The food here is tremendous. The best filet mignon myself and my husband have had in a long while. The dining room is tastefully appointed, very classy. The service was great. We live an hour away but would brave I-4 to go back again.
We reserved a table for 11:45pm, and upon arrival we were seated without our host informing us that the kitchen would be closing in 15 mins. We were unable to eat, and had to leave to find dinner elsewhere. Had we known the kitchen was closing, we would have been able to place an order. The wait staff also seemed to be intoxicated and we witnessed one of the bartenders taking a shot. Our first time attempting to dine here, and very possibly our last.
It was good you have to remember is a steak house so is pricey but overall the service was good and the food was great we had the bone in prime rib and lobster Mac it was really good but a little on the $ said
Service was excellent. A little disappointed and confused that we couldn't get happy hour price drinks since we were at a table and not the bar (which was packed). Calamari was excellent, Vines salad was lovely. I got the sea bass and was a little disappointed, almost dry and the risotto was good (was there any lobster?) but not great. And description included asparagus, was looking forward to some beautiful green spears but there were about 3 smaller pieces mixed into risotto. So fine, tasty but not GREAT as it should be for the price.
I am always impressed with this restaurant. The service is always first class
SPECTACULAR...FOOD, SERVICE...JUST SPECTACULAR. WILL BE BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN
I love this place. The food was wonderful and the cocktails were phenomenal!
Great experience overall
We brought 2 bottles of wine in and purchased a third. We were still charged an escalating corkage few on the 2 bottles we brought in. All the steaks that were ordered were over cooked.
This place is way over priced and we will not be back. There are way too many good restaurants in Orlando to waste your money here.
We have gone to Vines numerous times and the food is always outstanding. Their wait staff is highly trained and takes very good care of you. The wine list is very good and priced reasonably. We will continue to go because they know how to take care of the customer.
Absolutely horrible experience! From rancid octopus served that once we returned it the chef took it off the menu because yes indeed it was spoiled! Chef should of never brought to our table. Beef waygu was missing the field greens , waiter came back and said the chef didn’t like the look of the greens so he left them off. Then why would you serve it? Ordered most expensive steak and it was horrible ! Meet was black and no flavor at all. Was returned. An absolutely horrible experience and was embarrassed I chose this restaurant for our friends. Will not be going there again
High-end restaurant with excellent sea food and superior service by knowledgeable attendants. Love the music and the food.
Didn’t care for the food, steak was terrible & the lobster Mac & cheese was Dry no flavor. Nice set up, terrible food need a new chef
Everyone was very nice. Portions were good size. My husband loves the bacon that they serve at the bar while we had our pre-dinner drinks!
Service overall was good. Service started off excellent. Pacing was very good. Band playing on bar side was way too loud. Drums, trumpet etc all too much for space with low ceilings. Hard to have conversation on dining room side with the band playing. Wedge salad was very good. My bone in NY steak ordered Med Rare came out raw from outer edge all the way through. It was heralded as dry aged prime but I question that. No one checked back right after I cut into it to see if it was cooked correctly. Ate very little of it and asked them to cook longer and I took home. Sea Bass entree was very good but not sure it should be on lobster risotto. The two seafoods were in competition with each other. The Sea Bass alone was delicate and cooked perfectly but the lobster risotto it rested on gave it a fishy taste. A wild mushroom or other non seafood risotto would have been a better fit. Lobster mac and cheese side was great. One of the best I have had. Frites were not crispy at all. Soggy. They should have been crisp on exterior. First time dining here but disappointed with their kitchen execution on the steak and the frites. Dining room was not packed like you would expect for a Saturday night. They charge fine dining prices but not sure they know what they want to be.....bar with entertainment or fine dining restaurant. Not worth the price for the entire experience.
Food not as good as a Fleming’s or Del Friscos. Just wasn’t cooked or seasoned well. Not a lot of fast at all.
I choose Vines Grille and Bar because they were offering 1000 Open Table Points, so the promotions do work. The bar was full, but the restaurant was empty (on a Friday night at 8:00 pm) The prices were in line with Morton's.The Lobster bisque was small, pasty and tasteless. At $12, I expected more. The rib eye was good. burnt on the outside, which I like. Unfortunately, I order medium rare and the steak was served medium. I did enjoy it. The creamed spinach was made with fresh spinach. It was very good with hints of lemon and garlic.
The service was attentive and the food came out rapidly. The waitress was friendly and welcoming.
Overall, I was satisfied with the meal,. However, at $92 after tip and without wine, the meal was far below its peers.
My husband and I and our three teenagers came here for dinner on a Thursday night. We ordered Filet Oscar Medallions, Chilean Sea Bass, Pork Chops, New York Strip and 12 oz Filet.
To say the noise level in this restaurant is “energetic” is an UNDERstatement! We couldn’t carry on conversations with our family at our own table.
Our server was inattentive most of the time except when he dropped off the check. Walked away initially without asking my husband what he wanted to drink (after he took our drink orders... we thought he was walking over to the other side of the table to get his drink order and just walked away). Once they came they were never refilled. Our food took forever to come out (we were trying to be patient but after a while we started looking at other tables wondering if anyone that sat after us was eating). Our server never even came over to say the proverbial “it should be out soon”.
Our food was delivered by a food runner and our server never came by to check on us once it was delivered. No “everything come out ok? Who needs more drinks? Can I get anyone anything else?”
My husband never got a steak knife, my lump crab meat was not put on top of my filet, and my son’s (medium rare) steak was grossly undercooked. All things that could have been remedied rather quickly had our server ever showed up. We finally flagged someone down after about 15 minutes and they located our server. He took my son’s cold steak back to the grill to cook longer and brought it back charred , dry and over cooked. Honestly it didn’t even look like the same piece of meat. Finally a manager came over and asked us how our meal was. We were polite but said it was less than desirable. He comped my son’s steak (which he should have and we thanked him).
