I love Victory. The staff and management are absolutely wonderful and so is the food.
Gave 3 stars overall because we made a reservation at 3:00pm asking to be seated outside. We showed up 5 mins after 3 to find a table set up ready to go. Only to be told it’s for “people with a reservation” who were inside. I told them we also had a reservation, to which I was met with a big eye roll. They set up another table and we sat 15 mins after our reservation time. They have good food and service. We’ve been there several times and have had no issues before, but they handled my reservation poorly.
We love it here!!
Best part of the meal was the free bread starter. The rest of the food was extremely salty and just ehh.
Group of 15 all in town for wedding. They got the orders straight and separated the bill as promised. Food was wonderful!
Love this place! The staff and manager are great. Food always consistently great.
Our group of 6 all had pasta dishes. 3 enjoyed their meal and 3 did not. One had to send their cold pasta dish back. It was returned hot, but not very tasty. The group consensus was that for the price we could have done better elsewhere.
Food was okay. Service was slow, server was cold/disinterested. There are too many options in Chicago to ever go back.
Love that I found this place in my new neighborhood. Just a short walk away to wonderful Italian food. Highly recommend.
Great experience. Our waiter, Patrick, was wonderful. We’ll be back.
A little far removed from other restaurants but worth the walk. Reasonable value and not overcrowded. Good service and large menu.
We were able to sit outside which was great. The garlic bread served with marinara sauce was actually the best part of the meal. My friend got a pork chop pounded so thin it covered the whole plate. It was dry and boring. I got the veal parm. It too was pounded thin and covered the whole plate. It too was dry and boring. It definitely needed more sauce. Neither came with a side of pasta...which I now see according to the online menu it should have and would have helped the dry meat. I would rather have a smaller portion and better quality.
Service was ok. Our waiter appeared distracted by another table of four women who evidently knew the owner. Maybe otherwise he would have noticed we didn’t get a our sides or gotten our wine without having to flag him down.
There are so many really good Italian places in the city the only reason I might come back is location. If I do I would stay away from the meat dishes and try their pasta.
The server was not good tonight, usually they are.
Jason, Oscar, and Billy are top notch! Food, service. And drinks were all outstanding. Don’t pass this place up!!
Gnats! Lots of gnats. All over bar. You probably can’t see if you sit on the long portion of the bar. But if you sit in the corner portion against the wall as we did you would run. They were on the bottles, wall, the picture frames and flying around our drinks. When we left we told the manager and he said he knew and they were cleaning Sunday. That’s 4 days away. I would have people staying late to fix that problem.
Patrick, our server, was great! The food was delicious and I can't wait for my next visit!
Food was delicious and the service was impeccable! Looking forward to eating at Victory Italian again soon!
Too much food.
Service was too friendly and attentive.
I may not return - until tomorrow!
Yummy food great service a little louder than expected like real loud
Arrived for our 7 o'clock reservation but table not ready till after 7:30. Manager Josh was very responsive. Kept us updated and set up an additional table outside for us. Our waiter Carlos, was friendly, fun and professional. The free garlic bread will keep you coming back though we did not get a bowl of marinara with the 2nd plate. The Apple Salad was delicious. Split the stuffed shells which were great. Few complaints about Salmon Vesuvio (peas under cooked). Great classic old school menu in a casual classic Italian restaurant setting. Noise level a little high inside, but hard to find a restaurant that isn't.
Awesome food and service!! CARLOS was great.
Food was great! Server was just ok not sure she felt like taking care of us.....
We were very disappointed with the food. Some of our dishes were very bland while others were way too salty. The ambiance wasn’t great... too loud, very cramped and only one stall for women’s and men’s restrooms. We had high hopes based on recommendations from others but we’re sorry to say we won’t be back.
Party of 4 promptly seated into very full & very loud bistro. Limited menu for vegetarians who didn't want pizza. Food was good. Service a little slow. Eats + cocktails + bottle of red + tip = $180
First time at this incredible restaurant, and we are soooooo pleased! Love the 'Old School' Chicago Italian dishes they offer. The portions are huge, which is a rarity these days. Just loved everything about this restaurant and would highly recommend!
The food was so salty!!
We love sitting at the bar Louie is great!!. Service is the best great food and the best bread that they just keep bringing it is addictive
It was just ok. We sat outside, which was nice, but the food was average.
Great pizza and great kids menu! Pasta was also tasty! Large portions too!
We had two toddlers and wanted to sit outside. Check. We had Patrick as our waiter. Best luck ever! He could not do enough for us. He was knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations in answer to our questions. We have had several great meals at Victory but this last one with Patrick was absolutely outstanding.
The gnocchi and stuffed shells were excellent and served in a casual neighborhood Italian restaurant. It's definitely worth a visit.
Excellent service 👌🏾
So excited to find a great neighborhood Italian place. Really tasty food with attentive service. Loved the meatballs and the garlic bread was decadent!
It was our anniversary, and we had a delightful experience. The ambience was very warm, and the service was very good. The garlic bread with marinara put on the table upon arriving is a nice touch. The manager swapped out a much better bottle of wine for the one that we’d ordered, because they were out of it, for the same price. He didn’t know that it was our anniversary at that point. After dinner we moved into the bar to finish our wine and watch the end of the Cubs game. Once they found out it was our anniversary, they bought us an after dinner drink. Upon leaving, my husband told them that we would be back! That is a huge compliment coming from him who doesn’t like to go to new places!
Very good service and food was quite good but large portions.
As is usually the case the food was excellent..the service lately is spotty at best..if you need anything you have to find your waitperson and flag them down and then tell them what you need..they are not proactive and don’t notice that you might need water or wine or a piece of cutlery ...the service definitely seems to be slipping maybe because the restaurant is popular now and they don’t feel the need to be service oriented as they were in the beginning..
Loved the place
Dined here the other night food, service and atmosphere all 5 starts! They really did it right here! I will be back and quite often.
First time at Victory in River North was overall fantastic. A big part of the great experience we had was because of our waiter, Patrick. He was super friendly and great help with the menu. The fact that victory doesn’t charge for the parmesan garlic bread they bring to the table is insane. Everything was delicious and a huge portion size. They had a truffle risotto special that was pricier than I’ve seen most other places but with that said, I would order it again. I will be back soon.
