Vicky's of Santa Fe Ratings and Reviews
This was our first visit to Vicky’s , we had an 8 pm Rez. And arrived on time at about 7:55pm. The bar was very crowded and people were waiting everywhere. It was a quite busy evening. I was afraid we’d be asked to wait but we were seated exactly at 8. Our waitress Melody, I believe, was very friendly and helpful. We started with calamari, had 2 different salad, both were great. I ended up having Rack of Lamb and it was very very good. My partner had the Veal Chop, it was large and looked delicious. We enjoyed our meal immensely and can’t wait to come back soon. There was a nice bread service and Cocktails were great. Bar has live music nightly and was quite bopping. Yet the noise level in the Restaurant was not terrible.
We did not make this reservation because it was Valentines Day. We were just going to be in the area. Very slow to seat us, server was rude, and we had not been informed as to the planned prefixe menu which did not meet some of our dietary restrictions. Terrible place!
We were there at Vicky’s for Valentines Day. They had a special fixed menu with four entree choices The kitchen is open, our table was in the main dining room, so it was very noisy but I’ve been before, sitting in the back dining room and that’s not the case. They were busy so the service was a little slow but the food was fabulous!!! We had a party of four and ordered three of the four choices, the filet, sea bass, and scallops—it was all amazing!!
We made reservations on Open Table. No mention was noted that a Valentines Day menu would be substituted for the full menu. However when I tried to speak to the manager about the gap or hole in the information process. He said he was to busy to talk, and it was the way it was. So I take it from his cold arrogant attitude they don’t want or need my business.
We sat in the lounge for the entertainment and the room was quite full. There were only two waitstaff to service the whole room which was not enough and the service was terrible - wait person extremely delayed at every step, waitperson spilled drink and we sat there for 10 minutes before she brought back a stack of napkins and handed them to me to clean it up - she spilled the drink and expected me to clean it up even after I asked her to, she did not offer to replace the spilled drink, I had to tell her to do so, food was below average in quality, etc, etc. This was my first time at Vicky's of Santa Fe and I will never go back.
Reception host was friendly our Reservations were for 7:15 pm got seated at 7:32 pm.
We got there early at 6:45 pm they said they could not seat us but they could at 7:15 pm.
Seated at a corner table where everyone was coming and going. Next to server station. Filets were under seasoned no salt. The pot pie while a wonderful presentation the chicken was bland the sauce was like soup no flavor also. The pie crust on top was perfect color but undercooked raw pastry dough.
Our server was very good. Our wine the prisoner was priced very well.
We had a few choices for dinner. We are from out of town and decided on Vickies from Santa Fe. Next time we will skip this place.
Service slow, seemed like our table was the only one our server had in that area, like her station was elsewhere in the restaurant. Food was very good, green beans could use some seasoning, they were just steamed and dry. Garlic butter very good, entrees very good. Would come back but not as a first choice.
This is always my go to restaurant when visiting Palm Springs. The food never disappoints, the atmosphere is fun and the service is top notch. Even the valet work their tails off so you’re never waiting long. The most difficult part of coming here is deciding what to eat.
We will not return due to extremely loud environment. Food and service were wonderful, however, there are other excellent restaurant’s in the Desert where you can carry on a conversation without having to strain to hear others talking...it’s definitely a turn off!
Came to Vicky’s with my tennis group in 1989 for the first time, followed at least once a year to take friends and family when we visited Palm Desert. Tuesday my husband and I celebrated the closing of our home purchase and the food is now the same great quality as in 1989.
The two owners, Mark & Marc are both service & attention to detail oriented! All their hard work definitely pays off, as witnessed by, their entire staff, including the valet service.
Hilda at the front desk is always so pleasant with a terrific smile, as she welcomes you into the restaurant! A real joy!
As always, the food is amazing & the service impeccable!
Needless to say Vicky's is one of our desert favorites
Don't miss this fun-filled restaurant!
Wonderful restaurant to celebrate two anniversaries (20th and 30th)! Food was exceptional! Definitely try the pork chops -- they were amazing! Live music in the background for dinner was terrific. The manager went out of his way to help us celebrate our anniversaries with cake and a drink! We will definitely go back again.
We have been to Vickis during our vacation in the Palm Springs area for several years. Our meals have always been excellent and ample. Usually several nightly specials with some of the best seafood we have had in the desert. Service is excellent. We had the best carrot cake ever on a previous visit, still talking about it. We were too full to enjoy this visit. Definitely a fave for locals as well. Will be back.....
Went here twice. Had dinner 2 days before New Years. Very busy, high energy, loud. However, food was very good and we really enjoyed the whole meal. Afterwards, listened to music there and really enjoyed the blues group. Went back again on NY eve's to celebrate with music and party hats. Fun time, very nice waitress.
Not quite what we expected - advertised music whilst you eat, but turned out that was in a separate room/bar. Food was good and plentiful, waitress very pleasant. Helpings rather large so some food wasted. Dining area fairly noisy so difficult to hold a reasonable conversation without talking loudly. Didn’t stay for music as there was nowhere to sit.
My adult children and I were spending Christmas in Palm Desert for the first time. I found Vicky’s both online and as a recommendation from the hotel’s concierge, and we dined there Christmas Eve. The food was absolutely inedible. It was poorly prepared, undercooked and had no taste. We had six different dinner entrees, and all six were horrible. Our bill including tip was more than $500.00. We should have stayed in and ordered pizza.
