The first restaurant in Western Springs to serve liquor since prohibition, Vie offers guests the opportunity to experience urban fine dining in a warm, relaxed village setting. Conveniently located steps from the Metra station, Vie attracts food-conscious diners from the entire Chicagoland area. Guests will find sanctuary in the intimate, gracious dining room housed in a two-story red brick building in the center of Norman Rockwell’s Americana. Chef Virant’s cuisine reflects the seasons, local harvests and the world becoming a smaller place. While the menu celebrates artisanal foods and local family farms, it also takes advantage of the increased availability of specialty foods from across the globe. Vie features Seasonal Contemporary American cuisine inspired by Western European cultures and rustic fare. Virant elevates familiar dishes by relying on the simplicity of a few, high-quality ingredients.

Vie Ratings and Reviews
Our foursome celebrated both a wedding anniversary as well as a birthday at Vie over the weekend and the experience surpassed all expectations! Paul Virant and his team continue to impress every time I dine there and it is a great place to dine and hang out with good folks. The food was amazing as always and the service was top notch from Michael our waiter down to the service help - something that is lost at most establishments anymore. Highly recommend Vie for both its ambiance, quality of ingredients/ flavors, service and quite frankly a very good Value given the experience you receive there. Bravo!!
We celebrated our anniversary at this local favorite! They always do a fantastic job of making us feel special! They printed "Happy Anniversary" on the menu and started us off with a complimentary glass of Prosecco! Fantastic.
The food was outstanding, both in taste and presentation. The staff is attentive and takes the time to answer every question, and explain what you are eating as they deliver the food.
We highly recommend Vie!
The meal was overly spicy. Those spices overpowered all other tastes. The waitress and staff were kind and the chef recooked the meal without the spice only to deliver an undercooked, tasteless plate. I left without eating but paid the price. Good people nice atmosphere but poor food. I would not recommend it to anyone.
I am new to the area and went to Vie on a colleague's recommendation. My friend did not steer me wrong. Vie has jumped up to the top of my list for favorite restaurant in the western burbs. Not a bad comment to be made. Overall, a fantastic culinary experience throughout.
It was my wife's birthday and we were visiting Chicago as she had business there. So this came as a pleasant surprise, we saw some good reviews online and tried it. She was delighted, our waitress was amazing, she treated us to champagne, gave us some amazing suggestions in terms of their appetizers, entrees and to top it all she got us their buttercake on the house to celebrate my wife's birthday.
We will be back there, wife loves it and thank you for the amazing team at Vie.
Cocktails were amazing. Mescal has almost a cigar flavor, but it's good, and the flavor combos worked. They gave us a free congratulations desert, as we were celebrating a new job. The writing in chocolate was so thin, it looked like it was written in pen. music was alternative/classic rock. Decor was pretty cool. I'm into smoking meats and pickling, so this place was a perfect match for my taste. One of the few in the suburbs, who can boast a Michelin star.
Wonderful experience highlighted by the great service from Michael and his team (David included). Did the tasting menu, and truth be told, food was closer to a 4.5 (I rounded up). Probably would order off the menu next time - allowing both of us to have exactly what we wanted. This is a special place for special occasions and we can't wait to return.
This was our second dining experience at Vie; we are looking forward to many more. The food is creative and spectacularly delicious, the team is friendly and professional, and strives to accommodate any and all requests. They truly make your visit special. Absolutely wonderful!
I have always loved dining at Vie. I did not know that I was reserving for a Sunday supper night. The menu was different and limited and the ambiance was different as well. I was I had known when I made the reservation. Vie is doing a wonderful service by offering a family supper night. I just wish I had known as I would have booked at s different time.
We decided to spend our anniversary having dinner at Vie. It was a perfect meal. The server was really sweet, the food was better than I expected, and our table was tucked away in the corner so we could enjoy our evening. We didn't feel rushed the entire night. We will definitely go again!
We went for our anniversary on a Tuesday night. The service was impeccable. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. My husband enjoyed the scallops very much and the recommended entree. The desserts were phenomenal. As a vegetarian, I didn't feel the options were that great though. For a past Michelin rated restaurant, I would expect a bit more innovation in creating vegetarian dishes. Only one choice of app and one choice of entree. The entree was a vegetable medley.....very boring. Not much reason for me to return as I ate all of their vegetarian selections.
I've dined at Vie before, but this was way better than I'd remembered. I took my wife there (her 1st time) to celebrate her birthday and we loved it! Wonderful wine, exceptional service, and food that was other-worldly. We enjoyed a wonderfully romantic dinner, in a cozy corner, that we'll always remember. Thanks Vie! We'll be back.
My wife and I had dinner at Vie to celebrate our one-year anniversary, and we are both still raving about how amazing the restaurant is.
We initially decided to try Vie because we saw Chef Paul Virant on an episode of Beat Bobby Flay and were both very impressed with the thoughtfulness and consideration he brought to his ingredients and his cooking -- so we had high expectations, going in. Those expectations were exceeded across the board.
We had the eight-course tasting menu with wine pairings (which is, admittedly, pricey enough that only a special occasion justifies it), and it was the single finest dining experience of our lives. Absolutely everything was top-flight delicious and beautifully presented. The wine pairings all complemented the food perfectly. Our waitress, Kai, was attentive, friendly, and visibly delighted to be able to serve us such a splendid meal.
We're already looking forward to our next visit, and planning to visit Chef Paul's other restaurant sometime very soon!
Vie made me look like a genius. I took my wife there as a surprise for our fifth anniversary. They printed out special menus for us, offered a free champagne toast, and a special dessert.
We both ordered the tasting menu, and both the wine and food were fantastic. I would definitely recommend for a special occasion.
