The Victor is a fine-dining destination that evolves into a nightlife destination for locals, hotels guests, and casino
players; providing premium libations, cutting edge cocktails, best in class wine cellar, and an extensive selection of champagnes and sparkling wines.
Very disappointing experience. They could not accommodate another table for me even though half the restaurant had tables. They gave me a very lousy table. The steak was very undercooked for a medium rare. I have been here before and absolutely loved it, but the steakhouse has definitely fallen off the grid.
Food is fantastic but service is always lacking. I think they need additional staff on weekends
Food was ok but not outstanding, nothing to catch the attention taste wise
Our server, Rio, was amazing and the absolute best. He was courteous, attentive and offered excellent recommendations for a steak which my daughter & I enjoyed very much, better than several top steak houses in town. Well done, Rio.
One of the best steak and burger that we have eaten. The steak portions were smaller than expected based on the oz. The onion stack didn't meet our taste bud. Compared to other places in Vancouver, the price is reasonable. Service was good too.
brilliant experience, amazing steak and great wine selection. service was top class.
We had a great time celebrating our son’s graduation. Matthew was an excellent server providing relevant information and giving us adequate time for decisions and time to enjoy our meal. The surprise dessert was greatly appreciated and enjoyed.
Compared to other high end steak houses. The bread and sides except the mac and cheese waffle. Did not feel like it fit with the Tomahawk steak i had. Would be nice to have more traditional creamed spinch. Steak is amazing. And dessert was very good.
Fantastic food, atmosphere, and service. Can't wait to go back. Very enjoyable evening.
Matthew was our server and was attentive, funny, and I told highly suggest getting him as your server
We had friends visiting us from the USA and we choose to take them to Victor as we had good experiences before but that night, unfortunately, wasn’t good as our server had a big table as he said so he was busy with them at all time. we had to wait for each drinks 30 minutes. But it was managed by Natalia.
It didn't disappoint! Good food, great service, perfect ambience! I'd go back for sure. Special mention should be given to the chef for the crispy Brussels sprouts on the Appy menu. Omg! If you don't like this veggie, I swear you will learn to love it if you try the one at Victor!
Food was impeccable. Our table shared salmon and unagi aburi sushi, porterhouse, and branzino. The aburi was surprisingly good for a place that was well known for steak! porterhouse was mouth-wateringly good. The branzino was good but the skin was not crispy like the other time my friend had tried it. What I love most is the ambiance. I would choose this place in a heartbeat for a get-together with friends or a romantic date.
Service was awesome. Rib cap steak was fantastic, crab cake delicious, but a little pricey for 1 cake, ahi tuna was perfectly seared and the sticky toffee pudding was a really great way to end the meal.
Meal was superb and loved the mid century modern decor. Would definitely go back.
Food was very good but unfortunately the poor service took away from the experience. Order a 2nd martini that never arrived. Waited about 30 minutes in between appetizer and main course. No one came by and apologized for the length of time. Ran out of water. Wanted to order desert but worried it would take too long
table is too small
Everything was great! Just a little disappointed that the food was a bit cold and the restaurant was not busy that night.
A must try restaurant! The food is creative and simply mouth watering. The servers know how to serve properly unlike the servers at all the chains.
Nothing there blew my mind or palate. The porterhouse lacked flavor and heat. For some reason my medium + steak was cold. The waffle macaroni is a disgrace to macaroni & cheese. The burnt cheese and over cooked pasta noodle is a disaster. Despite the lack in food fulfillment our server was good. The lead host that worked Saturday night was rude upon arrival and never once smiled at us and seemed irritated and flustered. I will never go back.
