Food was delicious and the service was incredible ! Great first expirience !
Our waiter clearly set the tone for a poor experience, little did we know the food was going to match poor as well. Our waiter did not want to be doing his job that night, at least not four our table of 5 — mom with 4 older teens. We started with a caprese style salad, but with red and golden beets and roasted Brussels sprouts. The beets were hard as rocks as was whatever cheese came with it. The Brussels sprouts were roasted, yet soggy. Yuk! Everyone’s entree was sub par. I had chicken Milanese. It was dry, not even warm, and hard. One child had rigatoni with sausage gravy and thought it was decent. Again. Don’t even let me get started on our terrible waiter.
A really disappointing experience.
The food is delicious. Can be a little loud in the front by the door.
Great experience!! Service was great, food was great we will be back!!!
Loved the meatballs and garlic bread as starters. Entrees were delicious as well and the large portions have given us a few meals. Would definitely go back
Fabulous menu and reasonable. Don’t miss the meatballs...Cesar salad or gnocchi! Great for lunch Friday or Saturday...looking for brunch
Great New Years Eve dinner with my wife before the fireworks. We came into town just to enjoy dinner and the holiday festivities. Glad we came. The service was spot on and the meal was memorable. I have a personal weakness for sausage and peppers along with most veal dishes. The sausage was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of char while my Veal Pizzaiola was mouth watering and came with a beautiful crushed red tomato compote/sauce garnished with healthy and perfectly salty capers. My wife tried the Veal Cannelloni daily special. She raved about the flavor and the sauce. We shared a bit and I couldn’t agree more. Can’t wait to go back and try some of the other menu and daily special items. I have my eye on Joe’s Mama’s Sunday meatball and salad dish!
Good dining experience for the New Year!
Wonderful new place in River North! Beautiful interior, great ambiance with a classic Italian vibe. Great bar upstairs. Food was delicious and portions were ample, with a smart wine list. We need to support new restaurants in this neighborhood, and I’m happy to support this one!
No parking or valet available. Appetizers arrived cold. Entrees were terrible. We have eaten at this chefs restaurant before and were totally disappointed.
Victory Italian is my GO-TO place! I love everything on the menu
THe more we go, the more we love it! It keep on getting better and better. Wish all restaurants could be as on the ball as Victory. Food is just perfect and the service is attentive but not obtrusive.
Wonderful experience all the way around. I wish they would have acknowledged the birthday we were celebrating with a comp dessert or other treat. Portions are definitely for 2 to share, service and food was excellent.
absolutely the best pizza anywhere in Chicago, just like the original in Elmwood Park that was famous for their pizza...now they have an excellent menu also so you can't go wrong, anything you order will be excellent...definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in this great city of food...
Fantastic server (Jaime) and the food is good ole, old school Italian. Started with the grilled calamari, which was decent. Didn't see Chicken Picatta on the menu, but Jaime said, no worries. The kitchen can make it, and, boy, did they ever. Excellent flavor, HUGE portion. My finance stuck with traditional cheese ravioli, which he loved. Happy hour drinks from the cocktail menu ONLY $6! As I often do, I got marinara on my shirt sleeve. Not a problem. Jaime used soap and club soda to wash it out right on the table. Are you kidding me? Service beyond compare. Rarely tip more than my usual 20%, but she deserved and got more. Took home their fabulous tiramisu. Perfect for a midnight snack! Will be back on our next visit!
We had some trouble with our on-line reservation and ended up waiting 20-30 minutes for a table. Once at the table however, the service was very good and the quality of the food was fantastic! Having just returned from a trip to Italy, my expectations of being impressed by the food here were quite low but they delivered fantastically!!
Had a wonderful experience here December of 2018. After seeing Hamilton we decided to flee the loop to the far western edge of River North and were oh, so happy that we did. From beginning to end, a great experience; we enjoyed the bottle of wine we had with our meal, their wonderful garlic bread, and especially the very tasty rustic Italian classics we ordered (I had gnocchi and my bride ordered their lasagne.) Be sure to come very hungry as their portions were legendary!
