The seafood spaghetti was delicious!
Party of 6 everybody loved their dish.
Delicious food, friendly staff. A magical evening.
Very nice as always. But it was a special occasion ( anniversary), and it would have been nice to have had something a little extra like a glass of champagne or dessert on the house. Not sure why the ask if nothing different happens.
Restaurant was closed but no one ever notified us! Terrible service
Service was good. Ambiance was very good. Great menu & food!
Great food and service
Good food but terrible service.
Family visiting from out of town after long Covid related hiatus.
They very unapologetically gave away our openable reservation for the patio even though we had checked in 15 minutes early. Very difficult to gain the attention waitstaff. Some dishes were very good ( pit pie and chicken piccata) but most were quite pedestrian pedestrian.
I have eaten there many times in the past and always enjoy great food and excellent service. Service this time was average at best. Server forgot to bring out an appetizer. My friend asked for spaghetti with his chicken parm instead of the included pasta and the server said she would check. She never came back and told my friend they did not have spaghetti and later served him the dish again without pointing out that spaghetti was not available. If she had told him, he would have ordered something else. When we realized she never brought the appetizer, she never apologized or offered to take it off the bill right away.
Visit Carmel at least once every year for the car show. Never miss coming to Village Corner. Food was yummy as usual!
Out of all my meals in Carmel over the course of a few days, my meal at this restaurant was definitely the worst. Food was uninteresting overall and the shrimp and scallop brochette was overly salty for some reason. Huge disappointment.
Very nice. Sat us right away and service was great and so was the food.
Restaurant was closed
The half chicken was fabulous -loved the gravy. The split pea soup was delicious as was the hamburger cooked to perfection.
The staff was very attentive and we loved the background music.
Really great food!
not sufficient wait staff
Explicit music playing overhead which was disturbing since the restaurant was supposed to be kid friendly. Half chicken entree was burned and had to get sent back.
We had a reservation, and were ignored even after they asked us if f we had a reservation. Another couple came in after us and we’re seated immediately. After 10-15 minutes we were seated in a parklet and completely forgotten. I kept trying to flag a server and they never looked in our vicinity. Another 15-20 minutes went by before we were able to order and be noticed. I would not recommend this restaurant. Food was ok.
This was our first time back in several years prompted by out of town guests looking for comfort food that could be gluten-free. We were delighted with our meals. I think we will start coming again.
It’s ok. Nothing special
Great service and delicious food!
When we arrived for our reservation we were kind of thrown off by the appearance of the bistro. Looked a little like a diner but since we had reservations we decided to give it a shot and our food was delicious! We were seated in a courtyard patio area, did not appear to have indoor dining available. Our server was attentive and funny. It was a good meal. The bathroom could use an update and a good cleaning.
Great place and very attentive service from the chef/owner!
Tried to call to confirm what I believed was a 6:15 Rez but no answer. Arrived at 6:10 to be told they closed at 6:00 pm. What? Yet we had a Rez for 6:00pm (not 6:15 so yes we were 10 minutes late). Really? Rude but I’m sure their food and value were otherwise fine. Sorry but the sour taste left by the hostess probably won’t have me back on our semi annual return trips. I’m sure She doesn’t care.
I can’t decide which was worse, the service or the food.
We made a reservation for 4:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday for my 50th birthday, figuring we’d beat the crowds. First we were ignored at the door, then even though the the place was half empty, the waiter argued with me about not having a reservation. He then proceeded to sit us at the hottest most sun baked table he had.
The food was not only over cooked and dried out, but the portions were equally small.
The only thing that I could possibly find positive about this place was the location, what a waste of good realty.
We made a reservation for 7:00 got a confirmation but when we arrived we were told they were closed even though everything we checked showed they would be open. We were left searching for another place that could take us.
We had an Open Table reservation at 6:00pm on March 11th. We showed up on time and the restaurant was closed!
Food was fine but we felt a bit rushed. We got the main course just minutes after we got the appetizers so had to choose which one to allow to get cold. They had only one dessert and ran away before we had a chance to order coffee
Was wonderful....... the food and the service was great
We made reservations on this app for dinner at 6:15. Everything was confirmed. We arrived and were told they were closing and they only serve breakfast and dinner. Very disappointed. You should update your information on the app so it’s not misleading to customers.
We visited to celebrate my birthday and was thrown back when the server presented the check with her hand written tip and total on my credit card authorization slip. It’s one thing for the server to add a “ suggested” tip percentage on the itemized bill but very wrong ,if not ilegal , for anyone to pre fill my own credit card authorization slip. Very tacky, insulting and very unnecessary. The manager didn’t think it was a big deal. Not only, but they said is their policy to add gratuity to a party of more than 6. We were 3 adults and 4 small children lol . As a restaurant manager myself , I know how wrong that is. Still tipped the server 20% like I always do. Like I said, unnecessary.
Great service, large portions and outdoor seating.
I took my dog on a girls “Harrah” trip after she got diagnosed with terminal cancer. We had dinner at the Village bistro the first night we arrived. My dog came with me and we sat on the patio near the fire pit the ambience was lovely and the food was wonderful! I would highly recommend.
Online menu not the same as the actual menu, tried to sit us next the the clean up cart but moved us when asked
This has become our new favorite spot in Carmel! Great food and service!
We were super disappointed in this restaurant. Screaming kids at the table next to us, forgetful servers (had to ask for water and condiments multiple times)...they were friendly enough but didn’t come by often, and most disappointing was the missing items from the food we ordered to go after we were over the poor service and the rowdy kids (chicken and waffles were missing the gravy, which we found out when we got home...). Would not return- wasted $80 meal plus 20% tip... I’ve always said there’s not a bad restaurant in Carmel- this place changed that for us. Going to stick with our favorites here on out.
Excellent food and service!
The food was underwhelming for the price.
