Best Italian food in Boston/Somerville. Had salads, chicken sausage special and seafood spectacular. All were done just right and outstanding. Great wait staff. Our favorite
We have been coming here for 5 years and the last few times have been awful. Waited 1 hour for the food that came out wrong and several of the tables were so loud we could not talk over the yelling.
I’m not going back given this was three bad experiences in a row. Before this it was great.
Great as usual!
It wasn't Vinny's best day for timely food delivery that night. We, unfortunately, waited for about an hour for our entrees. They did comp our desserts and were sincerely apologetic.
This is really unlike them - we have been there many times and love the place. Just a tough night.
As usual, the food at Vinny's was fabulous! We've been here many times and it never disappoints. The only thing that disappointed on this visit was our server. We brought another couple with us who had never been here before. They were looking forward to trying the Arancini appetizer which gets rave reviews and we know how good they are as we've ordered them in the past. The appetizers were never delivered, the server never checked on how our meals were or if we wanted more drinks. We even had to ask for more water,. We did mention the poor service to the Maitre D and she removed the desserts from our bill, but it was still a disappointment. But the food was not a disappointment!!
The waitstaff are the best! I’ve been coming to Vinnys for years! Never had a bad meal!
Vinny's is always great. The Italian food has a pungent Sicilian slant. The service is great. The atmosphere friendly. A great destination even if you don't live in East Somerville.
Waiter greeted us like long lost family. Bread and Olive Oil were fantastic. Entries served hot and on time . Can’t say enough good things. Keep doing what you’re doing. Get rid of the clown by the bathroom. :)
Alway delicious. Great atmosphere. Menu has lots of variety. Have not found anything we haven’t liked.
Charming place to eat and GREAT food! We love going to Vinny's!
Coming for years; never disappointed! Better than any restaurant in the North End!
The food was really good, but the service was subpar. It's a small place so make reservations.
our waiter was a bit manic. he took plates away too quickly and came back way too often to see if we were finished. we felt pretty hustled, like the waiter couldn't wait to go home.
The food was great but I have no idea what good a reservation does got you. We still waited 45 minutes for a table after our reservation time and while we were waiting they were quoting walk ins 60 minutes but you could make a (useless) reservation for 15 minutes from that time on opentable. So be prepared to wait either way.
I had my birthday dinner at Vinny's with two good friends. My best friend said it was the best homemade pasta and sauce she had ever had and there was not a drop left on her plate! Vinny's is a real treat and love the waitstaff and lively atmosphere!
Food was great as usual! Always consistent never any change in quality of food and service. This is the closest you can get to the great food of southern Italian food in the area.
Food is awesome as always. ive eaten here many times. found it on open table 2 years ago this was the longest time i ever had to wait for the meal. ablut an hour before we were served. other than this, the place is fantastic
Service is always great. The servers (one of them is named Johnny?) are always energetic and bubbly. They even remember us from before. Food is consistent every time I go. Good food, good value as the portions are pretty big, and local restaurant atmosphere that makes it good for a date night or a night out with friends and family. High recommend!
Wonderful in every way...we’ll definitely be back!
Try finding a parking space cause it’s difficult .....You can only park at a street meter slot cause all else means you need to be a Somerville resident or special pass....frustrating
But the food (tasty and good selection), service (very friendly and prompt), and price (fair) was very good....You need to get use to the fact that seating your all on top of each other (but I find this to be true of city located authentic Italian restaurants)......
I will go back and enjoyed the overall experience
There was no host to greet us but a sign that read ‘Please wait to be seated’. We waited for quite a while and all the staff saw us standing there but never acknowledged us. Finally the bar tender & another server walked towards us as the bar tender was complaining it wasn’t her job to be the host. When our server came to greet us there was no hello or name given, just ‘do you know what you want?’ We felt a bit rushed to order and food was good but not as good as I had hoped after seeing Vinny’s on the Food Network & other people recommending it. I think I had higher expectations. I will say, it was very reasonably priced. Don’t know if I would go back.
Best Italian food! Very cozy, friendly local place -- great ambiance. I went to the North End the night before, and the food is better here! Homemade pasta, generous portions, attentive staff.
Great food by indifferent and rude service. Too bad for the owner.
Food was outstanding as usual. Kitchen was a little slow ( very busy ) but worth the wait. Service was very good. Will return...hard to beat Vinny's
Always amazing food as always!!!
Eggplant parm special is my favorite!!
Great food and service.
Never a bad meal
Excellent food and friendly staff. However the dinning area is very small and our chairs were constantly being bumped each time someone walked by.
Great food and service. It is my neighborhood go-to place that never disappoints!
First time there and we had a nice dinner. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. We will be back. Nice little gem. The service was great. No complaints!! See you next time. :)
We have been to Vinny's quite a few times. The food as well as the service is excellent.
Food was excellent and service was excellent also. My only complaint is there is no parking available had to circle around several times before finding meter parking, keep an eye on meter time my meter was feed until 7:40 I got to my car at 7:48 and find a $30 ticket on it. Overall well worth it if you don’t need to drive.
May be the best Italian food I've ever had, and I grew up in Brooklyn, NY, lived in Hoboken, NJ and work in Manhattan. The food was out of this world.
We have been dining at Vinny’s for at least a decade, and have never had a bad meal there. The pork chops, antipasto, cod stir fry and all eggplant dishes are particular favorites, but in all honesty, everything is delicious.
Great meal as usual at Vinny's...eggplant parm. , chicken /sausage special. pasta. salad. Continues to be our favorite Italian restaurant and much less hassle than North End. Also, very, very, pleasant staff
As usual both the food and service were great here at Vinny’s. Dona Bella was our server and she was both personable and very efficient. Hubby had his favorite Beef Braciole with angel hair pasta and I had chicken and eggplant parmesan with angel hair and as usual, the portions were huge so we took half our meals home. We Highly recommend Vinny’s!
Food was very good. tables are a little close together, but we will definately return
Out the usual food, something missing. Must have new kitchen staff
We had a party of six and eveyone was happy with their meals. Staff was very welcoming and accommodating. We had a little wait but worth it.
We will definitely return!!
