Great tasting, well prepared food & excellent service. Noise level very high
Food was delicious, and a number of people there were celebrating important occasions. I think restaurants need to do more than have radio (or radio quality) rock music playing. Seemed out of synch with the menu and the patrons. Maybe the staff or chefs demand it? Not great for the customers. Was sooo tempted to ask them to just turn it off but that was the choice they made for the ambience, so...
Service was great, we were seated on time and the food was outstanding. Everyone from the Hostess to the Chef were very accommodating. Can't wait to go back!!!
Big menu with lot of excellent dishes. We went as a big party to got to try a couple of things like the chicken marsala, chicken francese, chicken parm with penne and all were great. Don't miss the onion loaf, it comes stuffed with cheese, peppers and onions. The gelato was creamy and delicious. We would definitely go back!
The aubergine starter (half of an eggplant with tomatoes and cheese) was big enough for the main course. It was delicious when accompanied with a bowl of soup.
Our absolute favorite restaurant in the area. Food is wonderful, staff and atmosphere are perfect. I highly recommend Vidalia.
We were promptly seated. Young man helping servers was very polite, friendly & efficient. Our server was also friendly but not as attentive, didn't check on us much, only when we asked for her. It was very busy but still usually they check after meals are brought out. After 10 minutes we had to finally wave at her. Asparagus app was delicious. Onion soup was good. Entrees were just ok. The scallops were mushy, maybe not cooked all the way? The chicken rollentini(?) was smothered by too many mushrooms on top, like a blanket of mushrooms & the gorgonzola was so overwhelming. I switched to another meal & was happier. We've been here many times in the past & liked it better then.
Birthday meal. It was great as it always is!!
The salmon and the garlic beans were excellent as was my friend’s cannelloni. Our server was very attentive.
Not nearly up to the standard of best italian restaurant in NJ. No complaints, but not memorable.
This restaurant is always reliable. The food is always beautifully prepared, delicious, and hot. The service is always professional, yet friendly. The restaurant is small but very cozy and intimate. It's always my go to for my birthday, anniversary, and Valentines Day with my husband. It's really been one of my favorite places to dine for years.
We had an enjoyable meal. Pasta was excellent, sauce was outstanding and the Vidalia Bread appetizer was a meal in itself. Can't wait to go back.
The pasta dishes are excellent. The only issue I had was with the rice ball appetizer for $15. The size of the rice ball was small for the price. Although it was tasty, it's not worth the price. Your best bet would be the stuffed onion which is stuffed with cheese and fennel sausage.
Amazing doesn’t even describe
Outstanding as always. So glad the filet tips made its way into the appetizer selection for the evening!
Wonderful creative appetizers & dinners, excellent service, this restaurant is a neighborhood gem!
Excellent service and food. Loud and tight quarters but still a wonderful restaurant!!!
Some changes to the menu allowed me to try a type of pasta I never recall having anywhere before. The filetto di Pomodoro with some pieces prosciutto and red onion (and the perfect amount of garlic) is a very good pasta creation. As always, the portions here are generous.
Server had two wrong orders
We always enjoy the well prepared and creative meals at Vidalia!
Really disappointed. Upon arriving the hostess just pointed to our table. Waitress was sweet, but inexperienced. Brought the soup and appetizer out at the same time, with little room on our two top table. When we refused the appetizer she came back and advised us that the food could not be “reheated”. She brought the food out at the wrong time and then was going to “reheat” it!! Never again!
Our first time at this restaurant and everything we tried was excellent! Save room for dessert, you won’t be disappointed. We will definitely be back.
Great value / great food / close
I invited a friend for lunch at Vidalia, where I have been dining off and on for a long time. I had hoped to eat on their covered terrace because the interior of the restaurant can be extremely noisy. That day they weren't serving on the terrace, so we were confined to the noisy dining room. Fortunately the hostess kindly moved us to a quieter table by the window when it became available. We both enjoyed our lunch. I had a tasty salad of greens, apples, walnuts, gorgonzola and chicken. My guest liked her San Remo wrap. The price was certainly reasonable for the portion and quality of the food, and the service was fine. It has always been the high noise level that makes me hesitate to return to Vidalia if I am forced to sit in the tiny dining room.
Quaint restaurant with great food. It’s byob and the owner always comes by the table to say hello!
super restaurant. One of our local favorites in the Princeton NJ area. Great food and staff.
It was a lovely evening. We would like to try to outside seating next time. Our service was fantastic.
We were very pleased with our dining experience. Would recommend.
One of the best restaurants in the area. The food is amazing, the staff is knowledgeable and personable, the owner/chef is a great guy and makes you feel like family. You won’t be disappointed!
The Vidalia Menu, staff and Owner (Sal) are outstanding. The food is exceptional and the staff could not do enough. Love it!
Special occasion -- my wife's birthday. A lovely dinner. From her bright and beautiful veal fichi to my deeply soul-satisfying osso bucco, everything was terrific. Service was perfect, and the room as cozy and inviting as ever.
Everything was great as always!!! We love Vidalia!
Best restaurant in Central NJ for certain. Sal and his staff continue to impress.
The noise level was so loud, we finished our luncheon quickly and left. My friend and I meet in the Lawrenceville area about six times a year and have gone to Vidalia's several times. Wednesday was our last time there. Actually, the food was not that great either.
Everything was good, but the prices were a little high, especially since a salad is not even included with entree. Also, the bread is not really bread, but crusts that are toasted and seasoned.
Great food great service
Reasonably priced for what you get
Many excellent choices
My only regret is that I have gone by the location for many years not knowing about the restaurant but will be back many times in the future
I would have enjoyed it more if the specials for the evening were printed out with prices. It's a small room and hearing the server recite the specials more than a half a dozen times was annoying.
Always a great dining experience! Excellent food & service!!!
It was delicious. We were early. They seem to have no problem with that. We celebrated my bd. They plated the cake we brought, no problem. Everything was awesome!
We have eaten at Vidalia several times over the past few years and were disappointed only once. There was a large group in the restaurant which was very loud and disruptive. The chef apologized, but of course he cannot be blamed for a large reservation. We enjoy Vidalia so much that we have not let the one time deter us from returning.
