Highly recommend this restaurant to hotel guests. Outstanding water views and a lovely, relaxing meal. The cedar planked salmon was delicious!
Thankfully, the hollandaise sauce on the eggs benedict was freshly made and not a powdered mix.
The service was very good. Our server was attentive and helpful. The food was tasty and portions were generous but not overly so. The view of the river adds to the dining experience.
Lovely view and convenient to our stay, but average hotel food and service.
We were staying in The hotel so decided to eat at their restaurant. The room had a lovely view across the water . The tables were well spaced. It was a little noisy due to a moderately sized group at a table nearby who were obviously having fun.
Our server was attentive and pleasant but some of the service was a little slow. We know all restaurants are having a problem getting enough staff since Covid began and we were in no hurry so it did not bother us. Y husband enjoyed the choice of whiskey available.
it would have been nice to have a dinner menu with more comfort food on it too many dishes that were for a more formal setting. The salmon was very good as well as the chicken dish. The waitress was very friendly and well informed on the menu; over all it was a nice place for a quiet dinner.
Server was excellent
Not many options on the menu for picky eaters I don't like seafood so ordered only pasta dish with braised beef ...a bit spicy for my liking but was good, drinks were amazing my husband said best rye Manhattan he has ever had should add it to their menu drink list for sure ...was really cold in restaurant but the super nice server turned it down and made an immediate difference was very nice of her to do that ...service was excellent and quick. Same with when we moved over to fluid patio the server was fun and seemed to be able to read my mind very excellent servers and staff at both places.
This restaurant had very good reviews and we broke our rule of eating in a hotel chain restaurant. The restaurant was pretty and we had a great table with a view. The host and waitress were welcoming and fast. We ordered an appetizer and it took almost one hour for it to come out- Korean chicken bites- 4 of them - terrible and small. No bread is served. I asked and the waitress said not tonight. She was apologizing to every table around us... our meal came after maybe 90 minutes- over cooked 45 CAD steak- we did send it back to get cooked properly. It came out quickly and was cooked properly on the second go... something on this bill should have been taken care of- wine, a dessert. We understand covid but waiting almost 2 hours for dinner is insane. Stay away as it's expensive and they also might want to dust the blinds in the picture windows in the dining room- loaded with dust.
Good food great service and a nice view. The air conditioning was to cold.
All the "on tap" beer were craft beers.
Having at least one "main stream commercial light beer" would be great.
Bud,coors, for example.
Otherwise it was all great.
Awesome service, would definitely come back, thank you
Always great food and outstanding customer service at The View. One of my favourite restaurants when in Sault Ste Marie.
My wife had the chicken and I had the salmon. Once again an incredible meal and in our opinion best food in town. There is a reason we had our wedding here and continue to come here. Best value best service and best food. This place has it all.
We had a thanksgiving diner..it was delicious!! I recommend their Caesars ( yummm). The service was great and our server was very friendly and we did not have to wait long for our meals..
We both had very good meals and would not hesitate to ready here again, when we're in the Sault.
The meal was very good for myself and my wife . The service was excellent and the view from the restaurant was great . This is very minor but we both wanted the battered fish for supper but was not available except for lunch . I found this a little surprising because fish should be on the supper menu as well . This is a healthy meal and does not take much preparing to cook fish . But , in all , everything was very good !
Marla was a friendly and efficient waitress .. it was a pleasure having Marla service our table. The tuna tacos, fish-n-chips, chicken sandwich and chipotle burger were all delicious ...The View never fails with it's diverse menu. Another nice meal with a great view of the river.
Food was ok, view was good. Ambience ok and service excellent. I thought overrated
Our server was delightful. Dinner was tasty, although the beef ravioli was only warm-cool- it must have been sitting awhile before served to us. The quiness chocolate cake was stale and we could hardly put our fork into it. The server quickly removed it from our bill when we told her.
Strong attention to keeping customers safe in a world of Covid. Great
service! Enjoyed the visual of my dish and definitely the taste!
Will certainly return.
Service was very slow ....even for drinks at the beginning. Food was OK, but not really worth the price. Beautiful setting
We ate here 3 nights in a row tonight just wasn’t as good some things on our order we forgotten and then brought late when we were almost finished a few other issue with the quality also
Excellent, largely locally sourced menu. Lovely view, fantastic server and the meal matched it's description and was delicious. Lots pf choices for all preferences and diet types.
