Vin 48 Resaurant Wine Bar
The food was spectacular and the service was even better! The pork chops are amazing!!
We visit Avon 3 or 4 times a year and Vin48 is consistently good. You are required to sit in the bar for HH specials, but it is usually pretty loud so we opt for restaurant seating.
This is not a good choice for children, nor for the extremely hungry - the menu consists of small plates and large plates, but no servings are over the top.
Would certainly recommend.
Not what I expected.
Very lively, active restaurant for a weekday evening at the tail end of the ski season. As always, very creative menu, well prepared dishes, and great service.
Great food, incredibly nice staff. Beautiful interior. Great wine list. Pricey but worth it!
Excellent food and service!!!!
Overpriced and small portions. Not cooked superbly. Generally better for apps at the bar.
Great specials and good wine selection.
We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised and look forward to going again soon!
Can’t believe we haven’t been here before. Really delicious!
Always good, great tapas and nice place. Our favorite in the Avon/Beaver Creek area. The wild mushroom dish, the goat cheese croquette salad, the octopus were standouts.
Unique menu with delicious, service is always friendly and professional, warm ambiance which still has a lot of light and windows. My favorite place in Avon.
Food and service always great!
Loved the menu. Excellent waiter. Great evening.
Great food great service
excellent service. Steve was our waiter. Also owner/sommelier was very helpful.
We sat down early for a date, ordered a bottle of wine recommended by the waiter, which was excellent! Then we ordered a series of small plates from the menu including the grilled baby octopus. Outstanding! The charcuterie plate, bison carpaccio, hummus, and other things were all amazing. We will absolutely be back!!
Quality food well presented, tasty and timely served Some fabric installed to help with noise level would help
On our skitrip to Beaver Creek we visited Vin48.
The service was good, the food outstanding and the wine choice exquise.
We will go there again.
Hanna was great and food was delicious!
Really really good food. Goat tacos and tilefish were superb ad was my wife's mussels.
Had great fun with our excellent server .
Good selection if wines.
I really enjoyed my dinner at Vin 48. Our waiter was very friendly and informative. He helped me with my dinner and my wine choice. Both were fantastic. I had one of the specials of the day, the tile fish. The tomato/clam sauce and the basil oil really helped to showcase the fish and the morels. However, my favorite dish was on my husband's plate. A black pepper biscuit with sauteed wild mushrooms and goat cheese, a surprisingly good combination. We will go back!
First time patron to Vin48 this past Thursday for happy hour then dinner. Outstanding experience top to bottom. So became 2nd time visitor Saturday night same story. Will become part of my Avon rotation from now on!
Food and atmosphere good except bison was a little undercooked. The pork meatballs, grouper tacos, and duck tasty.
Not inexpensive but not too pricey.
Service was EXCELLENT!!
Although we didn’t make “happy hour”, we heard it was excellent
Small plates were fabulous. The ‘special’ ribeye was mostly inedible fat.
We enjoyed a really nice dinner with wine, served by a wonderful waitress—I didn't get her name, but she is lovely!
We dine every time we’re in vail/BC. Great wine choices per the name. Still very popular after many years in Avon. (12 yes) Enjoyed the foie gras, goat cheese salad. grouper special
Service was great, apps great everything about dinner was great the only issue and a big one for me I had the 70.00 dollar ribeye and it was the fattest piece of meat I have ever been given. I literately had two bites and the rest was fat. Can’t believe chef even put it on the plate. Would go back and give it another chance but felt like I got ripped off on the Ribeye
Once a local favorite, not any more! While our friendly yet quite spacey (or perhaps just inexperienced) waiter fumbled with the cocktail orders and he could not make up for very bad food. Beef tenderloin ordered medium came out blood red (should the waiter have noticed?) and was returned for a 'reheat'. while waiting for the return of the beef, my friend attempted to cut her broccolini with the steak knife and could not. The return of the now overcooked and tough beef rendered that meal inedible. Meanwhile, I picked at the seared yellowfin tuna that was gray on the edges but rare inside. Neither the tuna nor the bok choy had any taste ... how do you do that? The similina linguine in smoked tomato broth was tasty but was not intended to be the only salvageable part of my meal.