Our meal total was $365 ($315 after the steak was removed). We tipped 15% (which is the bare minimum I would tip although this server didn’t deserve it).
We will not be going back.
Outstanding service. Nice to hear the live jazz band in the background, too.
Aweful! Service was slow and food was cold!
Excellent birthday meal while visiting Orlando. Staff was very attentive and professional. Will definitely visit again when in town.
Terrible service- we couldn’t tell who our servers were and when we had some kitchen mistakes but the management staff avoided us and didn’t own the mistakes or try to fix. Will steer people away from here when there are many better options around.
pricey but awesome steaks! actually my wife's NY strip was initially tough and grisseled, but they made it right! by giving her another, cooked to perfection, she ate the whole thing with the delish peppercorn sauce! ( she never eats a whole steak!) excellent wine topped off the meal, and for our trouble, she got a carrot cake slice that was awesome. My ribeye was one of the best ever. waitstaff could use better wine-pairing training
Everything was great! A nice way to celebrate my birthday!
Somewhat a let down. The restaurant is very loud, the bar was active and band was playing but overall, it’s a loud place even on the other side of the bar. Very expensive for the portions and it was just okay. The $89 long bone aged ribeye was mediocre. I really don’t believe it was aged at all. The steak looked and smelled great, but had no taste and was fatty and tough. Really disappointing! Ruth Cris, Moon Fish grill or Johnny’s Hideaway would have been better choices for dinner. Unlikely to dine here in the future.
Great birthday dinner celebration with GREAT FOOD and GREAT service.
The ambiance was great but the food was disappointing. I had the chicken and the breast was over cooked. My wife had the salmon and it was over cooked however the server did offer to replace it and then it was prepared perfectly.
The value was a little expensive and the happy hour was only limited the bar. That was really disappointing.
Service was very sterile; server did not talk about the menu, was very quick. Good wine list, but overpriced (I am in the wine trade), food was better than average, but not worth the price. Ribeye was good and properly cooked, buy a lot of fat (yes, they are the cut with the most marbling, but this one was too fat).
Sub par to the area steakhouses
When we first got there there they seemed busy. We stood there for about 10 minutes and then a man walked over and asked if we had been helped. I said I had a reservation and requested a booth. He told me no Booths were open ,that reservation sat longer then expected. I really had hoped for an intimate dining experience, but I was sat in between two tables with other guest only inches apart from our table. There were other open tables around the restaurant so I am not sure why we were piled on other guest.
Another thing I felt was disappointing is that they had live music, had I been given the option I would have enjoyed a view. We had never been there before so we did not know what to expect, but the host did not ask us if we had been there or really welcome us. First impression was rocky but .....
The food was excellent, and our servers were too!
This is now the 3rd time we have gone to the vines for our wedding anniversary dinner. We are always treated so well and the wine list is amazing. It’s now a tradition for us❤️
The staff was unbelievable attentive! I think we had 4-5 folks serving us and the manager stopped by as well. Everyone seems to enjoy their job and they work well as a team. Great staff with incredible kindness and genuine assistance.
Superb customer service and excellent food! We loved the atmosphere and were treated like VIP’s. Definitely would go back!
Vines is always a great dinner!! We will be back!
It was my wife's birthday and I know she likes steak, so I thought we should try it. We were seated in a very nice corner booth. This is fine dining at its best, with the kind of attention you would want, despite the fact that our two servers were also serving a very large party at another table; and, the restaurant was very busy for a weeknight.
I started out with a Negroni; and, my wife a Perrier Joett Brut, for her birthday. We also split a Wagyu Beef Carpaccio. Our daughter opted for the Caesar salad; but, her friend stuck with bread. Everything was delicious; and, we had plenty of time to relax and enjoy each other's company.
For mains, it was steak: Dry-aged Bone-in Filet de Mignon for me; and, an 8 oz Filet for my daughter; and, fish: Sea Bass for my wife; and, Blacked Salmon for our daughter's friend. The steaks were cooked perfectly medium rare; and, the 42-day dry-aged beef was some of the best dry-aged beef I have ever had! It was well-marbled, intensely "beefy" without the gaminess that sometimes is associated with dry-aging. The fish dishes were spectacular as well. Everyone but me finished their entire meals; but, I took half of it home.
To go with the steaks, my wife and I split a bottle of one of our favorite wines, The Prisoner. We had ordered the Eleanor from Coppola; but, they were out. My daughter and I split Grilled Asparagus, which were tender, tasty, cooked perfectly; and, simply delicious. I also (belatedly) ordered the cognac peppercorn sauce, which was promptly delivered, despite my misstep.
Desserts included Carrot Cake for me; NY Cheesecake (with a Happy Birthday wish) for my wife; and, an unfinished Cappuccino for our daughter (too strong; but, I finished it!)
Service throughout was exceptional. The decor and furnishings are very nice; and, very relaxing. The room does get noisy with large groups; but, having a corner booth insulated us a bit. We had a great time; and, hope to come back soon!
We absolutely loved our experience. Delicious food, great atmosphere, and our waiter Scott was the best. We will be back!
I got to Vines all the time at least one or twice a month. It's always been a very relaxed atmosphere. The last few times its been different, the younger waiters are not as attentive as the mature staff. Chris as always your the best.
Went for a late Valentine's and I must say I was pleased! Food and atmosphere was nice and service was pleasant. Loved the live music! Would definitely come back!
