We wait over an hour for our table. Even though we had a reso. Food was delicious when we finally got our table.
We spent three hours dining at this gem of a restaurant! It is expensive but we were celebrating our wedding anniversary so planned on going somewhere nice. It exceeded our expectations! Fine dining with a relaxed atmosphere. Delicious food!!
Service was slow and servers didnt seem to know what they were doing. Was excited to go to the victor and celebrate my birthday and I noted that on my booking, but they choose to sit us at the smallest booth right in front of the door. Food we ordered was 90% salty and we waited a long time.
one of the best restaurants in Vancouver
great food great service great atmosphere
The food was so delicious. The staff was wonderful, and the restaurant itself looked beautiful. It was a bit pricey though. But overall, it was a nice experience.
First ....we made the reservation but late getting there on the contrary that we did not show for our reservation as per open table. Our overall experience for first visit at Victor was excellent. We will definitely come again. James ...our waiter was outstanding. Thank you James !!!!!
Awful service with disrepectful jokes, uncooked food, wrong bill, slow service
A lovely setting for brunch. The macaroni and cheese waffle eggs benedict was as wonderful as I had hoped. We enjoyed the Caesar bar as well.
The services was great and food was amazing! Loved the coconut cake dessert, to die for :)
Outstanding food. Incredible service with special touches. Beautiful decor and chic ambiance.
I was here before in April. The Steaks were outstanding. This time around, everything was just mediocre at best.
Victor is a great example of a modern steakhouse done right! The service was impeccable, the food was fantastic from presentation to taste, and the ambience was chic but comfortable. I will be celebrating many more special occasions at Victor!
We had a great time on our first date post baby for my hubby's birthday. The Ambience, the food, the crowd and service were exceptional. Our server was Mathew who had great knowledge of both the food and drinks. Only small issue was that we were left waiting for our dessert menu for a while because of a large birthday group requiring more service. It's an upscale place with a lot of options. Every last bite was just amazing. Can't wait to check it out again!
Mediocre food. Indifferent service. Business casual dress code? Why so many shorts, T shirts and baseball caps? Oversold and underdelivered.
Service is always good at Victor, food is fantastic. Only this time the striploin was a bit over cooked and the meat wasn’t so tender. But, there quality is pretty consistent most of the time.
The food was fantastic and the service was great. For example my wife dropped her napkin on the floor without noticing and a waiter brought a fresh one over and picked up the old one off the floor. It’s nice when the servers pay attention to the little details.
Came for my girlfriends birthday brunch , there were a few mistakes with the kitchen but the food made up for it , and we got a complimentary salad for the wait and a delicious dessert for the birthday girl
Would definitely come back for brunch maybe to try dinner sometime !
Service and ambience was great but food was subpar. The manager’s cs, was top notch. We had a big group 7 adults 3 kids, 1 infant and ordered 4 steak medallions, 1 blue, 2 rare and 1 medium, they came in one blue, 2 medium and 1 well done. The manager took one round of drinks to make up for it but doesn’t take away from the fact that the food could be better. Also, my kids love pancakes, their pancakes came dry, like oatmeal cookie dry. They usually would order 4 from McDonald’s, but at Victor they took 2 bites. It was also taken off the bill. Service is top notch, food, not the best, especially for Vancouver standards.
What a great dining experience for my friends Birthday. Chef Garret was amazing and came out to our table. The waiter was awesome, service, timing etc. The only one thing I was disappointed with was the location of our table which was located very near the bathroom and kitchen so a lot of traffic, however the service and food made up for this. Thank you for an amazing dining experience. We definitely will be returning to your establishment.
Great food, ambience and service. Only complaint - noise level... it was hard to have a conversation.
Crab cake was awesome.
The server was nice at the beginning but as the restaurant got busy, he didn’t come back to our table. When another server brought the main course, some empty dishes were still at our table. When we were done with the main dish, the server told us he would bring a dessert menu but did not come back for more than 15 minutes. We decided to leave the restaurant and asked another server to bring us a bill. Our server came back and just left the bill. He told us he would come back with the machine but didn’t. After waiting another 10 minutes, we decided to walk upfront and paid our bill there. It’s the most horrible experience on our anniversary. The service determines how good the restaurant is. No matter how fancy the deco is how good the food is, if you don’t get a good service, you will not be satisfied at the end....
The tomahawk at 50 ounces cane with about 20ounces of meat. Where did it go?
I had a wonderful dinner with a friend. Reservation request for patio was accommodated. Steak was delicious and my server was the perfect balance of attentive and invisible. I had salmon tartare (good, not amazing), yellow fin tuna was outstanding, my filet mignon was absolutely perfect, mac and cheese waffles, brussel sprouts were very tasty. I would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you for a lovely evening out.
Great ambiance, the patio was great for a sunny day. Lovely experience!
Place was beautiful, food was good, not outstanding. I listed on my reservation through OpenTable that this dinner was for a birthday. When I received a confirmation phone call from the restaurant, they asked who's birthday it was for and even asked for the birthday person's name. However, at the end of the meal, there was nothing special done for the birthday person at all. Really? For a $600 meal, a simple slice of cake couldn't be comped? Very disappointed and wouldn't recommend this restaurant for "special occasions" at all.
Excellent food and service ! The atmosphere is wonderful !
Me and my party had a fabulous dinner at Victors.... it was a perfect evening. Great food, great place and good company!
The service was over the top and so was everything else. Many congratulations on our anniversary, thanks for a wonderful evening.
One of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver. Fantastic service, creative menus and amazing food. Definitely recommend.
It was great! They’re very slow to take your order but very helpful after that lol
Overall enjoyed the food and atmosphere. A nice addition to the Vancouver dining scene.
The only complaint is the pricing of a Martini. A 3 ounce of Grey Goose will cost you $32 plus tax plus tip. This makes the value and experience of the evening diminish.
The patio view was great. I ordered the Charred Octopus as an appi, and it was amazing!
The steak I ordered was great, but it's not amazing as has been reviewed.
My friend ordered the scallop. While it tasted amazing, I felt that it's not worth the $35 cost.
Overall, Victor was a great restaurant and would go there again.
Good service and atmosphere. We ordered good and the waiter missed the appetizer. At the end of the night, he gave us free dessert to make up for it.
Our server was pleasent but our drinks and food took a long while. Crab cake to start was delicious. Rib cap steak was cold to the touch, and not cooked or butchered well. Very mediocre spot charging top dollar prices. Their wine list is pathetically out of date. 3 wines I asked for 3were no longer in stock, and when I picked out wine (a 2012) we were served a 2015 and told "this is what we have". All in all not the experience I would expect for a $500 meal. Go to Gotham.
Excellent modern sleek interior design, fresh seafood, service unfortunately lacking in multiple areas and not personable. However hopefully our experience is not representative of the norm.
Had a great time showing out of town guests this spot. Had beautiful patio seating, a killer tomohawk steak and went to play some black jack afterwards. Thanks Victor for making Vancouver awesome!
The food was really fresh and it’s a great spot for brunch/lunch. It wasn’t super busy and the restaurant has lots of natural lighting. The staff were really friendly and attentive. They have a diverse menu so you’ll most likely find something you like to eat. Especially love the scallop sashimi, xo lobster dumplings, uni shooters, and creme brûlée donuts (you must try these). I would definitely recommend The Victor for lunch and will go back again.
