Vines Grille and Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
Service was very good, wine list was great, and the food ranged from good to very good, but the the music from the bar area was pretty distracting - just too loud for us. That being said - we knew we were taking a chance when it came to the music (we'd been to the bar many times, this was our first time for dinner) and we still had a good time. I'd choose this restaurant again if I was looking for a nice dinner for a crowd of energetic friends - we would not have to worry about being the loudest table in the dining room. ;-)
Wagu tartar appetizer wonderful, lamb excellent, fillet minion tough. Outstanding wine list but the bottle we had which goes for $45 was $130 and this is on the high side for a mark up.
We love the live music, a band, not just one guy with tracks.
Go here with the corporate Amex.
Not your steakhouse chain, a little expensive but very quaint! Our so called waiter who was a man talked over you, he never really did anything else, thanks to his female assistant for actually waiting on us! My Chilean Seabass was awesome while my wife’s Filet was also good.
There are many restaurants to chose from on restaurant row in Orlando this was OK
Early dinner so restaurant was empty. However, it was happy hour so bar was noisy. Unfortunately we were seated close to/facing the bar so it was noisy for us. We should have asked to move. We had questions about the wine list but the manager/som was busy so we made a decision on our own. We were told the manager would stop by our table, but that never happened.
The food was delicious, (we both ordered steak) and the service was great. Our waiter and assistant were very attentive. We will definitely be back.
The services was really fantastic! Jason was attentive and personable. I appreciate their patientnce not to push so quickly through the meals to move us out. We also had the manager and the lead wine expert at our table checking since we brought some amazing wine from our cellar amazing customer service. I was impressed with service.
The food was excellent. The service at the table was great. The only negative was that we had a reservation for 7:30 and we didn’t get seated until almost 8:30. The hostess did a poor job letting us know how long it would be. If she had done a better job we would have had an extra drink at the bar.
We usually have a great experience at this restaurant. There were four of us. However although we had reservations that were made a month in advance and confirmed twice, when we showed up at 7 pm we were told there was a 15-20 min wait. Unacceptable! The young lady at the front gave us a story that made no sense. We asked for the manager who was not very helpful. We would have felt better if he had offered us a free drink while we waited. We could not believe how nonchalant he was. I don’t think we will be back anytime soon. The restaurant doesn’t seem to be well managed.
Food and service were great. There were a number of large parties in the same room and so it was very noisy. There is a more private room but that also had a large party. Bar is very fun and the jazz music is a nice touch. Not good if you are expecting a romantic, quiet evening.
Abosolutely wonderful! Highly recommended. Atmosphere was terrific for sophisticated NYC style and not over the top. Excellent food in presentation, service and delicious. Our waiters were extremely informative and helpful with our selections. Will come back. Thank you!
We had the feeling that the waiter was defensive. Instead of explaining when we asked questions, he responded defensively. For example; Can you bring our tiddler some bread? He responded with, "Well it takes a minute". When our food arrived, 2 waiters brought it out and l got our daughter's hot fries dumped all over me and down my dress. They did give us desserts and a coupon. The food was great. Not sure if we will use the coupon. Well see!
I always go to The Vines when in Orlando and recommend it to friends going. While it is on the loud side.... it easily accomadated 7 of us which in itself would be loud. There were several large groups that night. Our dinner was wonderful and with 7, we had quite a variety of apps, sides and dinner choices. My filet was perfectly cooked and fork tender. The Wedge salad had a different take on the traditional and was excellent as was the risotto and scallops. Can't wait to go back! One more comment.... our server (s) were wonderful...attentive without being obnoxious!
The smoked octopus appetizer was outstanding. Wine selection was nice but WAY overpriced. Steak was terrible. Due to huge portions and high prices, elected to split the rib eye. Ordered med rare, came out med well. It was swiftly and apologetically exchanged for a proper temperature, but I can buy a better cut at Publix, any day. When check came, they charged for two steaks. At $385 plus tip for the two of us, the whole experience was something we won't repeat.
