Villa Ravenna Fine Dining Ratings and Reviews
The table of 16 guests arrived at 6pmas our salad was served. Loud, rude, partying voices echoed loudly in the back room where we sat only 12 feet away. They ruined our evening. The other table of rt 66 runners wore gym clothes to dinner. I️ felt like I️ was at Carrabas.
The food was fabulous but the service was awful. Took friends there for dinner and we order drinks. The other lady and my wife order the same wine and the other guy order a martini and coffee for me. They brought my coffee then the martini and glass of wine for my guest but had to flag the wait staff down twice to get my wife’s glass of wine. After having a great meal with very poor service I went to pay with a gift card worth $100. I also gave them my credit card to pay the balance. They informed me that they couldn’t apply the whole gift card because it’s expected that there would be 20% gratuity and they couldn’t pay the gratuity with the five card. They brought me a bill for $193 which I did not study and it showed $132 charged to my cc and $61 taken out of the gift card. I left a 20% tip and left. When I got home I called on the gift card and found that they didn’t use $61 if the gift card they actually used $76. So I went online and looked at the menu and totaled what we had for dinner which came to $92. We had a total of 5 glasses of wine and a martini. The wine was $10 per glass so that’s $50 and I’m guessing the martini at $15. That would bring our bill to $157. With tax and liquor tax that would add about $16 making our bill $173 not $193. Plus they used $15 more from give card which in actuality my bill was $208. I will never again go to the restaurant
Food was good but my Wife's Linguini was tasteless, and was as if it had been setting for an hour. Requested a replacement to the waiter who brought Fettuccine which was good but then we were charged for this which I felt was very inappropriate. Overall food was only fair and not what I expected for such a high end restaurant and from past experience. I will have second thoughts about visiting the restaurant in the future for a special event.
My wife and I have been to Villa Ravenna at least a dozen times in the last year. It is by far the best Italian food you will find in the region (I've tried a lot!). They have an open kitchen so if there is something that isn't on the menu then they can probably make it for you! They've done that for me twice! Exceptional staff and owners; I highly recommend.
Villa Ravenna is just a wonderful place to eat. Service is always excellent, food very fresh, authentic and delish!!!!! Desserts excellent, cappuccino just great!!! Also great wine list, limoncello martini---delish! Music soft, table conversation doesn't have to fight the music volume!!!! We have never had a bad server, and I want at villa Ravenna several times a year!!!! Thank you for a great place to eat, relax ,and feel pampered!!!!
Portions surprisingly small, esp of my husband's ravioli - 5 or 6 little "pillows." He said he felt like taking his plate to the kitchen, holding it up & asking, "More?"
My pasta vegetali dish was definitely not authentic Italian, & had VERY few veggies - the equivalent of about half a carrot, 5-6 small (1-2") florets & stems of broccoli & a few tiny cauliflower bits. That's like the frozen "California blend," not what one would expect when eating out. When I've had the dish previously, there were big slices of garlic, which were wonderful. No garlic at all this time.
Another local Italian restaurant uses mushrooms, zucchini, eggplant, garlic, peppers, tomatoes - a veritable cornucopia of good "Mediterranean" veggies - which is what it should be!
Be careful what you order! This was our second visit to Villa Ravenna, and it was disappointing because of what we ordered. On our first visit, we ordered from the off-the-menu daily specials and were very pleased with the food. When we returned this week, we ordered veal dishes from the menu. The veal itself was tough and the sauces were substandard: the marsala sauce tasted like it came from a can, and the piccata sauce had a dull taste (not fresh!) and was glutenous in texture. However, the pastas were fine - chewy and flavorful! The wine list is extensive and very good but overpriced; it needs a few lower-price but good-quality selections to represent value. The service was attentive, knowledgable, and prompt. We enjoy the lovely and quiet ambiance of Villa Ravenna and will likely go back and order more carefully.
literally some of the finest Italian food in Tulsa. This is authentic from the word go. Great wine, service, atmosphere. it is difficult for my wife and I to have Italian anywhere else in Tulsa. Put simply, you can tell this is a locally owned and operated family business, and that they have an Italian heritage they stay true to.
We had the Penne Arriabata and Fettucine Bolognese. The two dishes were simply very poor in taste and extremely bland. The red sauce on the penne had a smoky flavor to it, which was highly unusual. The Bolognese was terrible, the noodles almost mushy and the meat Bolognese sauce was tasteless.
Chicken was tough and my piccata sauce tasted really starchy and was thick enough to eat with a fork. They stuck us in their tiny middle room, then spent most of our meal noisily cramming tables together for a large party. Even dragging more tables in from the other mostly empty dining rooms to stuff into this tiny room. Really sick of listening to the screeching sound their furniture makes on the floor.
Always a pleasure to eat here. We have came here for now 4 years for most of all our special occasions. Have tried most everything on the menu and haven't had a bad dish yet. I do prefer the date appetizer over the figs though. The pear and boar sausage appetizers are outstanding as well as the mussels! Honestly you can't go wrong with any dish here. Highly recommend! Beautiful place, the owner is outstanding and 100% Italian. This is TRUE Italian eating and given I am Italian it's the ONLY place I go for my Italian.
What I thought would be a great meal in Tulsa ended up being subpar. The food itself was okay, but wait staff was not very attentive or knowledgeable about good wine pairings.... not what I would expect at all. Additionally dessert was not true to form either, creme brûlée that had soft sugar on top....
