It was a birthday dinner, which was stated on the reservation. We were greeted when we entered, and the hostess & manager commented on the birthday. Unfortunately, the waiter never acknowledged it and we should have mentioned it. Dinner was very nice. Like most places, it seems that they are still working to get a full wait staff up and running? But our waiter did a good job, he just wasn't tuned into the point that it was a birthday.
This place was bustling on a Friday night at 5pm: bar full and tables full by 6pm. If you want social distancing you will not be able maintain a 6 ft distance if you sit at the bar—but the tables are more than adequately distanced. The music (Sinatra etc) was a bit loud but as the place filled you did couldn’t hear it over the crowd noise. Everything is all carte and overall pricey for the value.
Service was excellent—spot on —at times there were almost too many people helping our server (which is better than no help any day).
Food: appetizer-(octopus puttanesca) was outstanding; bread/focaccia delicious. Given the great start, we were underwhelmed by the eggplant parm and the chicken eggplant parm—there was nothing inherently wrong with them but they were very bland, and had so much cheese you had to take small bites not to choke on it. The marinara served on the side of rigatoni (why extra pasta is served with a pasta dish has always been a mystery to me) was way more flavorful than the eggplant dishes. One of us had the radiatori ala Vodka -he loved it. Portions are huge.
Thank you for your thoughtful review. We appreciate your choosing to dine with us. We hope you join us again!
Very good food, fun vibe in the place. Border line noisy. Like the clear separators. A little pricey but worth it. Service was good. Definitely would go back.
Thank you for your kind review and for choosing to dine with us! We hope you join us again soon!
Excellent food. Experienced, impeccable service. We will be back
Victory Italian was a terrific dining experience. The staff was informed, efficient and helpful. The menus is a perfect length with appropriate variety. There are several items I would go back and try moving forward.
Service was poor and some of the staff were rude. Hopefully will improve as this place just opened two weeks ago.
I'll cut them some slack since they just opened, but the service was at a glacial pace (and we were there on a Monday early evening). Also it doesn't bode well when a restaurant is out of items at the beginning of dinner service. That being said, the food we did order was very good. For the area, I think the price point is a little high on the pasta, and a somewhat high on the other main entrees.
Madeline, we want to thank you for choosing to dine with us. We are so sorry that the service was lacking, we appreciate your understanding but all our guests deserve the best possible service at all times. We hope you will join us again.
It started out with the knife being dirty and instead of giving me a new one he polished it on his apron when he thought I wasn’t looking and gave it back
My husband‘s meal was mediocre.
I ordered the eggplant Parmesan and it tasted like soap.
Pasta was not al dente it was not cooked.
Never ever going back
The pasta dishes were very greasy- food came out slowly. Wrong dish was brought out...
Simply...we will return and bring friends! 50 Character minimum for review.☺

We went to Victory Italian Oak Park for the first time for a family member's birthday.
We had a great time, the food was delicious and there was a nice drink list. You feel like you are in a throwback Italian restaurant. We had the mussels, salmon special, orecchiette w/sausage & pees, meat ravioli and pappardelle bolognese.
The restaurant has great distancing and barriers to keep diners safe and all the staff were wearing proper face coverings.
Thank you so much for your kind 5-star review. We appreciate your choosing to spend a special day with us! Please join us again soon.
We’ve been waiting for Victory Italian to open. It did not disappoint! The food was delicious! Wine and Prosecco was great. Service was excellent. We ate at the bar. Michael our bartender/waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. Definitely coming back!
Tracey, thank you for dining with us and for your great 5-star review. Please join us again soon!
Disappointing new restaurant in OP which cannot compare in quality to existing Italian restaurants in town...the first thing that hits you when you walk in is the music -oldies tunes amped way too loud for dining! Bar scene vibe with but "fine dining" pretensions. Restaurant seating is dark and sterile and menu is old-school Italo-American - not authentic, any more than the name...if you claim to be an Italian restaurant, at least choose an Italian name. Food quite good but over-priced and uninspired, especially the ho-hum pasta dishes. Featured cocktail was sour and poorly crafted. Victory was definitely NOT...
We are terrible sorry that your experience with us was not would you would have liked it to be. Just opened this week and they were on target without any hiccups! Portions are huge for appetizers, so did not have any room left for entrees...definitely will be back, as there were so many items on the menu I want to try. Restaurant had a 1940s - 1950s supper club feel to it..cozy space but can be a little loud...good value for the money and decent wine list
Thank you for your wonderful 5-star review. We cannot wait to have you back to try it all. Thank you for choosing to dine with us!
We had to wait a little while for our entrees but waiter was very communicative and gave us a free tiramisu dessert - the wait was worth it and the food, music, etc was very good. We will be back!
Thank you for your kind words and patience with us on our first Friday night! We are so excited to be open here in Oak Park! Please join us again soon1
Victory was hitting on all cylinders on their first night open. Food was excellent and the ambience was great. Terrific music.
Service was extremely polite with nice touch from the manager - a couple of hiccups but nothing that won’t shake out once they have been open a while.
We will be going back with the whole family soon.
