Lovely outdoor dining
Even with rain the outdoor seating was out of this world. I felt myself sitting in a European cabin. Very warm and toasty.
The food was very fresh and service was impeccable.
The service was very slow, my salad was definitely old, I told them and to their credit they changed it.
My husband’s salad was very cold like it’s being thawed after being out of freezer. We didn’t say anything.
Then they presented their special menu, there was no price in front of the special menu items however one would guess if a Pasta on the main menu as main course is more or less around $30-$35 on the special menu it should be around the same. I understand that truffle is expensive so by ordering a pasta with truffle I was guessing it would be between $50-$60. I was stunned to see my pasta with a little bit of truffle cost us $150 !!!!
Such a ripoff !!!
I’ve been to many high level restaurants around the world and I know quality food.
Very overpriced, very low to average quality food, very slow service. I wouldn’t go there and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Beware the specials!!! The specials menu has no prices, apparently for a reason! While the Primi on the menu were mostly in the range of $29.50 (already pretty expensive for a pasta dish) we made the mistake of ordering Risotto alla Parmigiana and were charged a staggering $49.50!!! Mind you, it contained 3 shrimp and a few pieces of asparagus and mushroom - no truffles, caviar or gold leaf. I’m sorry but that is simply unconscionable. The food was well prepared and tasty and the service was excellent and friendly but I have other choices and do not need to subject myself to highway robbery. Shame on you, Vicolina!
Waitress was terrific and food was great. Found it odd we had to order an appetizer in order to receive drinks. We were planning to order appetizers when we placed our dinner order.
We ate outside in their charming parking street booth but still felt like we were outside and you’re protected. It’s white truffle season so that was extra treat.
Simple, great atmosphere, lovely staff great food.
Best dinner in town!
Our server was forgetful during the second half of our meal for our foursome. We dined outside in the tent and the siren from a passing ambulances was disturbing. The staff here is not as well-trained as I recall in previous years. Food prices have risen too.
Amazing lunch and setting.
Great Dinner- very good quality fish specially tuna tartare.
Chicken with vinegar was very heavy.
Pasta with tomatoe sauce excellent.
Buffalo mozzarella, avacado and tomatoes excellent, anchovies and peppers excellent cheese cake crust too thick and heavy, pumpkin pie ok
We had a truly lovely lunch, beautiful and safe setting. The grilled salmon was absolutely delicious!
I felt myself in Europe with the amazing outdoor seating they constructed. Out of this world!!!
Ordered of the Brunch menu. Let me tell. I literally received fresh squeezed orange juice.
Keep the good work!!!!
Had the lamb shank special and tuna carpaccio. It can’t get fresher than that. Great outdoor seating.
We had a reservation. Stood there for almost 20 minutes and we’re not able to accommodate us! Bizarre and unaccceptable during a pandemic. Will never go there again
Vicolina’s is by far the best upscale restaurant experience on the upper east side; definitely worth the trip cross town. The only thing more memorable than the stellar staff and uniquely assimilated (mid-pandemic) atmosphere is the food. The dining experience is as beautiful, with their flower arrangements, as the classic and special(s) dishes are delicious; you can never go to Vicolina just once.
The food was amazing. I got Pesce alla Griglia, and absolutely loved it. Our server Leo was great. Beautiful restaurant for all occasions.
The space is very attractive and the wait staff impeccable. But dinner was not great.
One of the most beautiful outdoor dining in the city! Delicious food, attentive staff and a lovely ambiance. Highly recommend.
Jesus was great. Delicious dessert. I had the chicken pillard with grilled vegetables.
With the new outside construction it has become the nicest outdoor dining facility in NYC
Vicolina has a much nicer vibe outside than inside. We both ordered pasta, which was simply ordinary and expensive. The wait staff is attentive.
You would be much better served to go across the street to Paola's, where the food is outstanding for the prices that Vicolina charges.
Great Italian food with great service and atmosphere.
Great lunch menu. Beautiful outdoor dining.
All was very good, especially in these weird times of COVID-19- the food, service and ambience was excellent!
From the moment I was greeted by the lovely beautiful hostess (new to NY from Slovenia/Dubai) to my entire service this was outstanding. A friend recommended this restaurant and they were able to accommodate a party of one (not everywhere in NYC will). I had a table at the very end of the tables to be socially distanced outside. I felt safe and comfortable with the staff wearing masks. The menu is very well rounded and their daily specials were tantalizing. I had the buffalo mozzarella with heirloom tomatoes and then enjoyed the daily pasta special. The pasta special was sun dried tomato pasta with a medley of seafood (salmon, clams, calamari) in a light sauce. It was generously portioned and out of this world delicious. Elijah (sp?) was my waiter. He made my experience as a single dinner enjoyable. Food and service were top notch and I will be here on my next visit! Thank you Vicolina for a wonderful experience. GC
Great food. Fabulous service.
Great food and great service during these weird, eat on the sidewalk times
Enjoyed the entire evenimg
The pollo paillard is so simple yet so perfect! The outdoor seating was well planned. It was so nice to be back at our neighborhood gem.
Loved the special and the layout. Very attentive service and great food and drinks.
We are thrilled to have Vicolina in our neighborhood. They created a beautiful outdoor dining setup. The service was a bit slow and inattentive during our recent experience but overall we enjoyed the lovely atmosphere and delicious cuisine.
Expensive wine list. But excellent food and service. The outdoor ambience is very nice.
Get ready for slow, rude service and a financial fleecing that is insulting.
Be sure to google the bottle of wine they try to serve you. I wish I had.
I ordered the only chardonnay on the menu and it didn't have a name.
It was a $68 bottle of chardonnay but was served a $10 bottle of swill.
When I told them that was insulting they offered a $20 credit. Although maybe well intentioned, I won't be going back. Plenty of other restaurant options who respect their customers and are rewarded with life long clients.
The food was amazing specially the veal Milanese. Great cocktail offerings. The outdoor seating is by far the best on Madison ave.
Vico has been a neighborhood tradition for many years. Vicolina lives up to its pedigree in every way!!