We discovered The Victor last year while staying at The Parq and were very impressed with the layout and decor and promised ourselves we would come back to dine there. We came back two nights ago. After being seated it seemed the noise level (music) became louder making it a challenge to converse. After some time we adjusted to the noise. We tried some of the cocktails. Three out of four of us really liked their drink. I had a hard time distinguishing that there was alcohol in my drink but it was pretty due to pomegranate seeds. The lobster and crab bisque was lovely and I enjoyed my mixed seafoood grill, but have to admit I gave away 2 scallops which were very hot Cajun. Impossible to taste the scallop because of the burning in my mouth. My companions found the wine was 3 times the price of store bought wine so we stuck with one bottle. Dessert was lovely, again so pricey that we shared one whiskey cake and one mousse among the 4 of us. We liked the venue overall and would like to try it again.
Excellent service. Enjoyed our evening. Will go back
Delicious steak, and very reasonably priced for the quality. The fresh shucked oysters were some of the best I’ve ever had. The overall ambience of the restaurant was very comfortable with just the right amount of class. I found the wine list a little limiting in terms of value - we ended up bringing our own bottle and paying the corkage fee which worked out well for us. Our server was very friendly and did an exceptional job recommending our meals. Will definitely be returning!
The service was good, food was on par.
Crazy about their soufflé bread, Mac and cheese waffles, pretzel onion rings, and porterhouse. Price is totally worth value...which actually allows me to come more often. Amazing people!
I can't say if i would recommend or not. though management did compensate by taking the cost off the bill. My husband ordered surf & turf .steak was not acceptable could not possibly even cut it so full of grissle. so as a result then he was left to sit with no food while we ate or the rest would have been cold while they prepared another. by now some have finished their meal and the waiter starts clearing the table , well how rude is that till I stopped him as a couple people were still eating and my husband is just starting his second one but is equally bad first cut same as the last , knowing this was the same piece of meat maybe they should have offered a different steak but no. . by now he is eating alone we're done so he had the shrimp alone. not a good experience .service could be improved.
we were staying in the hotel for 3 days and ate all except 1 meal in the hotel. i dont think we would consider this hotel again for the price .we have stayed in better in vancouver for the same amount of money.
The service is not really professional. The food is ok.
Although the food and service was good, my $80 steak also came with a long strand of hair. They apologized and compt the meal and brought me my dessert with another piece of hair on it. Expected a little better.
This review is for a brunch experience, not dinner/steakhouse service. I took my mom, aunt and niece for Mother's Day brunch and it was excellent. The service was prompt and exceptional but not over the top. The food offerings were good value, I thought for brunch/lunch and good variety of savoury and sweet. The chicken and waffles was a good interpretation, one of us had the mac and cheese waffle (good flavour, a bit chewy on the execution) and one with Liege waffle. My only criticism I have is when we shared tuna aburi for the table there were no side plates. Perhaps a plate per each is overkill for essentially a piece of sushi but when we picked up with chopsticks everyone's rice fell apart all over the table. The mule and Caesar bars were pretty novel, lots of garnish and assortment. If it were a warmer day, there is lovely outdoor space to enjoy here to.
No vegetarian option
Service was impeccable. Oysters were succulent. Scallops were some of the best I’ve tasted in years.
Beautiful setting. Highly recommended for all occasions.
The service was very disorganized. It took 45 mins for the bread to come out. A server finally came and asked “did u get the bread yet?” And we didn’t get it for another 10 mins. We only got it cuz some other server was like “you still didn’t get the bread?” And it was not busy that night. The servers were polite and helpful but it the restaurant seems to lack structure.
Other than that, the wagyu was good and the Uni taco was good. Great ambience.
Absolutely fantastic experience from beginning to end. The staff were wonderful - kind, friendly, professional and attentive. A little worried when the menu seemed to be all over the place, but everything was executed brilliantly. This place shatters the idea that hotel restaurants are boring place-holders.
The Mohawk steak we ordered had too much fats on it and some part of it is tough and hard to cut and swallow
Great location and great view of the actual park
Food was great. Mains more so than the sides
Food and service was great but there was a hair in my side dish. That is absolutely unacceptable for an establishment of this caliber.
