Vigilucci's Trattoria Italiana Ratings and Reviews
Another fabulous meal at Vigiluccis! Caesar salad followed by local halibut topped with crab with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Buono!
Service as always spectacular-Matteo was great. Made to feel special by Giacomo and Andrea. Can't wait to go back. Worth it every time. I live in Phoenix and try to go whenever I can.
Our Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful; my husband had the traditional dinner while I had the salmon. It was a perfect night for dining outdoors and we enjoyed every moment. Everyone who worked there was very gracious The food and the entire experience was perfect!
Our party of 4 went there for Thanksgiving dinner. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. It went downhill from there. They weren't crowded at all while we were there, but the service was Terrible... the worst I've experienced in the San Diego area. I cannot say enough about the extremely low service or actually lack of service... almost 3 hours from start to finish. We couldn't wait to get out of there. And the food was marginal to poor and overpriced. Never again. Don't waste your time or money at Vigilucci's in Encinitas/Leucadia.
Food was just ok this time around, the pizza lacked everything from cheese to being cooked fully. The pasta we had to send back due to it being undercooked and still hard.. On the flip side the calamari and bread was good. Ive been here before and not sure if they got a new chief or what, but it was def. much better before..
Service was outstanding. Live piano/vocal enjoyable and not intrusive. C RABUSA cake appetizer was very good. Partner and I had two different pasta dinners:
Carbonara was very good; paparadelle with scallops outstanding. Portions were very generous. And the cappacino, one of the best for a long time. Will definitely go back.
The first surprise is valet parking. But that is only $5. The place is well appointed and plenty of wait staff, but they doing a job and generally not radiant people. While the food is special and the decor well done, customers come in a range of attire, from being dressed to the 9s, to jeans and a tee shirt. A simple meal without drinks will come to $25pp plus tip.
In a word: FABULOUS! We had a late evening reservation and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. I was very relieved it was this great since I was tasked with finding a place for us all to dine! Calamari - great. Eggplant parm - great. My husband had a chicken dish served over sausage and peppers and actually finished it. Rib-eye - great. Pretty cool looking place too - many levels and rooms and outdoor dining as well. I'd like to go back!
Disappointed in the IPA selection, we live in the beer capital with over 200 breweries.
San Diegians are tired of Sculpin and Stone.
If you don't want to change out kegs look into carrying bottles. Just some advice, when my wife says let's go out I sometimes suggest other places that have better selections in beer.
Hadn't been to this Vigilucci's for a few years, so it was pleasant indeed to discover that it lived up to the good memories of the last visit. And all of our menu choices were delightfully prepared, from the artichoke hearts to the crab cakes all the way to the little lava cake.
First time at this restaurant. It was an awesome event starting with the beautiful hostess an the the waiter was fabulous . I ordered something that was not on the menu and they delivered. I'll go back there again and it's a 35 mile drive to get here from our house. Go have dinner at this place, you won't be disappointed!
We are from the East Coast and Vigulucci's is a must go to when we make our annual visit to Encinitas. This year, sadly, we were so busy we were only to eat there twice. We usually come for happy hour and eat from the bar menu that is fabulous, but this year decided to come for dinner. What a great decision. Our waiter was wonderful and the veal saltimbocca that we both ordered was cooked to perfection. It was a great night and we look forward to our visit next year.
Fantastic meal. I had spinach and cheese raviolis with vodka sauce that were amazing. I loved the fresh basil on top. My daughter had Penne pasta with rock shrimp and vodka sauce just as yummy. We spent two weeks in Italy this summer and Vigiluccis rivaled anything we ate in Italy. The restaurant is beautiful inside many options for seating inside and out.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
We enjoyed the food and the service was good (except we were never told the evening specials). I realize the restaurant is close to the beach but they should consider implementing a dress code for dinner. Some of the patrons were basically "slobs" and shouldn't have been allowed in McDonalds! I don't consider sleeveless T-shirts, bathing suits and flip flops appropriate attire for a nice restaurant like Vigilucci's. It detracted from a special evening out. The Carlsbad locations are much nicer...when I was there.
Friendly service but not very attentive . Brought our appetizer, fried calamari, quickly, but no appetizer plate, so we used our dinner roll/ bread plate. After appetizer was cleared, bread/appetizer plate was taken, naturally, but never replaced. After finishing eating our large and very good main courses, our very friendly server asked if we were finished, could he clear, we replied yes. He then proceeded to bring us our bill- no inquiry if we wanted dessert, coffee, etc. Good food that deserves better treatment by this restaurants servers. Hope it was an off night.
