Everything was perfect. After we asked to be seated at another table, after being seated right by the curtain/entrance , all was perfect. Waiter Patrick was great!
Excellent food with interesting presentations. First rate service my our server, Mary Jo.
Delicious fig flatbread and beat salad for starters. Wonderful wine and craft cocktails, followed by our mains. Entrees a bit pricey for their size, but very flavorful. We were disappointed with our chocolate babka, not enough chocolate for my taste. Would go back again, maybe for happy hour and appetizers.
I asked for no anchovies on my Cesar salad and he gave me one with. I thought the gnocchi could’ve been more invigorating... it was underwhelming.
The food was really good. The menu is small, but the options that they have are very well represented. The wine menu is very rich.
Our server was EXCELLENT. We all agreed he was the one who made the night even more special. Kudos. Keep him please! We will ask for him again!
Our meal was disappointing compared to our last outing. The octopus appetizer was ok but nothing remarkable. The scallops were accompanied by heavy sides which didn't go well with them. The most disappointing was the duck breast. Advertised as "medium rare"it arrived well done and very tough. The wine was excellent, a Malbec Bodega named Flohr. The wine list is impressive indeed. We noticed that this is another restaurant which is starting to emphasize "Small Plates" and may be neglecting the "Main Plates."
Good wine list by the glass. Dinner was ok, nothing to rave about. My husband had the octopus which he said was nothing special. I had the trout which seemed a bit oily and wasn't cooked all the way through. I should have stated that I prefer it cooked through when ordered. We had a pizza appetizer that was a good size, but you hardly tasted the gorgonzola cheese. The atmosphere was casual and conversation friendly. I would come back for a glass of wine and appetizer.
Brie appetizer was excellent. Dinner entrees were interesting, ample proportions, and solid. Not brilliant, but solid. Waitstaff were attentive and prompt . Desserts were disappointing and grossly overpriced at $11 - made me feel like there were trying to squeeze and extra $30-40 out of us before we were through.
Really nice place to have a romantic dinner with your date, wonderful service!
Great & id go back
Unique in every way....traditional bar...unique mixed drinks....good wine list by the glass...unique appetizer/small plate/tapas choices as well as full meals..."unique" desserts....Active and lively atmosphere...the table choices for our 715 reservations were both close to the front door and "chilly"...a hostess took it upon herself to find us a table further away from the front door....exceptional service when unexpected is a true delight! THANK YOU!...servers were attentive , while still be quite busy!
The staff were very attentive as well as knowledgeable. This was a great restaurant for a first date due to its easy atmosphere and great food and wine options. The only con was that it was a bit noisy and difficult to hear at some times. Overall we had a great dining experience and plan to return!
Amazing vegan dessert.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here and really enjoyed the food and wine. Our wait staff was attentive, but not hovering and timed the dishes perfectly. The sommelier even recommended a bottle of wine that cost less than my initial selection. Very enjoyable!
Sunday evening was quiet. Service was great...respected our conversation but arrived when appropriate.
A really outstanding meal and fantastic service. The meal was excellent. Additionally, I bought a relatively pricey bottle of wine that tasted a bit off - the Manager replaced it with a comparable bottle that was excellent at no additional charge. Would definitely recommend
I eat here once or twice a year and always leave saying "That was good. We should eat here more often!" Maybe it is the parking in downtown.
Interesting choices of food, wine and beer. Great service. Fairly priced.
Celebrated a friend’s birthday. Fantastic. Could not have been better
Vinology always offers an interesting set of menu options, with smaller portions for those who don't need an American restaurant behemoth. And of course the wines by the glass are an excellent selection. This time the house cocktails were also both outstanding.
Absolutely stunning restaurant with a great wine selection and wonderful atmosphere!!
From the moment we arrived we were welcomed and treated great. Our server Patrick was knowledgeable and friendly. He was attentive without being around too much. Our food was delicious. We started with the charcuterie board and a bottle of Syrah. My husband ordered the ribeye and I had the duck. Both were cooked perfectly. After we had the pannacotta tres leches and a chocolate brioche. Both were also delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Can't wait to go back.
Amazing food and wine! Our server was very knowledgeable and efficient. Beautiful restaurant too.
Just fabulous! We will be back. Food was exceptional, great atmosphere!
We have dined at Vinology several times, and we’re not disappointed this time either! The wine suggestions were spot on, and food was excellent. We love the option to order a half portion, it gives us the option to sample more dishes!! This time everything we ordered was delicious, from the flatbread with artichoke, to the curried cauliflower, and all the mains! We will be back!
we had a great time, however the wait person didn't attend to our timing and we missed sharing in my husband's birthday dessert because we had to leave for a show at the Ark. The meal was wonderful!
Great food, great service. Nice place to have some wine and small plates. Fairly limited menu that seemed a little over priced.
We have been to Vinology many times. Their menu changes with the seasons and that is a nice change. We had Jud as our server and he was great. He was attentive when he needed to be and left us alone when that was needed. He also didn't pressure us on ordering and helped with the wine selection. The vegan tamales were really good and so was the trout. Neither of us is vegan, but the tamales sounded interesting so we tried them and were not disappointed. Had the gorgonzola and fig flatbread and a salad to start with a nice bottle of spanish granache. A great evening.
Our food was fantastic, everything at brunch from a burger and the reuben to gnocchi and eggs and croissant french toast.
The service was fantastic. Everyone was kind as we waited for the last 2 in our party of 7. We split a reuben as an appetizer for the 5, it was fantastic.
(Almost) Bottomless mimosas are a plus.
We got to sit on the lower level in the wine room and the ambiance was unparalleled! The service was excellent! I had the ribeye strip. It extremely flavorful, presented perfectly, and the accompaniments were magnificent! For dessert I had the fig tart and absolutely LOVED it. OMG it was delicious. I HIGHLY recommend Vinology.
Being sat by the front door was miserable. It was cold and hampered our dinner experience. The small space heater was an effort but my wife was frozen. We won’t come back in the winter
Very disappointed with food and service. Service was slow and lacked attentiveness. Food was fair at best. The best part was the wine, but that can be bought anywhere.
The food and the cocktails are always great. Never had a bad experience at our favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor!
Caesar salad phenomenal, duck breast with spaetzel yummy, choices of wine flights excellent
Went for Valentines day and everything was delicious.
We started with the Charcuterie cutting board and Marinated Olives.
For mains we had Duck Breast and the Parisian Gnocchi.
Everything we would most definitely have again!
Husbands birthday, great service, food was awesome!!
Different and excellent takes on caesar salad, roast hen and sliders!
This was my first time at Vinology. The menu was inviting and creative and we thought to give it a try for a birthday lunch.
Positives: friendly waiter, creative and tasty food (for the most part), quiet (easy to have a conversation)
Negatives: Pricey for what you get. A group of 6, no alcohol, lunch menu - came to over $100 + tip. The coffee was $3.50/person and we had to keep asking for our cups to be refilled. We waited quite a while for our food, and asked if there was a basket of bread or something to nibble on as we waited, but nothing was available. One negative on my meal - I ordered eggs over medium. They were completely runny. I had waited so long for the food, I didn't want to send the eggs back and hold up our entire groups' meal, so I just kept the dish. The eggs came with 2 small pieces of dry toast - I was unable to use the toast to soak up the yolk of the egg. For $12 I certainly expected more. The dish was called "Eggs your way" - I think not!
I ordered a small portion of trout. Each entree came with an option of small and regular. The trout and its accompaniments were delicious. Portion size was small but sufficient, and the price was reasonable.
