They were closed...
It was an enjoyable evening with friends and good food.
The atmosphere was perfect for a date and the food options were unique and healthy.
I think this was an off night for them. We usually have a great experience, but everything from where we were seated (we were told after we got there that we could only sit in their outside patio...we didnt even know they had an outside patio), to the water (it tasted like salt water--waiter confirmed) so we had to buy 2 bottles of water, to the main dishes! Everything about this night was not our typical experience. Must have just been a bad day.
Monthly brunch with friends. Great food and cocktails. Our server, Cab was amazing.
The cheese plate was incredibly sloppy, the bread was stale, our drinks were sugary and not well made. Finally the pasta was okay but for $26 it was absolutely terrible. Had not been there in several years, and will not be going back.
The worst service ever......salads and dinner all brought at once....had to get up 3 times to get someones attention for assistance. ..this has been one of our go to places for Italian, but the service so bad I am not sure we can....on a good note the bartender was excellent....we had a drink before our friends arrived...the place was empty....we felt like we were an imposition to the wait staff....
We had a very average dinner. The portions were small and the sides didn’t match the menu.
We had a reservation for a party of 5 at 11:15am. I arrived 1st with 2 others (including my 81 year old mother in law) about 10 minutes before our reservation, and even though the restaurant had just opened and was basically empty they would not seat us until our entire party was there. Arguing with the hostess was futile as she was clearly not trained to think. It wasn't like they would be giving our table away with the place empty! We endured the 10 minute wait, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. No mensa candidates there! Food was good as it has been on previous occasions. Too bad training and circumstances are not taught to staff.
Even though restaurant was half full, the service was absolutely terrible. By the end of the night, the place was nearly empty. Is there anything worse than waiting to get your check for 15 minutes in an empty restaurant? Where was the waiter? I finally had to stand up and flag down a different waiter. Terrible service, the manager of this place must be running a country club.
The food is ok but he main reason that I always kept coming back was for the bottomless mimosas and there was a great waiter named Stephen (or Steven). Went yesterday only to find that neither the bottomless mimosas or the waiter I wanted are there anymore. More than likely will not be going back.
Dinner was great all around and the manager was gracious enough to let me drop off gifts for my group prior to our reservation. The service was a little slow considering they weren’t very crowded but overall a good experience!
Thursday night and we were only 1 of 3 tables. Servers were pleasant, but absent most of the night.
Great service at the Bar. Empty restaurant, so expecting a comfortable meal. Unfortunately, the chef decided to over-rule our server - we'd asked him to allow the salads and starters to be finished and cleared before bringing mains, Two of our party weren't having mains, so our server had asked about the order to deliver food. The server then brought all the food together and told us the chef had said he had to!! Incredibly we had to inform the server and chef that we were in charge of what order we wanted our food.
Had an amazing time for brunch with my daughter. Cab (sp), our waitress was a gem.
This was not my first time dining for brunch here, normally the service is inviting and attentive. The minute I walked in the hostess had horrible customer service as well as the server. The younger crowd there for a football game watch had more attention then a group of women celebrating an upcoming wedding. Placed us at a high top table next to open doors while it being 90 degrees outside. If felt as if we were pushed to the side to allow the “younger” crowd their own take over of the restaurant. I was not pleased with being treated this way neither was anyone else in my party. I was sad to have received such poor service after raving so highly about your establishment to my wedding party. Mind you, our reservation was made a month prior due to excitement which was crushed the moment we entered.
had brunch, love the sfuzzi. wasn’t a fan of the bloody mary. burger and potatoes were pretty good.
Love the pizza and sfuzzi’s! This is my favorite brunch spot in Dallas.
We've been to Villa O numerous times and it is usually very good, however, I think the restaurant may be under new ownership. The food was different. The mushroom fries were heavily battered and the chicken parmesan was dry and barely had any sauce accompaniment. The food arrived at the table warm but not hot out of the oven. Our drinks were so bad that we sent them back after being unable to drink them and the waiter still charged us for them! In addition, the service was poor. We were there for an hour and half but ordered as soon as we sat down. The waiter was very inattentive and had more tables than he could handle. Not a place for a romantic date. It's turned in to a spot to socialize and have drinks before going out for the evening. The problem is the bartender drinks are awful so stick with wine.
