterie. Service was polite but slow. Bacon-wrapped shrimp appetizer was fantastic, as was the pappardelle ragù.
Every time we go it’s very good and service is always very good
Great food & ambiance -
Poscol never disappoints. The food is delicious. The service is wonderful. We always order off the specials chalkboard.
It was great! Everything we had was delicious. Bolognese
Salad and flatbread. Spot on. Our waiter was very accommodating and it was a great place to go for a quick bite late on a Sunday night. And reasonable too! We will be back--
