Vigilucci's Cucina Italiana

The waiter highly recommended the Oso Bucco so I went with it. It was mediocre at best! The meat was flavorless and overcooked. My girlfriend had the halibut special which was really good.

We had a fantastic experience when we were here to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The service was amazing and our waiter even gave him a birthday card. Lovely touch. It was busy but even with so many people we didn’t find it excessively loud. The wait staff team was well in tune with everything going on, it was quite impressive. The food was excellent and the portions were generous. (I had the Cioppino...it was easily enough for two very hungry people). Only criticism would be for the two hostesses that greeted us. Both were eating and had their mouths full when we walked in. Not a great first impression from either of these two ladies who honestly looked like they would rather be somewhere else. Despite that, highly recommend a visit.

Had a wonderful time again at a Vigilucci’s restaurant. We got the exact table I asked for and was very pleased with the food, red wine and service. Always a good exit.

Your Go-To Italian Dinner Restaurant in Downtown Carlsbad. Great food, drinks, wine and ambience combined with waiters who speak Italian - what more could you ask for?

First time diner. Party of 8 with OOT family. Everything was delicious. Very pleased and my wife and I will definitely return soon.

Our waiter should have told us the prices of the specials, the 16 oz. rib steak (bone in) was delicious but not worth the price tag of $70.00.

Food has defiantly improved. This has always been our favorite place.

All around - food was amazing. Very busy for the holiday, as to be expected. Hostess was not pleasant. She brought us to a table for 6 when we were a party of seven. And then proceeded to tell me that that’s all she had available because they were extremely busy for thanksgiving. I reminded her my reservation (that was made a couple weeks prior) was for 7. Very rude. But we managed to make the table work.
Our waiter was amazing. Very attentive and accommodating.
Seafood pasta and chicken parmigiana was delicious!

Overall we enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey was better than expected. The chocolate dessert was excellent. The portions were appropriately large for the price.
We were less satisfied with the alcoholic beverages. I ordered a Cadillac margarita with no salt. It came with salt. We informed the waiter who took the drink back and immediately returned -- meaning he just took the orignal drink and either wiped the rim and/or poured the drink in a different glass. At any rate, there was still a slight taste of salt, but I drank the drink. I did comment to my wife that I wasn't sure if there was any Grand Marnier in the drink but I didn't feel like sending it back again. Therefore, I was not pleased when I got the bill and the charge was $15 for the basic drink and $7 for the Grand Marnier float. I have gotten the Cadillac margarita at the Vigilucci's Steak and Seafood and it was much better and considerable less expensive.
We also were surprised to discover that my wife's glass of wine was twice what she expected. It turned out shat she did not realize she was looking at a page of special wines that included three prices -- for a taste, for half a glass, or for a full glass. She got the price of the half glass mixed up with the price of a full glass. We acknowledge this was her mistake, but, if you will pardon the pun, it still did not leave a good taste in our mouths. My wife felt the wine was nothing special for the additional cost.
A day or two later, we received a notice from OpenTable asking why we hadn't shown up at Vigilucci's for our reservation -- which of course we had and we had the high bill to prove it.
We will undoubtedly return to this restaurant for the food. We'll just have our drinks at home first.

Thanksgiving Day 1:15 arrival. Wasn't crowded when we arrived. Service was slow. I wasn't crazy about the stuffed with squash pasta hats, but my lobster soup was really good. Some lobster chunks would have knocked it out of the park. I had dessert, cannelloni, at home, hours later, and enjoyed it. Something I rarely have, so I can't compare.

We like Vigilucci's Cucina, and are eating three more often.

We had a reservation for 3 for Thanksgiving dinner and could not have picked a better place to spend this Thanksgiving dinner away from home. The turkey and dressing was the best I’ve ever had (sorry mom.)

We have been coming to Vigilucci’s for many years but this time especially was fantastic. I ordered the Cesar salad and the Lasagna, both were delicious. We were there for my sons 24th birthday and I really appreciated the waiter coming over and wishing him a happy birthday with creme brûlée. I didn’t even mention but in a small note in the open table reservation. I’m very happy we chose Vigilucci’s for our celebration.

We have been here a few times. The food was just ok the last time. My husband had the chicken pharm and he said it wasn't that good. I had the steak salad and there wasn't any dressing on it. I'll try again.

I have been here several times and the food has always been outstanding. On this occasion however the dish I ordered, which was my usual, was not very good. The chicken was not up to par and I was disappointed. The waiter was also just "ok", not great. I am hoping it was just a bad night as this is one of my favorite go-to places in the village. Great outside seating.

Our waiter, Lorenzo, was outstanding! The specials were delicious. Two of the people in our group had the Chilean sea bass. It was to die for! We really enjoyed our experience here. I’d definitely come back if I was in this area.

We always go to Vigilucci's for Happy Hour and we love the service & the food! We went on Oct 22nd for my husband's birthday & had dinner which was excellent. We will always go back.

Lovely outdoor bistro and cafe in the heart of Carlsbad Village. Great people watching during Wednesday Farmers Market. Service is attentive but not rushed. The bucatini all'amatriciana on the lunch menu is outstanding!

Fabulous birthday dinner! We brought a special cab signed by our good friend (winery owner who is now deceased) and our waiter waived the corkage fee as a birthday gift.

I would have liked my romaine cut up rather than several leaves that I had to keep from falling off the plate as I was slicing them. The guitarist was great. Love the patio dining.

We out outside and it was great! The food was so fresh and delicious! The bread is homemade and hot with olive oil! We were so full we didn't have dessert! Next time we'll have cannolis! Can't wait!! We enjoyed our evening. Fabulous!

My favorite restaurant in Carlsbad.

Lovely space, warm yet professional service, impressive wine list, delicious food, a win all around. The prices were a tad high, but everything was so good I didn't mind. We had a bowl of their squash soup (good, not fabulous), a dinner salad (excellent and huge), the ravioli bolognese (delicious, but could have used a touch of cream), and a different kind of ravioli filled with meat and a mushroom cream sauce. I forget the actual name but it was both wonderful and ridiculously large. We were too full for dessert but the list looked impressive!

As locals, we love this special restaurant in downtown Carlsbad...so nice not to have to travel miles for such a wonderful dining experience! Thanks for a great birthday!

We came here for restaurant week with a group of four. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the portions were large. We enjoyed our meal very much.
