Delicious dinner in intimate setting. Good service. Interesting menu choices and specials.
My wife and I have lived near Lawrenceville for over a decade. We've always said we wanted to try Vidalia's! We finally got around to it and now it's our favorite local restaurant. We only wish we would have gone there sooner!!
We had 6 people for dinner. Split 3 appetizers fried calamai / beef wrapped in a pastry and vadalia onion all were delicious. Then we had a chicken dish/pasta dish/scallops and I had duck which was out this world. Weren’t really into the Desserts.
Great good and great service. Will come back again.
Fantastic! I can’t believe I didn’t found this gem sooner! Looking forward to returning!
Always a good meal at Vidalia! Love the small cozy atmosphere with great service !
We both had veal, though prepared differently. Both were outstanding.
The food at Vidalia is excellent and is definitely the main attraction. There are many creative appetizer and main course choices. All are beautifully served. The building is small and could be considered cozy, but weekend evenings are very busy which elevates the noise level considerably. Perhaps preferable to visit when weather allows for pleasant off street patio seating.
We have always loved Vidalia, the staff is attentive and the food is excellent. A great value for your money as well as being a BYOB
Just moved to the neighborhood but we have come here a few times before in past two years. Each time, we have had same great food, service abd experience. Looking forward to being able to walk to dinner from now on :-)
Vidalia's always offers as amazing meal!! There are plenty of menu choices so no complaints! The servers are always pleasant accommodating, professional and friendly. The atmosphere is warm and cozy.
Sal, the owner, prides himself with offering his patrons only the best.
You certainly won't be disappointed, I highly recommend Vidalia's and give it a 5 star rating!!!
perfect for taking a good friend out for birthday dinner: desserts were great too which is really really important on the birthday! I'll be back!
Excellent Italian restaurant with a very diverse menu. Small restaurant with an enclosed heated side patio.
We formerly lived in NJ and frequented Vidalias often. Since moving to Philly, we do not go near as often but it is always worth the drive. Great experience as always!
The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
What a nice surprise to stumble across. The service was outstanding and the food was....well, my 78 year old mother said "Mmm this is the best veal ptarmigan I have ever tasted in my life!!" (and she's never easily pleased by food). From the uniquely presented appetizers to the wonderful desserts...I'd def. recommend this place to others. Traditionally taste like so much food we had in Sicily!!!
The only suggestion to improve is to somehow block all the cold weather coming into the restaurant from the front door. It was freezing in there, every time someone opened the front door.
NOTE - always make reservations...it's too small and fills up quickly. (may be worth the wait though)
Fantastic Italian food. Cozy atmosphere. Very attentive service. BYOB.
Below average food and service but far above average price.
Great food and service; this has been the standard I've come to enjoy at Vidalia.
Food is awesome. Service is consistently slow.
Had a really great meal at Vidalia this past weekend ! The duck is one of my favorite dishes here. The staff are always very pleasant also. Love having a byob close to home that’s good !
One of the very few pinnacle restaurant treasures in the Tri-State area with extraordinary, creative Italian cuisine, superlative service and ambiance. Master Chef (and owner) Salvatore Scarlata is a true genius (!) who has originated an incomparable dining experience for his clientele.
Small space, reservations necessary. Very good food, many choices, hard to decide. My second dining experience here and definitely will return,
This restaurant turned out to be a great recommendation from OpenTable. Every course we had was fabulous. Remember to bring a bottle of wine if you'd like to enjoy some as this is a BYOB establishment.
Excellent food, service, ambiance. We go often and always recommend to clients and friends.
We love this place! Best Italian restaurant in the area!!!
Overall very good. Just noisy
We have been wanting to try this place for a long time and glad we finally did! Our meals were very good however, a little on the small side for a man's appetite. The service was very good. The servers were very attentive but not too much that it was annoying. The only drawback was the small room we ere seated in, it was very loud and the temperature was very warm. I think I would like to try the larger dining room next time (it looked like an enclosed outdoor area.) All in all a very good Italian restaurant that is not your run of the mill pizza/Italian restaurant.
amazing as always! Top notch chef salvatore!
Wonderful and cozy ambience with fresh linens on tables. Wonderful for special occasions and the most delicious menu! So many great things on the menu from appetizers to entrees! Beautifully presented, too! Owner really cares about his restaurant and clientele! This is the best reliable standby neighborhood restaurant. Always lovely!
Our lunch at Vidalia was wonderful as always. Our server Diana was just perfect! The salads are fresh and delicious. Highly recommend chicken francais.
Great lunch get together place.Seating was perfect in the corner for a threesome. The food was not only tasty but picturesque. No one rushed out the door.I made a reservation because I thought it would be busy and that was the first question ask.So---glad I did.
great little restaurant tucked into a quiet neighborhood. Great service and delicious food. My steak was prepared just as requested and my wife's sea bass was light and tender. Lava cake for desert and great coffee ended a perfect evening!!
Menu selection, service, and dinner were outstanding. Ease of parking is a plus. Could use a larger waiting area. High noise level, customer conversations but got use to it. Very cozy. Definitely will be dining there again shortly. Note, Vadilia has 2 dining areas. We dined in the smaller area, probably the original restaurant, but there also an adjacent dining area which would be quieter. It’s also BYOB. Next visit I’ll opt for the original restaurant.
Great restaurant, great food and great staff. Had a super meal in a quaint location. The staff is excellent and the restaurant is one of our top three choices in the Hopewell, Lambertville and New Hope areas.
We have dined here a number of times; the food and service has always been good but Sal (the chef and owner) keeps on improving all aspects of his restaurant. We are fortunate to have him and his team in Lawrenceville.
We had tickets for a show at the McCarter Theater in Princeton. We had seen some positive reviews for Vidalia and decided to try it. So glad we did! Interesting and varied menu, the food was delicious. The service was friendly and very good, and we really enjoyed our experience.
It is small so the tables are quite close and you tend to hear and be heard by the nearby tables which is really the only downside. But it was not enough of an issue to keep us from coming again or recommending it highly.
This was an outstanding meal with a very special preparation of courses!
Great food! Thank you.
I came here with my family for my 40th birthday and had an unforgettable time. The service was excellent. Our server was bright, attentive, professional and service-oriented. The owner came out to check on us twice and then had the opportunity to speak Italian with my stepfather who was visiting from Sicily. I got serenaded in Italian and will never forget the laughter and good times shared here. The steak starter and the beet salad were scrumptious. My pasta dish w/ fennel sausage and fresh ricotta was lovely. I had some sort of lemon curd almond paste dessert and every bite was heavenly. Thank you thank you!
We frequent Vidalia, as we live so close and usually have a good experience. This was our second New Years Eve dinner there and we were not happy.
We were seated and welcomed by a nice server. She took our order based off the pre fixe menu. Our first course came out to us quickly, which was nice. Then the salad course. I requested a house salad as I cannot have cheese and it came out with cheese anyway. They corrected the same. It took time for them to clear this course and also time for our entree to come out. We actually didn't see our server until it was time for her to bring dessert. She did hook me up with an off the menu dessert due to my dietary restrictions, which was nice.
Overall, I understand it was NYE but they did not appear to be as busy as the years before. We did not feel for the price that the menu options and service were what we paid for.
