    Appalling service. 40 minutes to order food and drinks from the bar. Staff couldn’t work the tills, or keep up with the glasses. The food was dripping wet making the bread soggy. It was meant to be valentines but no one was bothered about it. Overall very disappointing as we have been before it was changed to a sports bar and the food was great. I recommend people to stay away unless you want a boozy afternoon watching sport.

    The male at the bar was brilliant he was chatting to the kids at the other table and adults elsewhere he was great with everyone

    It depends what you are looking for, the venue is well equipped and should perhaps be used to provide a better overall experience. I would personally have a division between groups. So that family groups, hotel guests and sports fans can get what they want out of the experience. I think you need to ask a few more questions when taking bookings to find out what guests are expecting there seemed to be confusion on the evening due to allocated seating. The biggest failing being that I waited for nearly 20 minutes while my food was getting cold to get served at the bar.

    The pub itself was very cold with the aircon on for some reason in Feb however our server was very accommodating in finding out what was safe for me to eat with my allergies and did not make it seem an effort for her. Thank you so much. The food was lovely

    Had the BOGOF voucher, dinner was cold. In retrospect I should have brought this to the kitchen's attention, but I didn't mind having had access to the chef's table, I felt I'd had my moneys worth. Also dinner is served on wooden boards, so I wouldn't have enjoyed it regardless. Family seated next to me, were wrapping up muffins off the chef's table up. Obvious problem of free access. (no chocolate muffins left) Its definitely a sports bar, not somewhere I'd recommend for Sunday Roast. Staff were friendly.

    So disappointing went for a special birthday as previously always been amazing they have changed the concept of Sunday lunch no longer choose what you want & now very restricted, turkey was dry, wanted to charge extra for a extra Yorkshire & so called prawn cocktail was 3 prawns in a spoon of Marie Rose sauce Place wasn’t overly busy but we had to ask someone to clear our starter plates & get our dinner Over heard plenty of complaints about speed of service! One staff member was lovely she was apologetic about the speed of service I used a voucher or it would of been a total rip off!

    Very disappointed with the way the offers were advertised and the fact that terms and conditions only available online. There were 3 adults eating and our bill came to £73 but the children’s meals were not free as we had thought. Also our member discount didn’t apply as we had already had an offer - this discount (which we understood was a member benefit) was one of the main reasons we had booked. The ‘offer’ was a burger bought with a pint for £2. Also, the children ordered a brownie, but were presented with chocolate fudge cake which neither would eat. Although the food and service were acceptable, the fact that we felt totally ripped off when presented with the bill, has left us feeling that we would rather eat anywhere else in future. Also, we had to request an itemised bill which seemed to be a real problem for the staff.

    If you could give no stars that would be my option. Booked a table on Saturday morning for Saturday evening 5pm, all confirmations came back. Arrived for our meal (3 adults 2 children 1 which required a high chair) stood at the entrance to the restaurant for 5 minutes (where the greet point was) but no one came so entered restaurant and headed towards the bar. Saw a lad clearing some tables so asked him about my reservation but was quickly dismissed with him stating “he didn’t normally work there” and he hurried off to find someone else. A “manager” then came out walked past us to collect an iPad from said greeting point then headed back. Asked our name, name given to which he then was looking on the iPad and discussing with us where we could or couldn’t sit... we had made a reservation why is one of the tables that’s noted reserved not for us? After finally deciding where to put us he took us to the table. We sat down and he said he would fetch a high chair. 10 minute later we are still sitting there no high chair no menu no drinks orders taken. Just completely being ignored. The fact that the restaurant was empty and the only people within were at the bar or watching sports on a tv in the corner just added salt to the wound. Therefore being extrmemely fed up with the entire experience and feeling very unwelcome we left and went over the road to the pub/restaurant the corn mill and had a completely opposite experience. Will never Attempt the village again!

    checked in Friday evening saw a promotion with 50% off meals so purchased the voucher online and downloaded.Went to the bar had a couple of drinks then noticed we had to book a table to use the voucher so booked the table online and received an email confirmation for 10.00.Just about to go to our "reserved" table at 9.55 when receive a phone call from the restaurant manager saying the kitchen closes at 10.00 and the gas is turned off then!!!!Literally told if you order the starter Nachos now in the next 30 secs you can have them, but nothing else.Told it was a system fault allowing us to book the table though no closing times were displayed anywhere.Totally unhelpful and no alternatives given,no room service as that also finished at 10 basically like it or lump it.Had a £50 voucher couldn't use,had spent money in the bar on drinks so now couldn't drive anywhere else.Spent over an hour finding a takeaway that would deliver at that time and location that provided a decent meal.Then another 50 mins for delivery so after 12.00 when we finally had something to eat with no help from the Village. SENT NUMEROUS EMAIL AND NOT ONE RESPONSE TO DATE!!!! SYSTEM NEEDS FIXING AND THE STAFF NEED TO LEARN BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS.

    Bit disappointed compared with previous visit with feel of room but this was probably because there was a special Christmas event going on in the conference room and few diners and the young staff serving us seemed unsure what to do about 2 for 1 voucher or about how the chefs table worked. They were very friendly and attentive but didn't seem to have been given adequate training and had to keep going off to find someone else who knew what to do. The food was lovely though.
