We had a large group and were seated in a very hot room. While we were given the opportunity to move, or get free drinks, we stayed because it was too much if a hassle to move everyone. Not everyone got a free drink--and the service was not very good.
Nice decor...restaurant was much louder than I anticipated. Service was very attentive but food was average and a little pricey for it’s quality.
The grilled calamari and Sicilian salad were delicious! We took the spaghetti and meatballs dish to-go partly because we were getting full off of the two dishes but mainly because service was slow and we needed to go. We were the first table to be sat in the back right corner of the first floor but were the last table to be served any food (we ordered a salad and others were getting their hot entrees before we even got that!). Pretty disappointing as this has happened twice now and we are residents within the neighborhood who really wanted to like this place but have not had good service. We took a bite of the spaghetti and meatballs when we returned home and it’s nothing special.
Excellent food and service! Meatballs are ginormous and everything we ordered was big, lots of leftovers.
Went there but unfortunately night of Beyoncé concert and the place was beyond noisy. Don’t go on a concert night ....otherwise very nice
Went in for a quick dinner before the concert, choose due to the closeness of soldier field and could reserve a table ahead of time (didnt know how busy it would be a Friday evening). So glad i picked this place but next time def want to try a dessert 😊
Lasagna and champagne was a perfect splurge
Went before a concert at soldier field. Gave ourselves plenty of time. Service was very slow. Food was mediocre, pizza was downright terrible - like cracker with tomato sauce. Waiter didn't want us to order draft beer or cocktails because he would have to go downstairs to get them. Didn't feel welcome at all. Avoid.
Great HappyHour menu that includes several wine selections!
Food was delicious and service was impeccable. Bobby our server is the main reason we will be coming back.
Victory tap never disappoints. The peach and Burrata was awesome and we added balsamic glaze and it was even better. Eating outside is always wonderful. Javier was terrific as our server. We will definitely go back
I found the menu was not detailed enough, the server explained many additional dishes that were very interesting and not on the menu
Found this place on Open Table and had to try it out. The waiter was great and the food as well.
Both pasta entrees were delicious and despite it being 90 degrees out and packed, our server busted his butt to make sure we got in and out quickly in time to get to our concert. Hidden gem, would go back.
The food was excellent service was fantastic would recommend this restaurant to anybody. We had a group of 10 everybody had fun food was delicious. Thank you again!
The food was fantastic! We had the eggplant appetizer which was off the charts. The sea bass was prepared Vesuvio style and it was amazing! No room for desert!
Great food! Favorite was the calamari calabrese. Huge meatballs appetizer. Nice sized food portions.
Great food - Great atmosphere - Great time! I was in town for business and wanted some homemade italian food and a good glass of wine. Armands Victory Tap was recommended by the Hyatt McCormick Place concierge. I sat at the bar, Jeff and his co-workers provided great service. I met and chatted with friendly locals and had a great evening. I will definitely return. Thanks!
First time to try this Italian restaurant in our neighborhood. On a Friday night it was of course pretty busy. Good quality Italian food, with portions that are typically wayyyy to big. The lasagne was easily two meals.
Homemade soup was good.
We won't likely return. Restaurant is MUCH to noisy. It makes the whole dining experience unpleasant and hurried.
We stopped in because we passed by and it looked interesting, glad we did. The food was great, and very generous servings. Thought we waited too long between appetizers and main meal, there was large group but still a small group should get consideration as well. Noise level not bad and the server was helpful.
Our waiter was amazing! We had wonderful service and the food was delicious! Highly recommend.
The place has the highest noise level we have experienced and we eat out several times a week. the food was greasy and the service was bad. Sometimes you pick a loser.
We had a party of 12 for a pre-concert dinner. Great service as they were able to get us in and out in less than 90 minutes. Great pacing with the drink and dinner orders. Efficient but never rushed. No small accomplishment with a large group. Food was excellent all the way around. Our group had everything from traditional Italian dishes, chicken, pork and seafood entrees, pizza, salads, etc. We live in South Loop and Armand’s is a neighborhood gem. Vibrant atmosphere and well laid out open restaurant/bar. Again all made possible by a great waitstaff.
Absolutely wonderful experience. Wait staff are very professional. Ambience is fantastic. Food - the food is incredible! Overall an exceptional experience and I hope to dine there again soon.
Horrendous service. Our server was not attentive at all and we had to wait over an hour for our dinner.
Great food and old fashioned atmosphere. Service was slow; we came at a between lunch and dinner and there were several large parties.
We went there for a graduation celebration dinner. Service and food were excellent. We will be back again. Parking was pretty easy even on. Saturday afternoon and valet service is available. Salads, meatballs, pizza were all terrific.
This is a diamond in the rough. The atmosphere and food here is excellent in every way. Delicious and authentic Italian food in very imaginative styles and ways. Chef is very accommodating on a very busy night. Don't come to Chicago and stay only downtown. Come down the South side and each some delicious food.
The meatball are delicious sauce is even better just like grandmas on sunday !
It was amazing. The food the service. We sat at bar, the young lady waiting on us was such a delight! Great experience. Will definitely be back for the Nona platter!
Great food with several fresh specials. Full bar. Great service.
A group of us went with our kids prior to the Taylor Swift concert. I understand that because of the concert it was unusually crowded, but we waited over 30 min for our table (we had a reservation) and when finally seated there was some confusion over who would be our waiter. At this point we were really running tight on time for the concert. Once things got sorted the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The food was good-was what you’d expect from a local Italian tavern.
Delicious cocktails and food. The grilled seafood app was so good and lots to share. Huge portions. Service was impeccable. Valentina made our night!
We were seated at 6pm and no one came to our table for 15 minutes. We had to then wave down a waiter 20 minutes later to take our order. Our appetizer came out, but an hour later our meal didn’t come out. No one checked on us and it took over 15 minutes each time to get someone’s attention. We had been there for approximately 1 hr & 45 minutes and asked when our food would arrived. Our waiter disappeared again and we finally cancelled the order. Their solution when we complained was to “tell us next time what happened & we’ll comp some drinks for you,” which is lazy and impractical. They should have comped an item this time, because we certainly won’t be coming back.
We love Armands pizza, house salad and the food in general. Staff is attentive, polite and professional. However, the noise level is excessive and makes us think twice about dining there again. My husband and I sat across from each other and had difficulty carrying on a conversation. Please take additional steps to reduce the noise and we'll happily come back.
Booked while Restaurant was wide open. Seated all the way in back next to kitchen door; not a great start. Service was poor. However that said, food was great which compensated. However my side of pasta was cold. Another one brought and was barely warm. The restaurant was very noisy and hard to hold a conversation amongst the 4 of us. Beer was flat; new keg was explanation.
Overall I would recommend but let’s hope they improve in some basic areas. With Giocco now closed, this is the best bet for Italian in the south loop.
4th time back and it was as wonderful as ever. Great service and food. We were celebrating an anniversary and birthday and had a great time.
We went on a Friday night, and the place was packed. Our waiter Bobby was awesome, great service
Don't bother setting a reservation because they won't honor it. Had a 7 O'clock reservation and didn't get seated until 8 after being told it would take 10 minutes to set up our table. Food was good tho.
Excellent food and service - Bobby was great!
