It would’ve been 5 stars but for the bartender. We got to restaurant for our reservation- they were really busy and running behind so we went to the bar . Ordered wine. The bartender( male) was quite loud and boisterous with some people there at the bar. It took some women ( maybe manager) who came up to the bar to get us a drink. He never paid attention to us. Then when he was pouring the wine out of a little carafe he had used to measure with-he spilt a good portion all down the sides of the glass. He didn’t even pour more in the glass to make up for it despite it being 12$/ glass. Nor did he wipe the glass so when you drank it dripped on your clothes. Otherwise everything else was fabulous. Worth the wait. Had the nicest waiter. Great Italian food.
Came on Saturday night, Reservation for 7, seated at 730, entree came at 9
Got there early (6:10)for a 6:30 reservation they seated us and dropped of the menu right away. In the first 5 minutes the waitress showed up, welcomed us and dropped off menu’s. She came back in 5 took our drink order. 5 minutes or so she brought our drinks and took our order. So far so good. Appetizers came fairly quickly 20 minutes. That’s when I asked for bread the first time. The apps were good. Salad and grilled calamari. Had another drink and an hour later our entrees came roughly 8 pm. Spaghetti and meatballs and pasta and sausage in a oil and garlic sauce.
The room we were in had no heat. It was on the second floor all the way to the back. Every other table in the room was full and every other table also waited two hours for their pasta. My wife and several of the other people there were running the marathon the next day. None wanted to eat at 8pm. We made a 6:30 reservation because we wanted to be in bed early. The cold, the lack of concern from management and the fact that we waited 2 hours for pasta and the bill was $120. Bad experience over all. My wife’s portion was pretty small she want full. The bread did come with our entrees.
Huge portions. Very attentive service. Super loud and hard to hear
As always: wonderful service, wonderful food. Way too loud!
Great selection of wines by the glass and bottle. Lasagna, stuffed shells, ravioli and tortellini were all outstanding. Will definitely return!
What a great place. Food is outstanding. Staff are friendly and efficient. Nice wine list.
Caution - portions are huge. One small chopped salad is enough for 4 people to share as a starter.
Excellent food once again, never have been disappointed on a single menu item. Service has always gone the extra mile.
Food and service at this restaurant are great but the noise level is a serious detractor.
Food service was noticeably of lesser quality on this Tuesday night. It arrived lukewarm, not hot. A capuchino after the meal was tepid. This used to be a good restaurant. It didn't live up to its previous level this time. Is this an aberration or a cutback in quality?
We like this restaurant a lot, but I am not sure if our server, Kathleen, could have rushed us out any quicker. She never checked on us to see how we liked the food or if we needed anything else. Were were there to celebrate my fiance's birthday, which I noted in the reservation, and she didn't even aknowledge it. I would go back, but was disappointed with the service.
The food was delicious, the service was impeccable and the staff could not have been friendlier! Their homemade pastas are outstanding.
Excellent service & food !
Food and service are fantastic
Jaime / jimae the bartender was excellent! I requested a dish that was not on the menu, however has been offered before as a special at times, and he made sure the chef prepared it the way I like. It was delicious!!!
Really enjoyed the Pizza and Pasta. Service was very good. Nice beer selection. Our server was fantastic. If I lived in the area I would be a regular. Thank you for a nice time!
Service was outstanding, the food portions were generous and delicious The Victory Tap Team went out of their way to ensure an enjoyable dining experience. Access was successful for a scooter for a friend with limited mobility
pre bears game dinner - great spot!!
Great food great service unbelievable drinks
We had a wonderful dinner. Cesar was our waiter and he was fantastic! The food was excellent (the chef burrata was an amazing special... especially for my gluten free daughter).
Portion sizes were very large. First time dining there. Would go again to try other dishes. Middle of the road Italian
Great food, good atmosphere, friendly staff!
Everything about this place is outstanding. Some of the best and most original Italian dishes I've ever had. The prices are reasonable and the service is great. This was my second visit and I'll definitely become a regular.
food and service were very good in a homey atmosphere.
Loved the food and our server was fantastic. The rhythm and flow of removal of plates etc was just so fast paced we felt a bit rushed. We’re Italian and we have family dinners all the time.
We like to enjoy amazing food but also the experience of enjoying wonderful family talks at the dinner table with our dessert and wine or espressos. We were there for our last night visiting with our daughter who lives in Chicago. A little calmer pace would’ve been ideal. Otherwise... Kaytie and the FOOD though! Amazing.
The food was very good, but the noise was almost intolerable. The music is so loud when you walk in that you have to shout at your friends to be heard. That makes even more noise that utterly exacerbates the situation. We complained and they turned it down a bit, but despite a wonderful waitress (shout out to Jamie), and lovely food, we would be hard pressed to return.
We are from Phoenix and just happened upon Victory Tap. We went in with no expectations and were surprised with the level of service and food quality. The bolognese was fantastic, as were the brussel sprouts and cesar. Wine list was good and the bottle prices were very good. Service was exemplary.
Awesome place. Had great service and great food. Loved it here!
Great food, great location before going to Northerly Island, and quite loud.
I booked a reservation for 8 people - it turned out to be 10 people - the staff was completely accommodating and welcoming. We had started at the bar because a few of us arrived earlier and enjoyed some fabulous cocktails. When our entire large party had all arrived, we were promptly seated. Our waitress was wonderful and helped us with ordering a perfect selection of appetizers which were all fantastic!! We then ordered from the menu and the specials list; everyone agreed that this was a fantastic experience. Unfortunately, we had to leave quickly for a show. I feel we would have loved to stay longer at the Victory Tap!
Other than noise level, everything was perfect including our water, wait staff and very thoughtful and gracious manager.
A friend and I was there celebrating a birthday Victory tap was recommended and I must say we were very pleased food was excellent service excellent our waitress was fantastic and I'm sorry I don't recall her name but she was a pro I would definitely recommend Victory tap and of course we would definitely return again.
Service was indifferent. Not asked if we wanted another drink, no spoons for a sauce, no menu provided for dessert. Asked for a bag for leftovers and told they did not have them. Finally asked for a brown paper bag.
My uncle and I got to dinner at 7:30 and pretty quickly ordered 2 appetizers for our dinner to share. It took them about an hour to bring out a personal pizza and the eggplant tower appetizers. We didn't get out of the restaurant until 9. While the food was very good, the wait was absolutely crazy. It was also impossible to hear each other talk as it was so loud in there.
Victory is our “go to” neighborhood place for any occasion. Food is great and Lisa is the best!
It was closed I don't know why they had it available on line
Excellent service and delicious food! My husband and I shared the Caesar salad and a small pizza and enjoyed both. The complimentary bread they serve is to die for. Wish I could’ve taken some home!
Amazing staff, amazing food, our favorite neighborhood spot.
This awesome neighborhood spot never, ever disappoints. The honey crisp apple salad is outstanding! So was the gnocchi and sausage and peppers, which Victor, our fabulous server also had the kitchen add potatoes to! Please never take Red Schooner off of the wine list! Wonderful, energetic place
Second visit. Really enjoyed.
