We love the food! Pizza, brick chicken, sausage and peppers, garlic bread, everything we’ve tried is delicious! Ambiance is nice but not a 5. That being said, the charm is that it’s a little neighborhood-ish.
Great traditional Italian American food, Tony outstanding waiter. Will be back.
Fantastic meal! The whole family enjoyed everything we had t eat. Our waiter was fabulous. he always seemed to be there at just the right time. Will definitely go back again.
Place was very quaint. Great food and device, definitely go back soon.
Outstanding service and food. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming
Out waiter Ahmed is the best!!!
Great server - great food - great time had by all. We’ll return...
Very mixed impression of this place. Yelp reviews were good, so expected more. Food quality was ok. Calamari was good, and brussel sprouts were tasty (albeit a bit salty). Menu was good with lots of options, but my guests' responses at the table was underwhelming. Again, not bad, but below the high expectations. The service was a bit of an issue. The server brought only one menu to the table at first (we had a large group) and he was trying to push expensive bottles of wine for the entire table. I get you want to sell your product, but it was a little much and wasn't comfortable. He finally brought more menus when I said we would just order individually. Later, the head of our group stood up to speak to the table, and the server came by and told him to sit down. Thought it was quite rude. Then, we had a birthday so somebody in the group asked if they could bring a piece of cake out, and they proceeded to bring out 5 dessert platters and charge over $130 for them without asking. Just seemed shady to me. The head of our group paid the bill and he said he only tipped about 13% pre-tax and pre-desserts that we didn't ask for, and the server had the audacity to ask members of our group why his tip was so low. I couldn't believe it. Completely inappropriate and unprofessional. I would never return as a result.
We had a great dinner and the waiter, Tony, was very nice and informative. It was our first time here and it won’t be the last.
This is a lovely little gem. Great food and bang for your buck. The surprise here was the bus boys were great, funny, and friendly. More so than our server. It was a busy night so I can forgive that she was forgetful. All of the staff was really friendly.
Overall a great night
My boyfriend and I went for Valentine’s Day for the first time. The food was amazing and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. The garlic bread they bring to the table was some of the best I have ever had. They also had a great wine list and menu. We will definitely be coming back.
Love the background music, waitstaff and food!
Good value in a off the path location. Somewhat isolated Mx
The two items that I expected be warm were not. (Garlic bread with Marinara and the Eggplant Stack) Flavors were good just would’ve been better if they had been warm. The main entrees were tasty except for a bit of bitterness in the broccolini.
We went there before seeing Donna Summer; The Musial, which my daughter took me to see. Food and Cocktails were delish and the service impeccable. Wanted to see Joey as I grew up with him, but it was crazy Busy on Valentine’s Day. And then to our surprise, the check came and my husband called the Restaurant and Paid for it. Was a Fantastic evening.
We are so glad to have Victory in the neighborhood. Love the food but we’re disappointed by the bread served. We think it has been so much better other times we were here
The garlic bread and drinks were amazing! However I don’t think anyone in my party enjoyed their entree. I got the meat ravioli in marinara sauce and it tasted like cardboard. The pasta had an odd texture and the meat filling tasted powdery. It was not enjoyable. I didn’t even finish half of it.
Sunday evening meal with my wife and 23 year old daughter. Restaurant wasn’t terribly busy, service was attentive, food was fantastic with large portions, and bill was reasonable. Old school Italian. Warm atmosphere.
Garlic bread delivered to table is sinfully good. Eggplant Parmesan and Chicken Parmesan both very good and large enough to split. Ceasar Salad huge (served all three for $10) and we all liked the lighter, yet tasty dressing. We will return!
Food was great and the garlic bread was outstanding!
From the service to the seating to the food all 5 stars
Awesome under the radar true Italian eatery. Love finding an excuse to go here whenever I can. Highly recommended.
The food was fabulous and the service was great as well!
Fabulous Italian restaurant in trendy River North Area. Authentic Italian cuisine... the complimentary garlicky cheese bread is to die for, and don’t forget to try the meatballs!! Waiter Tony, made the night ... be sure to ask for him!
First time to restaurant and had a wonderful experience! The food was authentic and delicious, daily specials we tried, I recommend the meatball appetizers that are a speciality. We are very picky "foodies" and will be returning next time in Chicago. Service was outstanding as well. Job well done to Victory and its very attentive staff/chef!
Outstanding service, best Italian we’ve had in years! We got there late, 10:20pm, and they still treated us like royalty.
Lasagne was incredible.....and portion for at least two. Brussel sprouts were one of a kind and spectacular!
I’m an old fashioned cocktail connoisseur and this was the best one I’ve ever had!
Best dining experience in Chicago we’ve had in 5 trips!!!
Perfect for a date night or a night out with friends. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Comfortable atmosphere. Large portions are enough to share or bring home.
The food is great and the portions are very generous; enough for serious leftovers. The garlic bread is to die for! The prices are very low for this quality in a downtown Italian restaurant. Wine is also very affordable. I will definitely return!
Was our first time to one of the Victory restaurants, drinks were great.. the bread on the table was great.. we had a group of 6 on xmas eve.. one of us ordered a steak MR and it was more like xtra Rare. we have Nonnas gravey and was very disappointed in the portion size for almost 20.00. Overall not sure I will recommend it to anyone going forward
Love the bread. And our pasta dishes were very good. Enough to bring leftovers home.
Dined with a party of 6 on a Sunday at 4:30. Service was spot on. Took our drink orders and kept checking on us until we were ready to order. No pressure, just making sure we had everything we needed. Appetizers came promptly and dinner followed after the table was cleared. Again, never rushed, plenty of time to talk and enjoy our appetizers. Food was excellent, 2 guests had fish specials and the other 4 ordered from the menu. Everyone raved about the food, generous portions, well prepared everything out together and at the appropriate temperature.
All in all , an enjoyable dining experience made better by an attentive but not pushy staff. We will be dining at Victory Italian again.
We are in Chicago for a Christmas shopping weekend. We made our first visit to this restaurant last night, and have already decided it is our new favorite Italian restaurant in the city. It is so charming, with wonderful service and a festive atmosphere. Tony waited on us and did an outstanding job. The food is good Italian comfort food, you can’t go wrong!
I went to Victory Italian with a large group of friends (ten of us in total). While the food was good, our waiter was noticeably unfriendly and multiple orders were messed up. We talked about it afterward and all felt our waiter was rude. Probably will not be back.
Great time! Staff made us feel so welcomed. Food was excellent. Perfect spot for birthday celebration!
Amazing time here tonight. Absolutely loved the food. Appetizers- jumbo shrimp.
Dinner- mom got meat lasagna she LOVED it. looked delicious too. brother got meat ravioli and he ate his entire plate. me- chicken parmesan that came with a side pasta.
More than enough we were stuffed and had some to take home.
I definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back.
Great ambiance. Service was very good. The fried calamari was really tough so I don’t recommend it. The food was good but lacked flavor. More garlic was definitely needed.
Tia is one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. Love the garlic bread appetizer that they give you!