Celebrated a birthday here! Restaurant is great- service over the top and amazing, as we were asked many times how things were! Food is great- we will be back for sure! Thanks Victory Italian for a great night!
Very good food and Old fashioned was delicious and made correct (All claim this skill, but seldom deliver on it). Friendly staff!
Great place for a quiet business lunch. Nice house salad and personal pizza with fresh ingredients and crunchy thin crust!
Truly a Victory! This was my first visit but won't be my last. I loved every aspect. The restaurant is not huge, so the ambiance was cozy. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays, so very festive. We went for an early dinner on a Sunday, around 5:30, so it wasn't crowded - but soon filled up. Service was friendly and flawless. We had martinis that were spot on and the garlic bread that they bring is addictive. All of us had the minestrone, which was delicious. I had the gnocci romano and it was exquisite. My husband had a pork chop that he loved as much as I loved the gnocci. The wine list is good, with a nice selection of options at all price points. We loved it and will be back!
Genuine southern Italian fare. Fun atmosphere. Good value
Delicious and great service. Manager went around and asked how everything was. Met up with friends and had an enjoyable dinner, I loved that the meal was “slow”, it was well timed between apps and entrees so we could digest, we didn’t feel rushed.
This was the 2nd time my pizza came out after sitting a while which i specifically asked it not to. The first time the pizza came out piping hot and has not since. I will try one more time before writing them off. It was delicious the first time but mediocre after that.
Great experience. The manager was very friendly and checked in on us several times. The waitress was also great.
This restaurant serves terrific Italian food, and the service is wonderful. Our server was very attentive. What surprised me was the size of the portions because they were huge. We had a party of four and could have easily ordered 2 main dishes rather than 4. Too much food! We came here from out of town, so we really couldn't take it home either. Such a waste. Very good food, though.
great old school Italian in a warm and cozy atmosphere. the pasta was delicious, along with the veal parmesan and brick chicken and the special fish dish was enormous and beautifully presented.
Great food and friendly staff. Sitting at the bar is a must.
Nice service. Pleasant vibe. Huge portions. Second time we have been there and second time we had to return one meal tobkitchen as it was underdone.
Fantastic italian food. No frills, just great cuisine.
Wonderful. Portions werre nice size. Food was good. Service was o.k. Had to wait with reservation and for water refills every now and then. However, it was a Saturday night and it was packed.
Will definately go back as it was worth the money as everyone had a "doggie bag."
Think it could become my neighborhood favorite.
Food is fair and portions are big. But service is consistently subpar. I have been to this place 5 times and waiters and waitresses are not welcoming, always point out that something wrong was the customer’s fault, and a couple managers make you feel you are more a burden than somebody to take care of.
Our first time here and we will return. Half price drinks during Happy Hour. My wife and and had two pasta meals that were very good. Other food items going by on trays also looked great. My last name is Italian and is usually not pronounce correctly, even in Italian restaurants. The person seating us pronounced it even better than me. We shared the tiramisu for dessert. It was very good. Service was very attentive but not annoying. There a few little kids, but they were very well behaved.
The seafood pasta special was perfect with lots of seafood. Stuffed pork chop was huge and delicious. Spaghetti and meat balls was beautifully seasoned fabulous pasta sauce. The service was wonderful. Server was very attentive, lively presentation of the meals.
Had to wait despite having reservation
but ordered drink at bar. Hostess came for us when table was ready in a timely manner.
The restaurant cancelled our reservation...by e-mail...WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION OR APOLOGY. That is completely rude and unacceptable, there is ZERO chance that I will ever dine at any of this group's restaurants, and I will tell anyone who asks me that they should avoid the place completely.
Service, food, prices all very good. We were a little frustrated by the 20 minute wait despite having a reservation, but it's a popular place so we get it.
Love this recently opened River North spot. Great food and service was wonderful. Great recommend on wine and food specials. Will be back soon
Excellent food and fantastic value! Authentic Italian cuisine in a lively setting. Would highly recommend.
Been 3 times already. Great mix of delicious food with a very helpful and super nice staff!