First time at this establishment and it was wonderful. My hubby and I had been to the theater and wanted a nice place to dine and selected Vines. We were very happy to see it looked so appealing and elegant but modern and not at all stuffy. The crab cake we had was very fresh and perhaps one of the best we've ever had! When the fillets came, we were bowled over by the great taste, juicy, done to perfection...just absolutely flavorful. The service was excellent, very attentive. After our meal, we sat at the bar area and had after dinner drinks and listened to the Jazz band. Loved it! It was nice to be able to do that at the same venue as dining. We really had a great dining experience and will return upon our next visit to Orlando.
The bar and music were absolutely too too loud. The restaurant is beautiful but the noise from bar and loud music overhead ruin it. The servicers were extremely attentive. My cauliflower soup was very salty and the server immediately returned it to the kitchen and I received a greens salad which was very good. My filet was excellent, cooked to perfection. The Brussels sprouts and mushrooms were very good . My husband had Stone Crabs but the ice for the crabs melted so he had a puddle of water on his plate resulting in a mess. The food in general was very good . The servicers were excellent, but there are many places with better ambiance and less noise.
Vines Grill trys to be top-end restaurant but fails. The restaurant has an EXTENSIVE wine inventory. Steak was well prepared, but sides a bit disappointing, creme brulee average at best. Overall-> meal was good, but pricey. Location is convenient. Not a venue if you are looking for quiet & intimate.
Really liked our server, but once the food was cold and not meeting our expectations, he seemed to ignore us and let his "assistant" deal with our table. We were not offered the opportunity to order something else, or a removal from our bill, which was a shame as there seemed to be quite a few "managers/observers" standing around, and not one came over to offer an apology or anything.
We had heard alot of good things about the place, but after eating there, we wouldn't go back. The filet was "stringy" which was very surprising, and none of the food was "hot" just lukewarm at best. Our friend had the French Onion soup, and it came out with the cheese a little "raw" and when he sent it back to be a little more melted, it came out burnt! Then when he tasted the soup and told the waiter that it was extremely salty, the waiter blamed it on the cheese, but continued to debate that it wasn't salty? The dining room was not that busy, although the bar area was, so I couldn't use the excuse of the place was overwhelming the kitchen, as I didn't see that to be true. Nice atmosphere, but definitely could not compare with Ruth Chris around the corner, at all. My money spends very well over there.
Nice restaurant, more geared to conventions and business dinners. Food service is deplorable. Waited over an hour for entrees, and when we got the dishes, the rack of lamb had not been cooked - yes, raw meat! Given the very prices on menu, I would've expected a much better experience.
We ordered the steak tartare and calamari for appetizers. Both were wonderful but the steak tartare was my favorite and absolutely amazing. Our main entree was the pasta bolognese and the filet medallions. The pasta was a perfect al dente and the sauce was fantastic. The filet was melt in your mouth tender. This was our first visit and we will most definitely be returning. It is worth the 45 minute drive.
The service and food were excellent. My wife and I had a Vines salad which was all greens with goat cheese and beets. We also enjoyed the steak filet that was prepared perfectly and was delicious. Our waiters were great. Phil and Tony were right there every time we needed them. They had a live musician and a huge selection of wines.
We were there 2 hours waiting for food. Waiter said they burned my bone in ribeye and there were none of those left, so kitchen would make me a plain ribeye. Still waiting a hour later for rare steak while watching other tables get bone in ribeyes We were one of the first tables seated at 7:00 and we're still waiting for food at 9:00, despite every other table already enjoying their food. No manager came up to apologize. Waiter disappeared for a hour after the burnt steak. Needless to say we never got our food. Walked out. Worst dining experience of our life. Waiter had a total attitude. I have been to this place before and have had a great experience. Waiter thought I was somebody else which may have been the problem. Who knows. Service is what makes or breaks a restaurant and this time it sucked. To many other choices in Orlando to deal with this. I would have fired the waiter if I was the manager.