Took my daughter on her birthday for an early Thursday eve dinner. We ended up sitting outside because it was too cold inside with the a/c on. Service was almost non-existent. They also had patrons that were smoking on their sidewalk "couches". The penne pasta that my daughter ordered had an awful taste like it was stale. I asked for angel hair and the server brought me spaghetti instead. He told me it was because he didn't know how to make modifications on the order. The management should be blamed for not training him better. I had to literally go find our server at another point during the meal so that we could order, and then later I asked my daughter to go find him so that we could get our check and pay. Villa O was a huge disappointment.
Always delicious food and drinks. One of my favorites
Cannot beat the all you can drink mimosas at brunch. They seriously rock...
But sadly, the food wasn't great this time. My friend and I both ordered eggs Benedict (she the crab cake and I, the Italian) and they were coolish and genuinely unappetizing. The ham even looked weird, like it had been frozen or something. Neither of us made a big deal of it - We were happy enough with the awesome drinks but the food bummed me out, since I had recommended this place based upon a previous experience (food had been awesome). Maybe an off day, but I was pretty put off and probably won't come back.
As always, Villa O never disappoints. Creative dishes, polished service and a great location in Travis/Knox area adjacent to Highland Park.
Quiet, good food, reasonably priced . The outdoor space is very pleasant
Thank you for accommodating a bigger than expected party. Great service.
Great time with friends for a birthday celebration. Only problem was the wait staff was minimal and it took a lot of time to get anything served to us. Still a great time, the staff was very courteous, and the food was great!
Great food, great waitress, but the service was a bit slow. Took 15 minutes before she came to take our order. Will definitely go back!
Villa O has a great atmosphere and great food! I took my parents there while they were in town and it was perfect!
The food was great! However, I was bummed they missed my special instructions that it was a birthday celebration. They should have remembered and at least wished a happy bday, or brought a free dessert like most restaurants do.
Liked the mimosas the best. Food was really good too. Definitely great spot for brunch. Would go again for sure.
Food was excellent and service was great. The inside is loud, but we sat in the covered patio with a/c and were fine to have a conversation without yelling. The kiddos food choices were good and tasted really good. Highly recommend!
My son and I love to go to Villa O for Sunday brunch. We are always treated like we're special and it sure makes for an awesome dining experience and the food is awesome!
Too. Loud.
The noise was unbearable for me and my parents to enjoy lunch. Service was acceptable after being seated 10 minutes after our reservation time and getting up to get our own menus after another 5 minutes... used to be an amazing place for brunch but very disappointed today.
The restaurant was pretty much empty saturday night which was our first red flag. Service was slow and we were confused as to who was actually waiting on us. The menu looked good but our dishes were just mediocre at best.
It was empty in there on a Saturday night and I don't know why. Great food.
Villa O was very quiet when I went, which is surprising because it was wonderful. The food was fantastic (and I'm picky) and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was chic, and the employees couldn't have been nicer!
Our server Tony was great! He knew the menu well, he was attentive, and really kind!
Food cold and horrible service
Mostly good some bad things. Waiter was great; pleasant and attentive. Bottomless mimosas perfect blend of OJ to champagne and they were diligent about frequent refills. Food good and worth price, just not amazing. The only bad thing is the hostess/reservations. I made reservations and specifically requested outside seating when I called but none was available when we arrived - and the hostess didn't have that request next to my reservation. And she was very dismissive, almost rude. Another group was there at the same time and they were also displeased about what appeared to be something similar - they asked to speak to the manager about it. If they made accommodating their reservations more of a priority, I think that their reviews would reflect that.
Our server Tony was one of the best servers I have ever had!! He was so attentive and accommodated our requests in a quick, efficient manner. Super friendly guy, deserves a raise or promotion for sure! We let the manager Mercedes know how much we appreciated Tony's service. He made our first experience at Villa-O a great one and we will definitely return!!!! Food was great and bottomless mimosas were a great deal
