Vincenzo's Italian Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We had an amazing experience while celebrating some birthdays. Casey, our server, was incredible. He was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our experience special and memorable. I had never been but most certainly will be returning. The owner came around and interacted with the patrons. It truly felt like an experience and not just dinner. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. The food was great and from the time we walked in the door, everyone was very friendly.
As always, Vincenzo and Augustino never cease to impress. From the chef's whim appetizer, to the tableside ceasar salad, to the amazing entrees topped off with chef's delectable tiramisu, the dinner was amazing. Our server Mark was helpful and attentive without being annoying. Just a great evening.
Food was excellent. Service was slow and server was inattentive (way too long of a time in between visits to our table). They were not busy when we went. Too bad for the price we paid, service should have been top notch. The water boys were excellent. They were super attentive. If you don’t mind just sitting at your table forever, great spot.
This was our first Dinning experience with Vincenzo's. It was a special occasion to celebrate my wife's birthday. Every expectation we hoped for was more than met by the friendly and hospitable staff at Vincenzo's. The seating was comfortable for our party of four and our server Erin, was engaging, interesting and very attentive. The food was outstanding. Best Pasta I think
I've ever tasted. The wine and food reminded us all of our trip to Italy and the fine dinning we enjoyed there. We will certainly return and I would strongly recommend it to Italian food lovers and anyone who wants something different and special.
I was in town on business and Vincenzo's was highly recommended. The ambiance was perfect the service was outstanding the menu was very interesting but the food was awful!!!! I suspect the serving staff was aware of the food quality because what was a clearly professional serving staff never once asked " how was your meal".
As always, Vincenzo's elegant ambiance, delicious entrees and wonderful wine choices make for a memorable evening. The tables are not placed too close to the other tables so you can actually talk to your friends in a normal tone of voice. Servers are always polite and attentive. Come downtown and enjoy one of the best restaurants in Louisville.
This restaurant has been around a long time and is considered by many a staple of the Louisville dining scene. I was disappointed on several levels. First, the food was good but it was not great. At those price points I expect food that is better than I can make at home. The presentation is very nice and there are lots of options. Second, the decor is really tired. Also at that price point I expect a full experience - great ambiance, innovative decor, outstanding service and quality food. This place misses the mark. Our table of 4 was seated at a really large curved banquette with a round table. The table seems to have been the type used for banquets because it had legs that awkwardly hit almost all of our knees. The proportion of that setting would have been better for a large group. The restrooms are really outdated and they had bottles of soft soap on the counters. The entire space design feels tired. Finally, while the service was good it was not outstanding. At a fine dining restaurant I expect to never have to ask for my water glass to be refilled. So, now we can say we tried it but we will not go back.
I love Vincenzo's. My friend and I went for the pre-theater menu before we went to the theater. We arrived early and the restaurant was practically empty but we were seated in a lonely corner in the back by the restroom. I could help but wonder if this placement was because we were two women. Even though Vincenzo's advertises the pre-theater menu and it was obvious that we were going to the theater( why else would we have dinner at 5:30?) we had to ask for the special menu. Once we did our server made us feel as though we were just riff-raff. I have never known the service at this restaurant to be anything but exemplary but not that night. We waited for the special menu, we had a long wait before we ordered, and quite a wait for our entree and dessert. I ordered hot tea to have with my dessert but it arrived after I finished my dessert. Finally we had an extended wait for the check which meant we had to hurry to make the curtain. If Vincenzo's doesn't want the pre-theater crowd they should not offer a special menu and I think they should certainly serve it with the same attitude they do other diners.
The real deal. My wife is Italian and particular especially when it comes to the tomato sauce. The owner greeted us and helped with the presentation of the meal. LOVED everything. The menu the service the environment. We've dined across Italy this place is legit! Nice to meet you Vincenzo!!
The food was served on the best looking dinnerware. The plates looked as if the were stained. The server was kind and professional. The hostess was aloof. She was more interested in checking her phone than me. I attended a function a week prior and thought everyone was great, but when I visited the restaurant a week later, I wasn't impressed.
We enjoyed an outstanding dinner for our anniversary. Mark and Trevor took very good care of us. It was so nice to see people who not only take pride in good service but enjoy what they are doing. The table side presentation of the courses only added to our experience. Though we enjoyed all the food we really took note of the Sea Bass. Well done to all and thank you for helping us celebrate in style.
Our dinner at Vincenzo’s was fabulous - they were super busy but the wait staff worked hard to make everyone feel special - and Vinnie himself cooked our meal table side and served us- what a special night!! Would highly recommend!! Food was so scrumptious- and a complimentary dessert sampler to recognize our anniversary!
This is one of my favorites in Louisville. Just happened upon it due to mishap with another well known restaurant reservation several years ago, and have been back every since. Food was amazing as always (love the pasta appetizers at the start) and the veal was so tender and flavorful - it melted in your mouth. Service this time was a little slow, but they did have every table booked. The family and personal touch is still there, with Vincenzo himself coming to great us upon our arrival. I hope the family can carry on this wonderful dining experience for years to come.
The food quality was very poor for their rating.
The cesar salad had balsamic on it...
The entrees came out luke warm at best even though they have their heating show ritual. This tells me that the food must have been sitting for some time.
The service was very very slow ant the price was very high.
I don’t mind paying for quality either.
Lastly I made the reservation with a birthday selection, I even told the server as a reminder, and they still forgot.
Definitely not the experience we were expecting.
We started with a simple but very nice green salad with a simple Balsamic vinegarette dressing. The sea bass was perfectly prepared. A beautiful meal. And as always the service was attentive and responsive to our news to be able to leave on time to get to the orchestra.
Overall a good experience, we have eaten there before. I would suggest you enforce your recommended dress code of "business casual". I wore a sport coat and wife was in a nice dress for dinner.....we were tucked away in a back corner (for the second time). Numerous people were wearing casual even gym wear, t-shirts, jeans, .....this was 730pm dinner. The lack of etiquette on some diner's part took away from the elegant setting/experience.
Vincenzo's is one of the places that does it all right. From the appetizers, to the entrees and desserts, paired with an incredible wine list, you HAVE to give them a try. My wife and I have been here multiple times and are planning a return trip next month. We met Vincenzo, (since he came to our table) and they brought anniversary tiramisu (best we've had) and cheesecake. If you haven't been here, make it your next stop!
We three were the first customers for lunch on a holiday Monday. Service was excellent and friendly--maybe a little too friendly: too much "young man" and "young lady" for my taste. We are all seniors. The soup and Chicken Marsala for me, a beef dish for one friend and a club sandwich for another friend-- were all good but not truly memorable. We paid about what you would pay at one of the better
Chains or at an upscale pub. Overall, a nice experience. Would like to return someday and have No hesitation in recommending it to others.