Outstanding view, outstanding food, outstanding service. Highly recommended!
Food and service were excellent! I would definitely eat here again.
We went there to celebrate a birthday. All things considered in these times the table was great. The service was kind and timely. The drinks were ample and very good. The food was very good, as was the presentation. The ice cream cake was all they said it would be. I would recommend this place to others with no hesitation.
We had a great table with a beautiful view of the river. Our server Julia was excellent and the food - amazing - I had the tuna and it was delicious!
We visited this restaurant last year and had a very positive experience. The name of the place is correct; the restaurant has great views and is a very nice place. However, we had some issues this time, which was probably bad luck. Our waitress told us up front that her favorite appetizer is the"duck bomb". My wife and I do not like this; we sometimes feel that such recommendation may just be a method to sell something that the restaurant wants to get rid of. Anyway, because we like smoked duck breast (the ingredient of the "duck bomb"), we ordered it. It was a prosciutto wrapped medley of cheese and a bit of duck breast that I had a hard time to taste because the prosciutto overwhelmed everything. Anyway we like prosciutto; it was OK. The special was white fish. I repeatedly asked how it is prepared and served but to my surprise it arrived with a lot of beet (so did my wife's chicken). I do not eat beet. Anyway, I pushed it aside, but both the white fish and the chicken, my wife ordered, were overdone, dry. Our waitress was a very nice person, who paid a lot of attention to our neighboring table with four people, and forgot about minor things like cutlery. At the end of the dinner my wife realized that her chair had a bunch of french fries squeezed in the back of her chair; this was obviously from a previous guest because we had no french fries. Her pants did not get greasy, fortunately. With a bit of more attention to details (including from the chef), this restaurant could be a 5 star venue.
Fabulous food. Duck bombs are to die for. Lobster ravioli was scrumptious. Steak was perfectly done.
The table was in a terribly place in the restaurant-right in the middle in an awkward place that made you feel like you were on display-and so small there was barely room for the glassware. The lighting was far too bright as well. Not a comfortable or enjoyable experience overall. While I understand they try to squeeze in extra seating on a night like New Years, they should inform the client that ‘this is is the case when they continue to accept reservations. Having dined here before, we didn’t expect the seating would be different. The service was great overall though.
Our server Johanna was very attentive and excellent. The meal was delicious and beautifully presented. I highly recommend the papillote whitefish.... different and tasty.
We loved it. A new Chef who came out to see how we liked our dinner. When I reserved my table with you I requested it by the window and we got that! Service delightful and friendly. Food was excellent!
Brunch was spectacular with a wide variety of great tasting food. Our occasion was a96th birthday with 5 generations present. As company was from out of town could not have asked for anything more. Great price with exceptional buffet from traditional breakfast fare, personalized omelets to several vegetarian options and perfect roast beef with trimmings and salads. Deserts were various and outstanding. Service was prompt and very friendly. Highly recommended.
I don't go out to eat very often but when I do I go to the View. Being Vegan, choices of fine dining restaurants in the Sault are very limited. The staff makes you feel like you are the only customers there. But it's the food that is the star. Looking forward to my next visit.
Unfortunately when we arrived the hostess told us right away that our table was reserved for 12pm, even though I had made the reservation online, days before. So we basically had to rush through breakfast and didn't have the option of the Buffet Brunch. We would have spent more money on the brunch than ordering off the menu, so its too bad The View lost out on that. We felt very rushed, and once we left, the restaurant was empty so not sure what the hurry was?! Still on the fence as to whether or not I would return.
View was lovely, table and seats were very comfortable, waitress was very attentive and honest about food selection, portion size, tastes which was appreciated. We did not mind the price as we were definitely getting great quality. Will definitely be back...
Very good view, food and excellent service.
Staying at the hotel on a guys motorcycle trip and the restaurant was conveniently located on lower level. The staff and service was friendly, fast and excellent. The view of the river from the table was a plus. The food was presented well, cooked and seasoned perfectly. One of the members of our group said he would come back to the hotel just to eat the same dish her ordered in the restaurant. An excellent choice if in the area.
Imaginative menu, excellent wine list, prompt but not hurried service. Amazing view while you dine. Staff all very courteous and professional. We will definitely visit again.
