What a fabulous and delicious find! We got there early evening and had a delicious meal of appetizers. We'll definitely be back!
The food and service at Victory Tap were very good. The noise level is a bit too much for me. I couldn’t talk to the person across the table from me without shouting.
Mostly great, waitress disappeared when it was time to pay, lengthy dead time at the table until we were able to finally flag someone else to take our payment.
Went there for a birthday dinner. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed the tasty food, exceptional service, friendly atmosphere and, best yet, we could converse freely without shouting over loud music or invasive television. All four of us agreed it's stupendous! We don't often agree on everything. ;-)
Had dinner with family visiting from California. I’m from Chicago but it was my first visit. Service and food was amazing. Positions are great for sharing. We had such a good time. Looking forward to be back very soon.
Lisa is a fabulous server. Love that the Burrata gets changed out seasonally. Lobster de jonghe was amazing. Great meal, great service and great ambiance. One of my favorite spots.
The food was delicious! Jeffrey was amazing and made great recommendations. Highly recommend asking for him.
This is our second trip to Victory and it didn’t disappoint!! Last time was for our anniversary and this time was before the Bears game. The noise level was much louder this time but that is to be expected! We had the meatball salad which was fabulous and huge and a small pizza which was equally delicious!! Perfect for the 2 of us before the game. Even though it was crowded with lots of Bears/Vikings fans, we didn’t feel like we waited long for service or food! As a side note, we sat along the wall at a 2 person table and the guy next to me ordered a pork chop, holy cow, it was so huge I thought it would be able to feed a family of f 4! The food here is great with a fabulous selection and reasonably priced!! Can’t wait to go back!!
We had an excellent meal with very good service. Portions are large. We had a child in our party and she was well treated by the staff.
We ordered a seafood pasta, which the mussels and clams were all stinky and bad. We told the server, but the manager came after 30min (we were the only table eating in the restaurant at that time!). Really unpleasant meal, won't come back again.
Lively place, high noise level. Waitress got pizza toppings wrong and type of pasta requested. Wanted us to order entire meal at one time. No time to relax between courses. Did not keep bottle of prosecco iced and cold. Food very good. Eggplant salad excellent.
Really a great find, just a tad more salt was the difference between ok and exceptional minestrone. The Chefs winning pasta was a hit, again a little under seasoned but red pepper and cheese at the table kicked it into a really strong dish. A cannoli and cup of coffee rounded out a great meal, both exceptional. The service friendly, helpful and unrushed. Perfect performance. If only the seasoning was a little stronger you’d be a five star.
Our server was very aggressive/pushy it was all about what she wanted us to eat. She did not ask us what we like or give us choices she told/decided for us what was best. My associate and I ate less than 10% of our meal. Other than some good wine, which we picked, and bread it was a very poor experience
It was nice. A bit noisy
Went there on a Saturday night, just looking for a place in the South Loop after seeing a movie downtown. Valet parking is available; parking on Michigan Av is tough. We had a reservation for 7:30, but still had to wait about 15 minutes (very crowded). Sat down, got a nice bottle of wine for a reasonable price (they also have some very expensive wines on the menu, for the big spenders in the world). We split an enormous Caesar salad, $10, very tasty. My wife had an eggplant appetizer as her entree, which was easily enough for two people. I had the giambotta: 1/2 chicken, two Italian sausages, nice sauce, peppers and onions. Really tasty Took home about 1/2 the food. I would definitely return. The pizza looked great, and all the portions looked huge. I was drooling over the lasagna that was ordered at the next table. Great, attentive service.
Food was just ok . Servers were excellent. Noise level was awful. This is not the place to eat if you want conversation
I made the mistake of booking the restaurant without consulting my guests and they all had food issues. Two wouldn’t eat gluten and one was on a diet; Italian was probably not the best option, but we all loved the food. I had the pork chop which was huge and awesome!
Nice spot for family or business gathering. Great for dates. They have a nice variety of dishes prepared at a high level with great plating. The drink menu is extensive, especially their whiskies. Service is always friendly and timely.
