Vim and Victor
The all-day eatery features a grab & go counter (open from 6:30am - 9pm daily), alongside a full service restaurant and bar (open at 11am daily) - perfectly suited for a family after a game in the field house, groups of friends after a yoga class, or a post-spa cocktail. The grab and go menu at Vim & Victor features a variety of smoothies, juices, pastries and seasonal pizzas, while the full service restaurant offers guests a selection of toasts, salads, burgers (including a plant-based option) and entrees such as a Whole Roasted Branzino and a Dry Aged Bone in Ribeye.

Friendly staff but the service needs polishing.
Hi LTee! Thanks for the feedback. We are working hard to implement further training for all employees to provide a greater level of service and hospitality for guests. We hope that you'll come visit again to see the improvement soon.
Great food, wonderful service and a fun, elegant yet casual atmosphere. Loved it!
Thanks so much! Come back and see us soon!
Torn about how many stars to give this place. The setting is fabulous, and my meal (the blackened grouper sandwich) was delicious. Was with a party of 4 at 6:30 on a weeknight. The service was comically bad. Our server was pleasant, but we had to really make an effort to get his attention at every turn. It was happy hour, but we were immediately told that they were out of all of the happy hour wines. I ordered one of the cold-pressed juice options. Long after my tablemates received their cocktails, the server returned to tell me they were out of the ingredients to make my drink. OK. I ordered a different beverage - the Grapeshot. A bit later the server returned - couldn't do that one either. I opted for water. Two of us really loved our dishes, my sandwich and my tablemate's hamburger. Two of us enjoyed but didn't rave about theirs - the kale quinoa salad with chicken, and the shaved ribeye sandwich. An order of brussels sprouts never appeared. Ordered a cup of gelato for dessert and it never appeared. Asked about it multiple times and was eventually offered it in a to-go cup as we were leaving. Two of our four checks had errors. Am guessing that the steady use by members, as well as folks there for an event will keep this place afloat because there are so few options close by. But if this were a stand-alone restaurant, the service would sink it very quickly.
Hello! I apologize for the poor service you received, but I'm glad to hear that the food was up to par. Please know that we are implementing new training for all servers and employees in an effort to improve the dining experience. We hope you'll give us another try soon. Thanks!
I had reservations and we were seated immediately. Food is great and service staff is nice. However wait times to get food and drinks was really bad. We belong to TSJ and eat here infrequently bc of this, even though the food is delicious. There’s some kind of misconnect about how food is made bc it takes so long 45-60 min.
Hi there, Thanks for your feedback. We are striving to make the service times shorter so members like you and guests can count on an enjoyable and timely meal in the restaurant regularly. We appreciate your notes and hope you'll stop by again soon.
nearly every entree was sold out...waitress forgot to bring the sides, the drinks, super slow service, steak was cooked nicely but by the time the plate made it to my table everything was cold... i guess at least they comped our appetizer and cocktails when they removed the undelivered side and drink... won’t be racing back
Hi there! Thanks so much for your honest feedback. We are implementing better training for our waitstaff to improve the guest experience . We hope you'll give us another chance in the future.
The food was actually pretty good - once it finally came out. We were there for an hour before it came out. For a facility that advertises having a meal in conjunction with sporting events, that’s a really long time to get a salad and a burger. The place was not crazy busy, but the servers seem to operate on a zone defense plan, which, combined with the slow kitchen, really impacted our enjoyment of the meal or sporting events that night. The management was very apologetic and adjusted our bill, which was the right thing to do, but better to pick up the pace on food instead. hopefully over time they will work out the kinks, because it’s a great facility.
Hi there! Thanks for your honest feedback. We are working on improving service times with better staffing and kitchen management. We hope you'll give us another chance in the future.
