Amazing outdoor seating. You actually don’t need a jacket. Very warm. Professional service.
Food, as usual, was outstanding. Chef has a deft hand. Bravo!
Service was abysmal...slow and arrogant. I’ll give another chance but with the limitations from the COVID-19 shutdowns, I’d have thought they’d be more attentive.
Wonderful warm hut with Italian music that drowns out the street noise. Prices are a bit steep but the quality of the food was lovely. Great for a special occasion. Will definitely be back!
We live in that neighborhood. And have been very good customers during Covid.
Once we were asked to leave our table as they had another reservation waiting. Mind you a $150 bottle of wine plus cocktails.
And again we are just this past Tuesday night. The tuna tartare was frozen. And was told for a 5:15 reservation ( 4 people) they needed that exact table back by 6:30. So we moved tables prior to dining.
Covid hard but prices expensive and not great customer service.
It was amazing from the start. The staff were friendly and attentive. Food was devine and exceptionally tasteful. Enjoyed it till the end. Hope to be back ...
Lovely place for special occasion. The Spaghetti Alle Vongole was delicious!
Amazing outdoor dining experience! Didn’t even need to keep my coat on! Food was delicious and ambience cozy and festive.
The outdoor setup in wonderful. Attractive, cozy. and safe with tables distanced, partitioned and fresh air circulating amidst the well designed heating arrangement.
Feels like enjoying a meal on an elegant
private railway car
Fantastic outdoor space, given the circumstances. Amazing steak.
Excellent!
The restaurant has done an outstanding job of accommodating patrons outside in a beautiful ambience.
Some of the waiters are a bit rude! Over all the place For outdoor dining is beautiful and the food is delicious.
Amazing food. Very busy place but worth the wait. The outdoor dining is the best in the city.
Waited 15 minutes before waiter came to table after reminding hostess twice about sending someone over. Had to ask for bread basket. Waitress very nice but did not follow instructions on food preparation requests. Restaurant allowed "singer" to roam sidewalk and ask for tips constantly. Wife salad tasted like it was from frozen vegetables. Asked for brussels sprouts to be well done and instead came out barely done. Waiters couldn't figure out which table got which food.
Always a wonderful meal! One of our favorites on the UES!
Good atmosphere but very overpriced for the food.
We ate outdoors. I was raining but the structure they have keeps the rain out while allowing air in so it is safe in COVID times. My friend had a Gorgonzola and Prosciutto omelette which she said was excellent and I had fettuccine Normia which was also excellent. When we complained that the wind was blowing the curtain into our faces, they very nicely came with a stapler and stapled it to the wall so we weren't bothered. Service was attentive without being overbearing.
All in all, a very pleasant experience. Would definitely go back.
Great venue. Superb food and service.
Delicious and presentation was superb! Our party had the tuna tartare, linguini with clams and the sirloin steak - all were cooked to perfection and very much enjoyed the beautiful outdoor seating. Highly recommend.
I love Vicolina and have been a customer of the previous restaurant Vico for years and years. They have done a wonderful job making the new normal feel lovely! But there seems to still be a glitch with the service. At first when we sat down things went well... except we suddenly had 3 different people waiting on us. One hand never seem to know what the other was doing which caused lots of snafus. My friend ordered a shrimp entree and it arrived completely uncooked. My dinner was delicious but since we had to wait another 20 minutes for a new entree.... it just threw it all off. Despite the inconsistencies I still love Vicolina and I hope they work out all the kinks. It is a neighborhood spot that is elevating the dining scene in Carnegie Hill.... especially when things are in sync.
I love the restaurant that was there originally so we were very excited to try vicolino. I had a salad with grilled chicken that was not inexpensive. The chicken was overcooked and tough and the salad a bit wilted. I was very disappointed. My dining companion had a terrific salmon and the cappuccinos were great so...maybe I just chose the wrong thing.
The best Italian restaurant in Madison ave.
Wonderful setting. Warm outdoor Swiss style cabin seating. They have a very nice patisserie next door that’s part of the resturant as well. Homemade desserts.
Lovely outdoor dining
Even with rain the outdoor seating was out of this world. I felt myself sitting in a European cabin. Very warm and toasty.
The food was very fresh and service was impeccable.
The service was very slow, my salad was definitely old, I told them and to their credit they changed it.
My husband’s salad was very cold like it’s being thawed after being out of freezer. We didn’t say anything.
Then they presented their special menu, there was no price in front of the special menu items however one would guess if a Pasta on the main menu as main course is more or less around $30-$35 on the special menu it should be around the same. I understand that truffle is expensive so by ordering a pasta with truffle I was guessing it would be between $50-$60. I was stunned to see my pasta with a little bit of truffle cost us $150 !!!!
Such a ripoff !!!
I’ve been to many high level restaurants around the world and I know quality food.
Very overpriced, very low to average quality food, very slow service. I wouldn’t go there and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Beware the specials!!! The specials menu has no prices, apparently for a reason! While the Primi on the menu were mostly in the range of $29.50 (already pretty expensive for a pasta dish) we made the mistake of ordering Risotto alla Parmigiana and were charged a staggering $49.50!!! Mind you, it contained 3 shrimp and a few pieces of asparagus and mushroom - no truffles, caviar or gold leaf. I’m sorry but that is simply unconscionable. The food was well prepared and tasty and the service was excellent and friendly but I have other choices and do not need to subject myself to highway robbery. Shame on you, Vicolina!
Waitress was terrific and food was great. Found it odd we had to order an appetizer in order to receive drinks. We were planning to order appetizers when we placed our dinner order.
We ate outside in their charming parking street booth but still felt like we were outside and you’re protected. It’s white truffle season so that was extra treat.
Simple, great atmosphere, lovely staff great food.
Best dinner in town!
Our server was forgetful during the second half of our meal for our foursome. We dined outside in the tent and the siren from a passing ambulances was disturbing. The staff here is not as well-trained as I recall in previous years. Food prices have risen too.
Amazing lunch and setting.
Great Dinner- very good quality fish specially tuna tartare.
Chicken with vinegar was very heavy.
Pasta with tomatoe sauce excellent.
Buffalo mozzarella, avacado and tomatoes excellent, anchovies and peppers excellent cheese cake crust too thick and heavy, pumpkin pie ok
We had a truly lovely lunch, beautiful and safe setting. The grilled salmon was absolutely delicious!
I felt myself in Europe with the amazing outdoor seating they constructed. Out of this world!!!
Ordered of the Brunch menu. Let me tell. I literally received fresh squeezed orange juice.
Keep the good work!!!!
Had the lamb shank special and tuna carpaccio. It can’t get fresher than that. Great outdoor seating.
We had a reservation. Stood there for almost 20 minutes and we’re not able to accommodate us! Bizarre and unaccceptable during a pandemic. Will never go there again
Vicolina’s is by far the best upscale restaurant experience on the upper east side; definitely worth the trip cross town. The only thing more memorable than the stellar staff and uniquely assimilated (mid-pandemic) atmosphere is the food. The dining experience is as beautiful, with their flower arrangements, as the classic and special(s) dishes are delicious; you can never go to Vicolina just once.