Disappointing experience at a place we usually love. We arrived an hour before closing on Saturday night., which may have contributed to the problems, but they did accept our reservation on Open Table. Our waitress was great and very apologetic, but the kitchen messed up several orders and then was arguing loudly with our waitress in front of customers and then again in the kitchen. Unprofessional. Our waitress did her best to apologize, and it was in no way her fault, but this was very uncomfortable.
Kept us standing for half an hour -- WITH reservations. Then they stuffed us between the kitchen door and a table for 12. RIDICULOUSLY noisy. (This is not rocket science. Get some ceiling insulation!) We'd eaten here before and thought the food was good, so brought friends. They hated it and we were embarrassed by the poor experience. NO offer of a drink or a dessert to try and make the meal better. They gave us a $25 gift card to return (one card, when we were clearly two couples). SERIOUSLY??? If you want to be ignored, not hear a word your dinner companion is saying and leave with a headache -- this is the place for you.
Staff attentive and fun. Braciole was great, enough for two. Misto grill appetizer was awesome. Very nice selection of wine. Will be back.
The service is horrible. Waited forever to get our food ordered and then waited a long time of the check. We also had to ask for water and were so neglected that we just had them to bring the pitcher to the table.
Amazing food and Evelyn was the best server we’ve had in a while. In town for the weekend, and so glad we went there. Perfect spot for itialian.
Waitress disappeared halfway through the meal so service suffered when staff tried to fill in
If you haven’t been to Victory Tap, your missing out. Ask for Evelyn! The meatballs are fantastic.
Delicious food and great atmosphere! Our service was excellent, wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and courteous. Would highly recommend this restaurant to others.
Both food and service were excellent. The manager came over to check on us several times ensuring a positive experience, and server was very attentive as well. We are in love with Victory Tap. Highly recommendable! Special thanks to the crew who took such good care of us. :)
This latest visit to Victory Tap was extremely disappointed. Seated us in an area with no server. Did not get water or drinks for 15 minutes. Finally flagged down a server who took our orders. Appetizer came out in a normal time. Main meal followed an hour later. Will not go back and would not recommend to a friend.
Service and food was Excellent Go there often and enjoyed everything about it
Great food and ambiance! Can’t wait to go back! Drinks were delicious- especially the Old Fashioned. The eggplant Parmesan...AMAZING!!!
Able to get a reservation 3 hours before we arrived. Food, service and hospitality was excellent!
Food was very good. Large portions at a very reasonable price. Service was excellent with very friendly staff. Very good cocktails. Will be going there again.
A regular spot for us. The food is great. Sunday’s are the best as it is far less busy, so the noise level is well below normal and very tolerable. If you go when busy, try to sit near the front of the restaurant as it is very noisy in the back. The eggplant stack is outstanding as an appetizer. Portions are huge so sharing is sensible, unless you want great leftovers for the next day. This is a great restaurant and I highly recommend it!
Incredible foog at a great price. Grest menu a perfect replacement for RoSal.
The restaurant was overbooked and couldn’t tell us how long the wait was. Every time we asked, they told us 5 more minutes. When we heard the hostesses discussing how they were overbooked and couldn’t accommodate all the reservations, we left.
The atmosphere was very nice. The portions are very healthy. The wait staff was knowledgeable and very helpful. Very fair prices.
Always a good time with outstanding food! I've been there many times and have always enjoyed it.
We had a great experience from the moment we walked in. We were seated right away. Marcos, our server, was more than attentive, even refilling my glass of wine without me realizing it. The food was great! We ordered appetizers to share as our meal, and they came out piping hot, just a couple at a time, and they were delicious!
Service was great. Gnocchi was ok, not special. First entry came out cool, but they completely remade it, which was not requested but was above and beyond!
Great staff-very friendly & welcoming. Valet parking is bad. The outside valet service is trying to cover two restaurants in close proximity & it is not good.