Waitstaff was overwhelmed and only half the tables were occupied
Waaaaayyyyyyy too expensive for what you get. We ordered 2 salads (with one skewer of meat each), two kids meals, and an order of sweet potato fries....bill was $75 w/ tip. We had no drinks either. Didn't have much of a choice to go there for dinner, as our child was playing in a hockey tournament at The St James. Food was good enough, but should have cost $25 less.
Not enough wait staff and food took very long to be delivered
Really the Best Wings in the Area!!! Happy hour is great!!!
What a pleasant surprise this was/ The food was excellent!!!
We are very glad that you enjoyed your time with us! Please visit us again soon!
We never got our food. Our party of 6 arrived for our confirmed reservation at 6:00 pm. After many apologies for the delay, the hostess seated us in a mostly empty restaurant at 6:20. We asked her to help us find our server at 6:30 and the hostess took our order. At 7:00 pm, the only soda we ordered was delivered with deep apologies for the wait. We explained that we were there to see my son's 7:15 pm hockey game and we needed to leave. She assured us that our food was coming right out. At 7:10 pm, we left. More apologies, offers to box our food to go just as soon as it was ready...but it still wasn't ready. We had to leave. On previous occasions, Vim and Victor has been painfully slow with many apologies, but never this bad. We hoped they'd work out the kinks after a few weeks. It's been 9 months. It's time to stop apologizing. We love The St. James and spend a great deal of time and money here, so I truly want to see this restaurant turn things around, but I don't think table service is working out. If you're at The St. James, order your food at the counter and take it to go or choose a table in the open seating area.
Hi Crackers. Thank you for your honest review. We hear your feedback and are working on improving speed of service with more thorough training with our new wait staff. We appreciate your time and hope you'll give us another try again soon.
A great destination whether you are a member of the club or just sitting down to watch a game on the three massive flat-screens.
Great food...Wholesome. HEALTHLY. Every dish is familiar yet prepared with a kind of flair that makes you re-think going to other restaurants.
You can really spend an entire day in the St James and eat Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner at Vim and Victor!!!
Thank you for sharing your experience! Come watch a game with us again soon!
Food was cold and took forever to get it. The restaurant wasn’t even crowded. So there is no excuse for cold food. The drinks from the bar were good though. They were nice and strong. Didn’t take as long to get them either. Unlike the food. The wait staff was excellent!
Had reservations and waited 10 minutes for the one worker to set large table for a group. Once we were seated it took another 10 minutes for someone to take a drink order. Once the food was served no one checked on us and we had to refill our own water glasses. The food was awesome especially the Cauliflower Nachos and Calamari but the service was slow and almost nonexistent.
Dear Bobby, Thank you for your honest review. We appreciate you choosing to dine with us and sincerely apologize for the service you received. Thank you for providing us feedback that can help us improve our customer service. We do hope that will not deter you from visiting us again in the future as we will have a new menu coming out in a few weeks. Sincerely, Sylvia
Cold ambiance, sterile environment. Average food but overpriced for the category of the restaurant and the location/ setting. Good wine selection.
Clearly not good value fir money. Will not go back
Dear Rhea, We appreciate your honest feedback. If there is anything that we can do to improve our food and service, please let us know. Kind regards, Sylvia
I would highly recomend Vim and Victor for the great flavor and great service!
Hi Perry, Thank you so much for dining with us. I'm so glad you had a great experience with us! Please come back and join us again. Kind regards, Sylvia
We had a nice dinner at Vim and Victor earlier this week. We arrived just in time to enjoy a few drinks and a calamari appetizer off the happy hour menu which had a lot of good options. Ethan was our server and Yasmine was the hostess that evening. Both did an exceptional job. The food came out hot and was really yummy.
Hi Amanda, Thank you so much for choosing to dine with us. We're so glad to hear of your wonderful dining experience with us. Please come back and join us again! Kind Regards, Sylvia C.
The food was amazing!
Angie, our server, was wonderful, patient, thoughtful, and knowledgeable about the menu!
Hi Debbie, Thank you for dining with us at Vim & Victor. I'm so happy to hear of Angie's excellent service. We hope to see you again soon! Kind Regards, Sylvia C.
