An excellent place to spend a special event - our 50th. Outstanding in every way! So much so, we went back 2 nights later to top off our Victoria trip in a memory making way. This was our 3rd time at the Harbour House, all for anniversaries.
Food was good, service was excellent, ambience as good as ever. Overall we had a great time!
Our dinner was so memorable and James made such a great impression we booked for the next evening. Next evening...perfect again . Next time we are in Victoria we will dine here again. James was charming, the food was excellent both nights. It is nice to go somewhere that is consistent
Desserts were good. Appetizers and mains were variable. The Shrimp Scampi sauce was too thick and not hot. The Seafood en Croute had only one scallop and one small piece of lobster. The crab cakes were good and the trout was good. We asked about a dry white wine -- the first suggestion was not dry.
Overall, it was disappointing.
lovely spot to eat - close to our hotel so perfect place to access in very rainy weather
warm cozy atmosphere - good food - prices are on the high end but similar to other "higher end" restaurants in Victoria
Great meal that was well presented. The only quibble would be that the waiter was a no-show for most of the evening even though they weren't that busy. Otherwise, definitely recommend as a high-end restaurant in on the Victoria harbour.
Bob was amazing made our anniversary dinner special.
This was the second time we dined here and we like the classic menu and friendly staff. Food and drinks are reasonably priced.
The food here is absolutely excellent and the service was fabulous and friendly.
It is a nice and quiet place and the prices are reasonable.
Something I’d like to add, I had accidentally left my shawl at the end of the night and the server (named Victoria) chased me half a block to return it! It was such a kind gesture!
We will definitely be back!
Great service and fabulous food. Highly recommend.
Really dated interior. Good service but food was overpriced for what you get. Much better restaurants than this one.
Everything was excellent…..food, service etc. The only complaint was that the restaurant was very chilly. We had to eat our dinner with our coats on. Other diners experienced this as well.
Excellent food, service, reasonably priced. Perfect date night location. Minimal noise. Great location. Will definitely be back soon. Better then the keg by far.
Nice location! Literally across the inner harbour. Friendly staff. Good food! Decent prices! Quiet and cozy!
Excellent food and lovely staff. Really comfortable and good distance between tables, felt like a private dining experience, rather than a restaurant full of people.
James does a great job! Personable with attention to detail. I could easily eat there every night
Quiet restaurant, food was good, and crab cakes were outstanding. The wine list unfortunately, was short and concentrated on BC wines
Food amazing but limited selection tonight. Walking distance to Coast.
We had a lovely dinner. However our Resort sent us there saying we would get a 10% discount. When we asked our waiter he new nothing about it and we never got any discount we will be telling the Workdmark Victoria about this
we walked from our hotel and loved the restaurant. Such a elevated homey feel. warm and cozy!
Food was excellent, the Best crab cakes no fillers !
Definitely a return visit soon!
Thank you and loved our waiter!
Wonderful service, relaxed atmosphere and delicious food. We will definitely be back next visit to Victoria.
We all have a fabulous time!! Food was delicious!
Best crab cakes ever!
Good value and great service.
Delightful surprise. Have known about this restaurant for years, and this was our first visit. Will go back again!
Bland, tasteless and overpriced food.
Great location. Excellent service. Food beautifully presented but could have been hotter. Was offered more rolls but wasn’t told there was a charge until we saw the bill. Early bird specials were especially good value.
The food and service were excellent but the restaurant was virtually empty. Too quiet.
Excellent food and service
Food seriously overpriced. Halibut was overcooked, dry & served with a sweet sauce that was like glue. Snapper was greasy & over cooked. Unpleasant dining!
disappointed in the halibut dinner we ordered.
fish was over cooked and dry
the place needs a refresh.
90th birthday for our mother
The food was absolutely fabulous. We had a pasta and a steak and they were both incredible.
Good food, good location, good service, but nothing extraordinary
We had an amazing time; the food was wonderful and James, our waiter, was friendly and helpful
5 words…Bob and the crab cakes. The food at this restaurant is always bang on, every time. But I need to highlight Bob and the crab cakes.
Bob is a server at this restaurant. 40+ years experience. He loves what he does and it shows. Funny, engaging and professional, he is definitely an example of a master of his profession.
Now, the crab cakes…get the crab cakes. Even if you don’t like crab cakes, get the crab cakes. They are the most amazing crab cakes you’ll ever eat. My wife doesn’t eat crab, had these last night with me, and she almost ate the plate.
Get the crab cakes.
The Harbour House is lovely and we enjoyed a great evening. The food was good but not memorable. The halibut was a bit dry and needed more sauce. The Seafood en Crout was good but very rich.
Higher end prices for really dingy, dated decor & ambience.
The ambience and service were great but the food was mediocre. I had the steak and lobster which was perfectly cooked, however the potatoes were under done. My wife had the salmon wellington and it was overcooked and dry - probably from being reheated. Also her potatoes were under cooked and boring.
Great personal service. Food was good. Husband especially liked the rack of lamb.
