Vines Grille and Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
Friday night, 8 pm reservation for 2. Restaurant side not too busy lots of parties of 2. Waiters were knowledgeable of the entire menu as he pretty much went over the whole thing which was a bit redundant. Pick a few items and the specials would be better... received out bottle of wine quickly with out bottle of water but a waiter did not return for 10 minutes to take our order and what I could see only had about 6 other people to take care of for a 2 person team. Calamari app came out in 5 minutes not bad and they were delicious, and then after they cleared the app plates my bread service came which should have came after our wine was brought to table. Few minutes after our dinner arrived. Presentations were very nice and appealing. We ordered 2 filets 1 mid well and 1 mid rare, side of Brussels with panthers and the rosted beats. Beats were perfect, the brussel sprouts were really salty, and our steaks were a bit salty as well as not cooked properly. The one was well done and the other was medium tonalmost mid well. Did not let server know as I was already in satisfied and just want to finish and be gone. I know for that place I could have redone my entire meal because I would have because I myself work In the hospitality business on and I drive upscale hotel/restaurant and for the price you pay I expect perfection but we did not have the time for it to be corrected. Been there once before and had no issues
Felt rushed, starters arrived minutes we ordered !
Waiter needed training , did not know how to deal with allergies
He had verbal diahrea , instead of starting off asking if we had any food allergies he went in a 10 minute spiel listing all his favourites
Not the service that one would expect from a high end retaurant
Food was just mediocre for the high price. We ordered crab claws as an appetizer. They were frozen and and not very flavorful. I always look forward to crab claws when I visit Florida due to their freshness. This was not the case this time. At $80 for 5 crab claws, this was disappointing. Lobster bisque was quite bland. We were brought asparagus instead of the brussel sprouts we ordered. While mistakes are understandable, the mistake was met with only a “that’s on me” from our server when the mistake was brought to his attention. We were eventually brought our brussel sprouts at no extra cost, but no formal apology was made. This experience was not worth the hefty cost.
Our waiter was a pompous gentleman named Kevin. Two of three bottles of wine we attempted to order (all in the 150-175 price point) were unavailable. The wait staff assistant, Sora(sp?)was excellent and tried to cover for Kevin’s disinterest. The food was fair at best. Certainly not reflective of the price. Very, very disappointing. Would recommend going somewhere else.
We had a terrific time from start to finish at Vines. Scott, Aaron, and ?? were our team of three who did a great job. They complemented each other well - and brought fun to our dinner. The food was outstanding - and the wine list is super. The jazz band in the bar area was an added treat.
The food and service was exceptional but i do recommend to speak to the guest a little less; we felt like the servers were interrupted us while we were trying to eat and talk. Dont be so fast to take away plates also, you can ask once then the guest will tell you when they are don with their food. Overall, great atmosphere and great service; i would go back again and again.
I was under the impression this was a great choice for a fine dinning experience. The menus choices were perfect, our servers for dining were more then wonderful. The bar area is the first you see , which is usually perfect, Perhaps enjoy a cocktail before dining. Unfortunately only the female bartenders are inappropriately dressed or should I say bare all. You would think the attire for female and male servers should be the same standards. I didn't see the servers in the dining area with their breasts almost completely exposed ...I won't be back again for a business meeting again.
Great decor and staff appearance, seated us on time. Staff very professional and attentive, the food however was very disappointing. We ordered the Grouper and Filet medallions. Each had a corresponding sauce. Béarnaise sauce for the Grouper and Marsala sauce for the Filet. Both dishes were so salty they were nearly unedible. We attributed it mostly to the sauces. We won't go back and can't recommend it to others.
Could not have been more pleased. Had 12 clients for a dinner and the service was as good as I’ve ever had. Don’t normally write reviews but was compelled to do this. So pleased. Took the same group to Seasons last year down the street and it was awful. Many thanks to these people
Food was good and our waitress was sweet. But we were 10 minutes late because of traffic and they gave away our table. Sat us in the bar, which we were fine with. Took along time to bring out the salads and soups, then brought out the entrees a few minutes later. Not enough time to enjoy the soups ir salads. One of the meals came out much later than the others. I get they are busy but they are always busy, should have it down. But like i said food was really good.
We were there on new years eve. They offered a special menu and their regular menu. We chose the regular menu. I had the papardelle Bolognese. It was, in my humble opinion, the best Bolognese sauce I have ever had in a restaurant. Bested only by my first wife's Italian grandmother.
My wife had the bacon wrapped filet mignon medallions, and it was excellent as well.
The restaurant has a great wine list, and offers quite a nice variety by the glass.
I would highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. They also offer complimentary valet parking, which is very convenient, because there are several busy restaurants using the same lot.
Had dinner reservations for two on New Years Eve. I acknowledge that holiday dinners are not easy due to the large volume of orders going into the kitchen, I must say this was THE WORST food I've had in my 30 years of holiday restaurant dining!
Our Grilled Octopus appetizer was too fishy tasting and had too much vinaigrette flavoring on it. The steak, in my Surf and Turf, was too dry, and the Chocolate Mousse was the consistency of cake batter. We were so disappointed!
The one positive thing that occurred, was that the Waiter noticed our less than happy faces, and approached the General Manager, who unexpectefly gave us a discount on our bill (which was nice)!
Sorry, but I wouldn't recommend this place!
Our party of 6 were celebrating my parents 53rd wedding anniversary and this place was perfect. Scott and Aaron were our servers and they made the night one to remember. From the melt in your month sea bass, enjoyable old world red wine and lively jazz music. We are coming back for the bacon at the bar next time. Thanks Vines for first class experience.
Cuisine is not consistent! The stake was overcocked, tough and stringy the last time I was there. The wine was excellent, other dishes were good. Staff tends to interrupt conversations as they take turns to ask if all is OK. At least four different people came over to check if the food was good without me having placed any complaints. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Service was very good, wine list was great, and the food ranged from good to very good, but the the music from the bar area was pretty distracting - just too loud for us. That being said - we knew we were taking a chance when it came to the music (we'd been to the bar many times, this was our first time for dinner) and we still had a good time. I'd choose this restaurant again if I was looking for a nice dinner for a crowd of energetic friends - we would not have to worry about being the loudest table in the dining room. ;-)
Wagu tartar appetizer wonderful, lamb excellent, fillet minion tough. Outstanding wine list but the bottle we had which goes for $45 was $130 and this is on the high side for a mark up.
We love the live music, a band, not just one guy with tracks.
Go here with the corporate Amex.
Not your steakhouse chain, a little expensive but very quaint! Our so called waiter who was a man talked over you, he never really did anything else, thanks to his female assistant for actually waiting on us! My Chilean Seabass was awesome while my wife’s Filet was also good.
There are many restaurants to chose from on restaurant row in Orlando this was OK
Early dinner so restaurant was empty. However, it was happy hour so bar was noisy. Unfortunately we were seated close to/facing the bar so it was noisy for us. We should have asked to move. We had questions about the wine list but the manager/som was busy so we made a decision on our own. We were told the manager would stop by our table, but that never happened.
The food was delicious, (we both ordered steak) and the service was great. Our waiter and assistant were very attentive. We will definitely be back.
The services was really fantastic! Jason was attentive and personable. I appreciate their patientnce not to push so quickly through the meals to move us out. We also had the manager and the lead wine expert at our table checking since we brought some amazing wine from our cellar amazing customer service. I was impressed with service.