Loved the atmosphere. Food and service was terrific. My only issue was the temperature was very cold - we all had sweaters on but it was still freezing! Otherwise, a fantastic dining experience. We'll be back!
The food was good. The service was extremely so. The place was nearly empty yet slowest service in town. Food encrusted paper menus were very off putting. The food was really good but not worth the price and poor service. Only two desert choices and they ran out of ice cream for the brownie.
Our waiter was nice and when he visited our table was gracious and charming but we had to wait a long time for our glasses of wine, we had to ask for things a couple of times and the slow service just took away from the enjoyment of the dining experience. The food was good..calamari was crispy and spicy. Prices were moderately pricey but not too bad.
Went for Father's Day brunch. Buffet was very good. Restaurant is a little loud, but probably to be expected. Will go again, and recommend to others.
Food was good and the staff was very polite. Unfortunately, it took over 40 minutes from the time we asked for the check until the time we were able to walk out the door.
I want to love Vim & Victor’s but a long wait for food really ruins a dining experience for me, especially when celebrating a special occasion. Background: we are members of The St. James, have done grab and go meals and been pleased. My 7 year old competes on one of their teams and was excited to celebrate her First Communion by dining at V&V.
Our group of five, which included two children, ordered drinks, appetizers, and meals. My drink and appetizers never arrived and the server didn’t check in after she refilled waters. We saw other tables receive appetizers but couldn’t remember who arrived before us and gave them the benefit of the doubt.
Thirty minutes after ordering, still nothing and our kids are wondering where our food is. Our entrees start arriving 10 min later. Our server makes her way over to check on us and i inform her my drink and our appetizers never arrived. She offers to check on it and that they should’ve come out. I politely cancel the drink and apps.
My fried avocado tacos (an appetizer I enjoy so much i ordered it as an entree) came out 5 minutes after everyone else’s food. We ordered the shaved ribeye sandwich with fries, Greek Olympian salad with chicken, fried avocado tacos, kids beef tenderloin with broccoli and fries, and pepperoni pizza. All the food was delicious (my daughter did wish the tenderloin was a bigger portion) but we’re not sure what would have caused a 40 minute wait for it, especially since our appetizers were MIA.
What was disappointing was the lack of an apology for the mistake. We planned to have appetizers, entrees, and dessert and didn’t even bother looking at the dessert menu because we were so upset.
We were polite, didn’t demand or request anything outside of our orders, and our kids were pretty well behaved. I still tipped and didn’t bother complaining when my husband was upcharged for a tequila he didn’t request for his margarita.
Sadly we won’t be back for awhile due to the experience.
Kind of like having dinner at the Holiday Inn bar.
While in the past I’ve fully enjoyed drinks and light fare seated at the bar, a recent dining room experience with guests revealed that Vim and Victor has a long way to go before meeting its goal of serving “deliciously well-crafted meals in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.” Yes, the restaurant is in a sports complex; but given Chef Mendelsohn’s aspirations (and the menu’s prices), one would expect a restaurant staff made up of professionals vice individuals who appear to be there solely for the perk of St. James membership. Although we had reservations and our table was empty, it took a good 5-7 minutes to be seated, another 15 to be acknowledged by a server (and that was only after asking the hostess to send someone over), and at least another 15 for drinks to be served. Slow, inattentive service might have been forgiven if the food and drinks were indeed deliciously balanced and well-crafted, but ours was a mediocre dining experience, with some downright bizarre, spicy flavors added to presumed classic dishes and drinks. Additionally, restrooms need to be tidied up and restocked more frequently and while the kid-friendly aspect is great, children should be discouraged from running/playing around in the restaurant.
Our family of four waited 30 min for food. Appreciated apologies from the server. Two items were forgotten and one special request was ignored. Service wasn’t speedy on my two prior visits either, but they seemed especially overwhelmed by a full restaurant on a Friday night. Food has been consistently good. I wish they had more non-spicy items on the menu.
