As always good and wine were great! Thank you!
It was a great dinner but the noise level was so loud, you could barely hear you conversations with the people you were dining with in the restaurant.
This place is one of our favorite neighborhood hangouts. The food is usually pretty good, service usually pretty good. It is however, very loud when the restaurant is full, due to the lack of soft surfaces in the decor.
This last visit, we had 8 in our party, 6 of whom are from out of town visiting us. I made reservations via Open Table. When we got there, the hostess decided that she was going to put us in the bar - high top table with backless barstools. We have a few Older folks with us, so that was definitely NOT a good idea. Luckily, the manager spotted that we were not happy and I was trying to get her attention. She asked if we could wait for a few minutes and set us up at a proper table in the dining room.
Everyone had a good time, except the noise level was quite high and hard to carry on a conversation. No matter, food was good, wine was good.
Great food, well priced. Way too loud.
We had the stuffed shells, chopped salad, and the cucumber cocktail. It was amazing!!!
We started with an order of the cauliflower, meatballs, and burrata salad. Entrees were stuffed shells, meat ravioli, and the pork chop. Everything was phenomenal. We didn't have time (or room in our stomachs) for dessert. Can't wait to come back.
Food came out at different times or not at all. Very slow but will always come back for the AMAZING food
Made a 5:30 reservation prior to the concert. Waited over an hour for the table and then 30 minutes to order. Food never came. At 7:20 we had to leave for the concert hungry. Of course we had to pay for our drinks. I should have known that the reason I could get a reservation (when all other nearby restaurants were not accepting reservations) was that the restaurant wanted to get us there for whatever they could get from us. Really bad experience. Will not go back. Far too many great restaurant owners who work hard for their customers in Chicago to deal with this.
We love Armand’s and always have a nice dinner and great service, but this is the second time we’ve come before a concert and the wait time and service has been awful. I understand that there’s a concert, so there might be a bit of a wait for food (we had reservations for seating), but the restaurant should staff accordingly and only seat the amount of tables they are able to accommodate. We will not be returning before any event and I would highly suggest going elsewhere.
Breaded pork chop was deliciouso!
Always enjoy Armands Victory Tap. Food and drinks are very good; service excellent.
Set up a reservation for 645pm for night of first Rolling Stones concert. Got there, learned that not only would table not be ready, they did not know when it would be ready. This is unacceptable. If you're taking reservations, you must make good on them. If you can't accept reservations because of extenuating circumstances, then don't allow reservations. Simple. We won't be going back.
Perfect spot for a good meal before an event at Soldier Field (as long as the intense energy aka low-level chaos doesn't bother you).
The food was so fresh and extremely delicious. Every single dish we had was outstanding and we will definitely be back to try more.
Amazing food and service. Very attentive wait staff even on a busy Friday night. Old time ambience.
The food was amazing, the lasagna was outstanding and the homemade shells were also very well done. In addition, the old fashioned was one of the best I’ve had in the city. Our only complaint was that it was a little louder than we would have preferred but still a good experience
My big eating son & husband loved it!!
Great place for dinner. Loved the service, atmosphere and especially the pizza!
Found this on Open Table and Also saw the yelp reviews and picked it for both. OMG so delicious. Caesar salad was one of the best I ever had (and I make a damn good one) and my husband LOOOOVVVEEEDD the deep dish pizza. Healthy portions but since we had traveled all day and not eaten, we made a mark. Service was great- Danielle was out server and super attentive and knowledgeable. Would go there every week if we didn’t live across the country.
Great place to eat!! The breads are excellent. The Chicken Marsala was great. My friends enjoyed the special of the day. Our server was very sweet and attentive. So were our two busboys. The only thing I wish was they sold half portions. I can never eat all my food.
Omg, the new Honey Crisp Apple Salad is outstanding! We ate at the bar with Hymie who is wonderful. Please don't take Red Schooner off of the wine list!
My friends and I truly enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere.
Service was great!
Best Italian food I’ve had in the city. The staff is phenomenal and spot is intimate and perfect. I highly recommend eating there if you get the chance.
Sound system way too loud. We had to yell to be heard! & $20 valet in South Loop!!!! What?
Food & server were very good, however
One of my favorites! The food and service can’t be better
Super larger portions for everyone at our table. Each person loved their food and had leftovers for lunch the next day.
Can’t wait to go back and try something else!
Great location. Great service. Eggplant Milanese delicious A bit noisy but lived the ambience.
The service was excellent! My waiter was helpful in letting me know that I was about to order too much food and he was RIGHT!! I had the Veal Parmesan and Caesar Salad and both were enough to feed three people! Needless to say I had major leftovers. Will definitely go back again.
All of our meals were delicious and large portions. The gnocchi and the orecchiette with sausage were definitely the two favorites of the table, but the homemade meatballs were also fantastic. The service was good, but very slow. We ended up being there for nearly two hours, and it wasn't due to our pace of eating. Our group also had a reservation but were not seated until nearly a half an hour past the scheduled time, likely due to the length of time it took other people to get their meals, as well.
Despite the slow pace, would still recommend. I've also had their pizza before (The Yardstick will feed 8 people, easily) and it's very good.
Food and service was AMAZING! My only complaint was how load it was; not a ideal place for a romantic date but would definitely come back with a group of friends.
Huge portions and absolutely delicious food!!! We loved the roasted Brussels sprouts and Caesar salad. Great value for great food
Ambiance is as amazing, food was spectacular. Service was good a quick. I’ll be coming back!!
Good 'old school' Italian pastas, pizza and specials at reasonable prices. However, some of the dishes are extremely salty; and I am not that sensitive to salt.
We were pleased with the food and ambience of Victory Tap. This was our second time and we had taken a long break due to less than stellar quality of the food the first time we went. The service could’ve been better - wait staff didn’t appear very knowledgeable about the menu and at times, not that friendly. However, we enjoyed the food and would recommend the pork chops.
Loved the food which was delicious and generous portions. Ambiance was perfect for traditional Italian and the wait staff was outstanding. The bar looked great too!
Food was horrible not like what is use to be. Was very disappointing.
The food was great and the service was wonderful. We had a great time.
31st wedding anniversary.
