I love love love this restaurant!
Excellent food and service!!
We make sure to include a lunch at Vigilucci’s during our annual trips to Carlsbad, having had such good meals there for successive years in the past. What surprises us each time we dine there is that our meals always seem even more tasty than we remember from the prior visit. The pastas are reliably al dente, and the sauces are so rich that we usually bring a portion of our dishes back to the rental condo to enjoy later. Our routine is to schedule our lunch for early Wednesday afternoon so that we can later shop the farmers market that begins at 3:00 p.m. in front of the restaurant. That makes for a wholly pleasurable day.
This is an outstanding restaurant. Great service and even better food. Vigilucci's Cucina is one of the best restaurants I have been to in years and I highly recommend it for any occaision.
Great place, excellent food, and outstanding service. Been here several times and this was at least as good as every other time. Fast professional service, got the right food, drink, bread, and drinks in a timely manner all presented like a high end restaurant. Food was tasty and cooked just right. Atmosphere was fun but not overly noisy, and we ate at dinner tables in the bar area. It is quieter on the other side of the restaurant.
Picked this for an anniversary dinner over all the other places in the area and we definitely made the right choice.
Fabulous meal. 8 of us and everyone was completely satisfied. Contagiously fun atmosphere and happy staff made for a great combo with excellent food and wine!
Vigilucci's never fails - service is excellent - food is spot on - and custom requests are always acted upon with enthusiasm ! This is truly a Carlsbad Gem !!
The dinner and service was excellent. Our server was from Milan and made the evening extra special. Having been to Italy... we were so pleased with the authentic Italian experience. Outstanding... we will be back!
Seated promptly at reservation time on a Saturday night. Server did not write down our cocktail orders but expertly served per requests. Food was as good as I have ever had in New York or San Francisco. I have recommended restaurant to a few friends who live in the area.
Great overall experience.
Wonderful dinner! This is my favorite Italian place in Carlsbad. Everyone is so welcoming and the food is deliciously authentic! Must come and try it!
Excellent meal. Very much enhanced by a wonderful service!
My wife and I love this place. She thinks their veal parmesan is the best she has ever had. I was lucky enough to get there on a night where they had their spicy sausage ravioli. Absolutely tremendous. We travel to Carlsbad regularly and this is one of our favorite places.
Great food and Fantastic service! They also brought me an happy birthday card at my table! I’ll definitely be back soon
The Osso Buco over saffron risotto was one of the best I’ve had!
First visit, had lunch and a great experience, these folks care about everything they do. Not cheap but well worth the money. I can't wait to go there for dinner and try more of their delicious cuisine.
Never disappoints. Great dinner and fabulous service.
I love this place so much! It’s so fun to be here during the farmers market! I enjoyed a great happy hour in the patio, and a great dinner just right after! Great job!
The most amazing pasta dinner my family has ever had and great service to boot.
We enjoyed Vigilucci's Cucina Italiana and the service was excellent.
Tends to be a bit pretentious. They always skimp on the meat in the pasta.
Perfectly prepared pasta and vegetables. Every entre was excellent. The tiramisi and capucino’s were the best we’ve had. We’ll be back.
They sat us in the bar area - not a fun place to have romantic dinner. The hostess should have asked if we wanted to eat inside or outside. My husband's chair was wobbly. The lobster dinner was ok. I had to request fresh grated cheese for my pasta dish and the coffee was burnt. Next time I'm requesting outdoor dining or the other side of the restaurant.
First time at the restaurant, get together with friend, moderate price, good selection for dinner, would go again. Only complaint table was a bit tight for the seven of us.
I made reservations for my wife and I for Valentine's Day 2018. This was our first visit to this Vigilucci's. The staff and the restaurant was inviting and created a great feel. I was surprised to see the prices, although I certainly could have check beforehand, so I don't hold that against them. I was quite surprised and upset that they would not accept my gift card because it was a Holiday. A coupon I could somewhat understand, but a gift card, in my mind, is no different than cash. The gift card was purchased and paid for, so I don't see how it could be controlled as to when it can be redeemed.
Amazing 😊 Absolutely perfect Valentine's Day date idea!
Vigillucci's used to be one of our favorite restaurants and a go-to spot for special occasions. Still good, but not "great" anymore. What was once a traditional Italian family run business now feels more "commercial". We all know change is sometimes necessary and often inevitable to survive in an increasingly competitive market. In my humble opinion, in this case it takes away from some of Vigillucci's appeal.
Vigilucci's on State St. is one of my husbands and mine favorite places to go. The atmosphere is quaint and relaxing. The service is always top notch. The food is absolutely delicious. So many choices, with a nice variety and something new every time. We particularly love the specials. If you don't have time for a sit down meal, they have a wonderful happy hour and it's fun to sit at their bar. We feel special every time we visit this gem of a restaurant in Carlsbad!
Great service-excellent food!
Excellent and rich food. Shouldn't have ordered the dessert....too full from meal. Lol.
Gracious and knowledgeable server by the name of Adreanna. Nice evening. Thank you.
Wonderful atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. The food is to die for, the espresso martini is the perfect dessert cocktail. Experience the greatness for yourself!
Excellent wine recommended, food was wonderful and service was great
FANTASTIC- SERVICE AND FOOD WERE OUT OF THS WORLD!
My favorite Italian restaurant in San Diego. Simone, the manager, is from Modena, and is very gracious. The food is very authentic, the dining room is very pleasant, and the service is excellent (I like the Italian waiters very much). Whenever I have visitors and want to show them the best of Italian in San Diego, this is where I take them.
I went for my birthday! After I finished my fantastic meal, I received a birthday card from the staff, and everyone was singing “happy birthday “
What a great night! Be back soon!!
Expensive restaurant - waiter was ok not great and the food was ok not great for the price
Food lacked flavor but service was great!
Just the best place in town!
I love Vigilucci's on State Street in Carlsbad and have always had great food, great service and an all around great dinner experience whether we're inside or outside, having something light or having a long leisure dinner, they always do a great job! Patty M., Carlsbad
I found this restaurant to be average except for the price which I felt was expensive for what you received. We went to its sister restaurant and found the same items on both menus but the prices were more expensive. Overly priced for average food.
Ordered antipasto, charged $16/ pp, minimum 2 ppl. $32 for tasteless calamari, no salad... some mediocre meat and 4 cubes of cheese, 2 slices of bread with chopped tomatoes and 2 slices of tomato with mozzarella. REALLY? No view, music, ambiance and NO NYC address?! Please!