I decided to celebrate my son's birthday at The St James (family tradition since it recently opened) and booked Vim and Victor as soon as I learned chef Spike was the mastermind. It turned out to be a BIG mistake : beverages were served after we asked twice and took half an hour. My wine even 10 minutes later than that. Of course food came after an hour!!!. Birthday dessert never came. Our server simply did not care. You can tell she hates her job. Manager not even once came to try to make it better. Bill was wrong. I can go on and on. By the way, place was not full. I have written reports in Opentable for over then years (VIP status) and this is the second one were I complain. I am generally very easy. Chef Spike is either unaware of how bad this place is managed or is treating this place as a cash cow machine with no customer service level expectations. It's a big mistake on his part too. He is a great chef and I hope this does not in any way impact his name, but he needs to do something about it. If restaurant is interested they can contact me. I took a pic of the check with my comments and left 5% tip when I should have left nothing.
My friend had the lemonade and corn dog which she said was delicious and I started out with the best carrot cake ever with some espresso. Then we had the nachos with cauliflower, and the crispy calamari. We were there for the divas game and got to watch some of the capitals playoff game right there at the restaurant. I was a little disappointed that the nitro cold brew was not available, but will be back to try it.
The nachos were also amazing but I thought there was a little bit too much spice on the cauliflower, the cheese was unbelievably delicious.
Our first time to try it! Will definitely go back to eat, drink and hang out! Everything’s worth it!
I have to say every time I come to The St James I am impressed. This was my first time at Vim & Victor and I was so impresssed. I had reservations and I was seated timely. The service was stellar (from the greeters, to the wait staff), and the food was everything I though it would be, delectable & well thought. There were options for everyone’s pallet. As an added bonus, Head Chef, Spike Mendelsohn (5th season Top Chef contestant) was there and was walking around shaking everyone’s hand & conversing. That meant a lot. I will definitely be back and will spread the word.
This is an interesting restaurant - it feels a little schizophrenic in that it wants to be a sports bar (large TVs on the wall, a casual eating spot (couches where people can lounge and eat, or just lounge), and an upscale restaurant (high end food and high end prices). We thought the food was delicious, but it was hard to overcome the price point, while we are sitting next to people in athletic sweats and sneakers. I think the grab and go section should be more separated or partitioned off to overcome some of this issue.
The service is very attentive, and lunch options are comparable to downtown. Ambience is lovely, and it’s generally quiet. The restrooms are conveniently located and the service is unobtrusive, so disruptions are minimized. Great place for a business lunch.
Awesome food hoped to watch the Washington Capitals game and asked the waitress. Game was put on a few minutes then changed to basketball with no explanation. No worries the food was awesome.
Food was meh. Service was OUTSTANDING.
This was my 2nd time at this restaurant, and unfortunately it was not a good experience. We arrived a little before our reservation, however after leaving the restaurant, I received an email from Open Table saying we never showed up. In actuality, the hostess acknowledged that we had a reservation, but never marked it in their system.
We ordered fairly quickly since we had been there before and knew what we wanted, however, it took over 30 minutes for the food to arrive and when it did, it was cold. The service was great and I really appreciate our waiter being accommodating by removing some of the items from the bill. However, it was still pretty pricey considering we left the restaurant starving.
The food was excellent. The space is contemporary with concrete floors and lots of bright white. Its also very loud. Our waitress was very attentive but our dinners came out in the wrong order. Sides came out as appetizers and one salad, with the incorrect dressing, had to be requested. Twice. The server blamed the kitchen - but shouldn't she have checked our orders before serving?
Food is great. Service was lacking. Loud with kids and so onmessing about, but it is in a fitness center. Sweaty dudes coming in for smoothies. Get the cauliflower nachos.
Great food. Everyone is helpful and so nice. Was able to meet Spike Mendelsohn which was a real treat!