My friends tenderloin and the broccolini were removed from her bill; I did not add to the experience by complaining about my meal, but paid $60+ for quite an unenjoyable dining experience. The manager came by to express a rather disingenuous apology so that counts for something.
I don't know what has happened to the quality and service here, but I did note that the restaurant seemed filled with one-timers likely drawn in by the convenience of the location after a day of skiing. They also probably didn't mind overpaying for their food. However, as a local who will pay but wants food and service at the level Vin48 once could be counted on for, we will not be going back any time soon.
Great Avon restaurant. We visit Beaver Creek once a year and always eat at Vin 48. The menu is has a lot of options (snacks, numerous small plates, and 6 - 7 mains). The service is always great and this year (February 26th) we had Steve as our waiter. I said to my wife, "I wish we could take Steve with to be our waiter at every restaurant we go to."
Great food, service was incredible!
We come here every year (4 years running) and have always loved it. The service is still amazing and the ambiance and drinks wonderful. But this year, the food was just not the same. Almost every dish we ordered (eg octopus, the recommended mussels and spaghetti bolognese), were all really blah. Lacking in flavor and just not tasty, especially for the high prices. The tuna itself in the entree was good, but the Asian sauce and noodles were not good. To be fair , the fried fish entree was fine, and the mushroom app tasty.
Overall we were left wondering if there is a new chef?? It’s too bad because this was our favorite restaurant in Avon.
Always a nice dining experience at Vin 48. Great wine selection as well.
So clearly this is a wine bar... We got to the restaurant 15 minutes prior to our reservation... We checked in and went straight to the bar as clearly our table was not ready. I asked the bartender what wines they had from Paso Robles (we are on a huge Paso Cabernet kick right now) and his reply was throwing a 27 page wine dictionary at me and telling me "look in there!" So I followed up and said "I really don't want to research your 27 page wine dictionary" to which he replied "I don't think we have any wines from Paso Robles." We settled for another bottle we were familiar with and waited for our table to become available. Finally 30 minutes later, which was 15 minutes after our reservation time, we were sat at our table. The waitress hands us the menus and low and behold one of the menu selections featured a wine pairing with a "Paso Robles Cab" So that was disappointing... The waitress was very friendly but she was not attentive and was hard to track down. Half of our food was rather average and lacked the flavors and quality you would expect from the price point they are charging. Really this is just a tourist trap with below average service and average food that capitalizes on a great location and people that have lots of money to spend with limited "higher end" restaurants. We ate at 4 of the top 5 trip advisor restaurants in Beaver Creek and this was hands down the worst by a long shot! Save your time and money and go to Zach's Cabin! It will cost you a little more ($50-$100) but the experience and food are infinitely better! The staff at Vin48 just seem to not care and don't really want to be there.
The food choice unique and delicious. Service was friendly and helpful. Everything we had was delicious and we shared our platters
Service was great. They need to hire a new grill cook, or at least make sure their steaks are being seasoned and cooked properly. My fiancée and I both got steaks, one tenderloin and their special New York strip. My tenderloin was bland and the strip was super undercooked and burnt on the outside. I would give them another chance but I wouldn’t order a steak again, especially for that price.
55$ “strip steak” was all fat and gristle. Pretty sure it was flank or lower quality. Had asked specifically if the strip was NY Strip and got a non answer. Asked for it to be cooked medium and it was more like medium rare...very red just short of bloody. Creamed spinach was also a disaster-the flour had not been cooked properly out of the cream. Surprised I didn’t find a lump. I was already not feeling great due to altitude so chose not to complain in person but was very very disappointed. Husband’s filet had to be returned to be cooked further but still came back very rare for a medium preference. Waitress was great. Ambiance was fine. Food was terrible.
Very good small-plates restaurant with a well-chosen wine list. Imaginative and well-executed dishes served in a friendly but professional manner. An excellent evening out all around!
This is a great place for small groups / friends/couples. Small plates to share, a nice variety of specials and of course...amazing wine list. We love it in every season.
We made a dinner reservation but wanted to be seated in the bar for happy hour. We were advised to come early, as it's a popular happy hour. We had a great table. The food was excellent, as was the wine featured for happy hour. Service was also excellent. We had a show to catch, and everything came on time, so it was easy to be on time for that performance. I would highly recommend this restaurant. There was a slight glitch involved in canceling the dinner reservation, but that got resolved quickly.
