Great food! Very authentic!
We wouldn’t go back. The food was not fresh- overcooked and not authentic German.
We visited on Christmas eve and not one person working there had a mask on, in spite of the Open Table claim that the staff wears mask. When I asked why they didn't wear masks, I was told it was optional for them. This was especially disconcerting, considering holiday flights were cancelled due to staff covid outbreaks and Patagonia, just across the street, went to door service only due to the latest concerns.
Excellent service and food. Portions were enormous. Very nice hard working staff.
First time trying. Recommended item on the brunch menu was no longer available at 1:30. Service was friendly but slow. Food was unremarkable thus making the value for the meal even less so.
Start with the pretzel. Imported from Germany. The best I have ever had in the US. Excellent German beers!! And I ordered the pork shank. Very tender and delicious!! Our waitress was Ashley. She made sure our service was A+!! Highly recommend this restaurant for authentic German food!!
Food was meh, but good if you are expecting Americanized German food. Service was great, beer was awesome.
Excellent food and service despite being filled wall to wall.
It was rather loud in there and the accordion being played didn't help. We just came from the Scottish parade and wanted to just chill.
Delicious food - very large portions! We plan to head back with the family in the very near future!
We waited about 50 minutes for an appetizer and then waited another 15 minutes for our entrees. They never came. The waitress came over 1 time the entire time we were there. I was hopeful this would be a good place.
Food was delicious! The only negative was the kitchen was a little slow, but it was a very busy night
Service was good, beer was fantastic. Food authentic but nothing to write home about. Decent German fare
Awesome location. Love the food and service. Excellent place.
My dish presentation and taste was lacking. My wife enjoyed her meal. Waitress Ashley was great!
Loved it great beer! .
The restaurant is short staffed. There was one waiter handling the entire second floor, and it was a full house. At one point we had to go downstairs to the bar to get our drinks because our waiter was no where to be found. The bar downstairs was similarly understaffed.
The food was good though.
I understand restaurants are all struggling. But, this was a beautiful Friday night. Management should have anticipated there would be a crowd. With so many restaurants to choose from, a bad experience at one can really taint that restaurants reputation.
Very cool place to hang out. Great service and food. One of my to go places.
Only one waitstaff was challenging. Food was very good.
The place is excellent! Tastefull food and high quality service.
The food is good and the beer is excellent. The staff were helpful and the evening was pleasant.
The food was not good and very overpriced. The main course was brought out with the appetizers. Definitely not authentic German food and the restaurant itself was not very clean
All restaurants are having staff shortages and Brauhaus is no exception, wait service was a bit slow, it was expected. It was extremely loud inside, too loud to have a normal volume conversation, it was loud like at a football game. The food was still great and beers were flowing. We are repeat customers and will continue to be.
Ate there once before and had a good experience (it was empty). This time, not so much. Service was terrible, food was so-so. The 2nd floor is a mess, with boxes and junk all around the stage. Music selection and volume was obnoxious.
Server tried to blame the kitchen for the poor service. I guess it’s the chef’s fault we were never once offered a 2nd round in 90 minutes of dining, that we didn’t have napkins with our pretzel app, or that it took 20 minutes to get the check.
Not coming back.
This place is always excellent!!! Food is so good. Staff is sparse and working so hard - expect longer and be kind. Octoberfest menu is in effect so I couldn't get what I was hoping for - be sure to see the modified menu first, still excellent options.
Octoberfest, place was hopping’. Great service, yummy food and loved the band! Felt like Munchen!
Too loud and the food was subpar.
Awesome live music from the The Austrian Boys.
Great food and great beer. You gotta go.
The Käsespätzle was a cheese sauce with Spätzle and the Flammkuchen was on a premade Naanbread style base. The sound system was fluctuating so the music was too loud then quiet and coming from alternating corners of the room. We left the food partially eaten and paid as quick as possible to leave.
Food was only nominally German. I had the Flammkuchen - not even close. The apple strudel was served cold. The noise level was way too high, almost impossible to hold a conversation with the person right next to you. On a positive note, the servers were very friendly without being overly so, were attentive and did not rush you out the door. The salad was very fresh. The best part of the meals were the French fries - which were crisp, hot, and freshly made. Sadly we will not be returning due to the noise.
Rats in the place
The waitress put my party in a room that was almost empty. The server was rushing us to order, and in general the place overpromises. But the worst was still to come.
In the side of the restaurant we were dinning, we spotted at least 3 rats running very close to our table. Yes, inside the restaurant!
We told the staff and they weren't even alarmed. Total indifference. You give Germany a bad name!
The service was efficient and very friendly. Wait time for our meal was short and it was a very pleasant experience.
Quaint and authentic German place in the heart of Old Town. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food portions were very large and beer selection is plentiful.
Very poor service waited for over 50 minutes for food ,,waiter unavailable
Left very disappointed
Great service and seating was immediately. Beers were cold and not too loud. Love going there with buddies.
Loved the restaurant. Nothing better than German Beer.
While the food is authentic, the service was very slow and by the time the food came out most of it was lukewarm or even cool. The server was very pleasant, but there were long gaps in time. The place was not crowded, only three other tables at the time, and I get that with the pandemic hurting staffing that there are problems with service levels. However, given that there were only three tables, the service should have been faster - not as prolonged. I'll definitely return because the food is good, but I hope they find a way to get it to you hot. Can't say enough about the food though.
The Food was sub par. The käsespatzle did not taste at all authentic. It had way too much pepper. The pretzel was very good and the fries. That was about it for good food. The salad had little to no dressing and was bland. The pork knuckle my husband got was too tough. The Sauerkraut was very tasty But it was covered in gravy, which completely ruined it. The Food was all way over priced as well. We will never return. It was an epic disappointment for German food. :(
We went for brunch on a Sunday. We were seated quickly (with a reservation) but weren't seen for some time. There was a placard at the entrance mentioning a staff shortage, which I know is pandemic related and not their fault. However, I think things could have been streamlined with digital ordering and bill payment using the QR code. Drinks were brought quickly but took a very long time to order and receive our food. I understand the delays but updates would have helped. The food was really good once we received it but they were out of potato pancakes, which was a bit disappointing and unexpected. My biggest complaint with the experience was that EDM was being played very loudly and the noise level made it so you couldn't hear anyone at your table. I found that inappropriate for a brunch, much more appropriate for night life. Overall a good place.
Delicious German food and amazing beer flights. Thank you, ken, for great service and for patiently explaining the beer flights multiple times 😁!
